Pubbelly Sushi Aventura
I am a fan of Pubbelly and I eat at a pub belly monthly. The service was not the best although the hostess did a very good ob pitching in. The food took a long time to come out. If you eat at Pubbelly - you know that they are known to get the food out quickly. Not sure way the wait. Outdoor seating was nice except for the sticky table which I was told - that's the way they are. Everyone is entitled to a bad day so I would definitely tell my friends to eat there. Just not outside.
I had been to the South Beach location several times and loved it. Therefore, I was thrilled to find an Aventura location, which is right around the corner from where my parents winter. My girlfriend, who does not generally like fish, thoroughly enjoyed her meal, which really says something. In particular, she loved the Miso Black Cod, the Tuna Tartar, and the Butter Crab Roll (which is an absolute must!). I was already a fan, but they converted a non-fish eater into someone who now has a much more open mind.
Serval mistakes made. Had to send back MISO SOUP twice.
The sushi was just ok... I was expecting better (bigger pieces of sashimi, less sauces, less rice on sushi)
Service was outstanding, food so creative and delicious, clean and beautiful atmosphere! Prices fair but noise level made conversation uncomfortable.
The service was terrible. Food was fast food quality. Went with high expectations but pubbelly aventura was totally dissapointing. :((
Perfect as always
I would only return to Pubbelly in Aventura only if shopping at the mall but not make a special trip. The food was very good but the menu options confusing and felt rushed to order even though restaurant was empty. Although the waiter was nice he did not explain the food options and fusions, we ordered random, which was fine - but would have liked more time to understand each of the options available. I didn't know until the end of my meal that I could have ordered a dragon roll which was not on the menu.
The meal was pricey and only had 2 rolls, fried rice and tea....was over $70 with tip not worth it when can go anywhere else and get more for the price.
Great vibe and food! We loved it! Bartender was friendly and provided excellent service! Can’t wait to come back!
Been here 2 times and can't wait to go back. The food is delicious and the service incredible.
All and all, a very good experience. Service was a little scattered with multiple people coming to the table but no clearly defined server etc... . Will dine here again.
Excellent sushi and interesting dishes combined with a great wine selection and a fun atmosphere made for a great night out with friends.
Went here for my birthday, and I wish I hadn’t- spoiled a beautiful day I had been having. I never received such poor service. We literally saw our waiter only 1 time (not kidding) when placing appetizer order. After 40 min, we hadn’t gotten our appetizers yet or been able to place our entree order because no one stopped by anymore. The manager came by eventually and took our order and brought our food. I had to pay my bill at the bar after waiting for another 30 min. It’s a shame, because the food was outstanding- if you ever get it.
Too much fried food
Amazing food! Even the vegetables tasted delicious. Love the tuna pizza.
Went the first time was it was amazing Then went again and waited half hour for table. They were out of Sake we like Went for a lobster dish we love and they were out of lobster
So second experience wasn’t great but will try again
Not your "standard" sushi rolls in size or scope. Fresh quality!
Timing was off on the food. I had ordered the pork belly kimchi rice as a side for my main and it came out before my appetizers, although the rice tasted good it was way over priced. It comes in a small bowl, an over cooked quail egg, and has very little pork belly for $15. Other than that food was fine. The only stand out portion of my meal were the Shishito peppers and the Wagyu Tartar roll which were both phenomenal. If I go back I'll probably just order those 2 items. I haven't had anything else on the menu that I felt was worth having again.
Also it took over 10 minutes after finishing my meal to get the check and had to ask the person bussing the table for it.
It is getting worse and worse. Terrible food and terrible service
Sushi para millennials
Short staffed. First choice of drink not available. Had a reservation and was asked to sit at the bar to wait even though there were plenty of free tables available. The barman was kind enough to serve us on a table.
Miso soup subpar, and dinner was generally overpriced. Tostone ceviche was loaded with onion mixed into it that overpowered the ceviche.
Too bad, I was a fan of the original PB. I suppose Pubbelly guys grew too quickly and haven’t been able to have consistent quality throughout their restaurants.
Good food however it is pricey for a mall restaurant
Very disappointed, we choose the $30 per person sampler menu, for 4 personne. We never get the whole sampling, and only 2 desserts that we had to beg for, they were another big party going on and apparently not enought servers to address the crowd. The food was excellent, the total was $288 after adding drinks for 4, a little stieff on the drinks. Anyway, the food was incredibly good, the noise a little high. The service quite slow. In all a pleasant but not so pleasant experience.
I love the Pubbelly chain, have been to all of them, including the pop ups. I live in brickell and go to the one at BCC probably once a week. We went to the Aventura location and honestly it was probably the worse service I’ve had at a restaurant ever. Please note I’ve been in the industry for a very long time and I’m always the one person that won’t let my friends complain and I let almost everything slide but service this day was rough to say the least. It was a slow night, our server was also the bartender. He took about 15 min to come over just to greet us. Another 15 for water, took only two drink orders at a time, then forgot some of the orders. We were sitting for 45 min before we can put in a food order and honestly contemplated many times leaving and eating elsewhere but we knew the food was worth sticking around for. Also, not just putting the blame on only the bartender. We even asked the manager for assistance and she was at a dining table doing paperwork and couldn’t be bothered.
Please note I’m not writing this to get something out of it, more to share so you’re aware as I would want to know
Love this place food amazing . Service awesome
I’d been to Pubbelly before and had a better experience. I ordered the tuna tartare appetizer and it was awful, it was definetely not fresh (I pointed this out to the waiter when we got our check and it was taken off). The rest of the plates were good. We were seated outside and our server kind of forgot about us.
Will go back though, I think they were on an off day, happens.
food was good
service was a slow and the facility was not busy
It was a great night as always :) thanks
Good food. Too expensive.
We got there and they showed us to our table. We were there reviewing the menu for several minutes, and nobody showed up to introduce themselves or ask for the drink order.
The restaurant had just a few customers, so it wasn't busy but the servers just decided to ignore us. After some time they brought another couple and sat them in the table next to us, the place was almost empty and decided to sit them in a table just barely separated from ours, so no privacy at all.
After 15 minutes of being completely ignored, we walked away.
This place is not cheap, and you'd expect a good service, but it wasn't the case for us, not recommendable at all.
We enjoyed our time at PubBelly Sushi, although we got lots initially in the mall finding the spot once we were there we had a blast. We sat at the bar and the bartender was extremely helpful and friendly. We participated in the Miami Spice menu, initially I thought the portions were small but considering you get 4 courses, we were stuffed at the end. The flavors of each dish were very good. I would definitely visit again.
One of the many highlights were the "Bloody Geisha" drink, aside from the name it was very tasty and perfectly mixed.
Restaurant was warm and a bit uncomfortable on a hot summer night. The food was decent but great. Overall so so...
Food was amazing. I went with my partner for Miami Spice and did the additional $18 for beverage pairings. SO WORTH IT. Service wasn’t anything special.
Food was average, service was below that. Looked like no manager around.
The positive, food was very good. The prices were great being that we happen to go Sunday at 6:30 and happy hour was going on. Everything we ordered tasted very, very good but the SERVICE!!! This was our first time dining here so we will have to go again to see but the kitchen was so slow putting out food. The place was not busy at all, I counted 10 table of no more than 3 people each and my wife and I at the bar. We ordered off the happy hour menu and it took our first dish out of 4 we ordered at the same time 30 minutes to come out which was corn, very good corn but just corn. Our last dish came out almost 50 minutes after being ordered and all dishes we basically appetizers. Going to say they may have just been slow in the kitchen this one time but will have to see when we decide to go back if it’s something consistent with this establishment. Again, the food was very good.
Very good Sushi. Love it!
Just a little overpriced but worth it.
A must go for a casual Sunday
The food was very salty additionally we got a lemonade that taste like a bottle of chlorine was used to make it. Overall disappointing
The Miami Spice menu was totally worth it, and the food was delicious. The service started bad (I guess the shift was ending), and then it was great. The music was horrible, the playlist said “Latin” and all it was was reggeaton.
Great experience dining here! Even with our server Javier, who was training, he made us feel right at home! Very attentive staff, if Javier was away training for a moment, another waitress Rochelle came by and made sure we were good. Kept checking in on us! Bussers were also attentive and nice! Now to the food, AMAZING! Absolutely go with the crab roll, you won’t go wrong! I also ordered the grilled octopus, it was perfect! Perfectly seasoned and texture was great. Definitely a delicacy! We went with the coco loco for dessert, it was refreshing and for sure gave us the Miami feel! It comes served in a coconut which was also aesthetically pleasing. Will be doing my best to make it there for another crab roll before I head back to Colorado! Thanks again guys for a great experience. Worth every penny! Thanks Chefs!
