Pub Burgundy Lion
We went for the US vs Netherlands women's soccer final, so we were expecting - and hoping! - for an energetic crowd. We were not disappointed :) I requested a table with TV viewing in my reservation, and was very pleased to be seated upstairs in a great location.
The service was slow and spotty. I do not fault our waitress at all, who was doing admirably with a busy resto. But management should perhaps consider staffing more wait staff up top for large occasions like this. We waited about 15 minutes to get menus, then another 15 before coffee and water were brought over. Luckily we had the game to keep our attention away from our hungry bellies :) Once it came, the food was delicious - the Rarebit was awesome! The clamato juice in the caesar was a little thin, but otherwise good. I've been to Burgundy Lion before - I live in Montreal - and would definitely go again for a morning sports event.
Not one to complain, but the service was not great...Very inattentive server who basically forgot about us in the corner.
L'endroit est agréable, mais le menu n'est pas assez santé pour moi.
The French fried were terrible..... really disgusting
We were a party of 4; none of us could eat the fries......it appeared to us as if they had been cooked in old old grease and left to become soggy over several hours.
We will not be returning and will not be recommending this restaurant/pub.
The fish and the steak was ok.
Always great friendly service.
Food was excellent. Great NHL final atmosphere!
We are always well received by the manager, we’ll return again.
My sister was very disappointed everything was too much marinated
The food was absolutely delicious. The service was excellent. Burgundy Lion comes highly recommended.
I had the burger and my friend had the fish & chips and honestly I wish I could have had both. The burgers was big but not messy. The fries were great. The place is nice and a great option if you're going to watch a show at the Corona Theatre that is just next door. Really cool area too.
The only thing that was surprising was the choice of table we were assigned. Even though most of the tables were empty, it felt like the worse table next to the stairs was assigned to us.
L’endroit est mythique et très pub anglais, les serveurs sont sympathiques et très à l’écoûte des clients. La nourriture variée et succulente, essayer le poisson et frites, délicieux.
Nothing special, food wasn’t great.
Good food, good drinks. Nice English pub. Cozy but very noisy especially when there are large group. Best cod cake! Leo cocktail a must!
Staff very pleasant and helpful
Enjoyed the energy of the place
Food was very good
Wine was a little expensive
Excellent fish and chips, good atmosphere.
Great food! Unique dishes with equally unique names - I had the Salmon Rushdie. It was like no other salmon dish I've had and was SO delicious. Service was very friendly and timely.
Took a long time to get serve, drinks, but after I was perfect and the waiter was very nice and professional.
Always long to get first drink.
But still love the place!
Meilleur endroit a Montréal pour suivre la Ligue des Champions. Super atmosphère surtout pour les matches de Liverpool...
Best spot for soccer. Food needs to improve a bit in terms of presentation and preparation, but I love the place !
Good experience, but the lamb shank was over cooked and rubbery. Entrées we’re excellent, and the atmosphere and service excellent.
The staff is great and really pleasant. Food is good and the reservation was really handy
Excellent Shepherd’s Pie !
I've been a regular for years. The place hasn't changed much and still has a great energy. The service was impeccable, felt well attended and lacked for nothing.
Excellent pub atmosphere similar to the UK pubs i have left behind. Excellent Sports coverage especially football (soccer!) coverage.
The music was not great
The food is good but be patient for your refill beer when you are at the table it can be very long
Great Brunch Food ,Very Good Service , Super selection of Beer
Great pub food, a bit too loud to have a proper conversation but otherwise, very cool neighbourhood place.
Way too loud and as a group of 8 the staff should have been sensible enough to offer seating somewhere else. Food was ok but nothing to get excited with. Portion were way too big, what a waste! I would not return. But if you like huge portion, greasy food and noise level so loud that you can’t hear yourself think then that’s the place to go. Avoid if you want a nice and somehow relaxing Sunday brunch. This is not the place to go
We love this place. It’s bustling, warm, inviting and the food is reliably good. The menu has a wide range of choices, plus daily specials. The fish and chips are great, the daily soup offerings savoury and perfect winter comfort food. They do an unctuous lamb shank and the very best portobello burger ever, oozing with cheesy goodness and perfectly grilled mushrooms. Their crab cakes are delicious in the summer months. They do fine fresh salads as well, for those who want lighter fare. It’s absolutely the go to spot for soccer lovers and people love to party here. Thus that boisterous noise level. Their staff is incredibly accommodating and helpful and the bar scene is definitely lively. Great spot!
I had a very nice dinner with my family , we all enjoyed the food very much. Very good service also. The only critic is that the music was just a little too loud , it was difficult to have a discussion at the table. But overall a very nice experience to be repeated
Had a Scotch egg and Welshman's Bride, very delicious. My daughter had the Orkney Smorgasbord and a Leo cocktail which she also found delicious. Will return soon to try other dishes. Wish they had more choices for English beer, but that seems to be a problem for all 'pubs' in Montreal
The food was good. The music was a bit loud but I understand it’s a pub. The restaurant seems to be very popular because there were a lot of people for a Monday night. The service was very good.
Fabulous service as always, enjoyed the London Tea plate and excellent wine list!
Food was very good. Service on the slow side. Overall we enjoyed it.
Très belle sélection de whisky !
Très joli décor et bouffe typiquement britannique. Excellent service.
The ambiance was nice and cosy but my meal and also my friends find it ok for pub meal but not for high quality. I had jaret d'agneau and the meat was over cook . I had to use a knife to cut it and my cheak peas was hard. I told the person that was assign to our table but didn't do anything.
Group of us went before a concert last week .... service was great, quick, food was excellent. Easy to reserve on line, and user friendly -- we were able to change / modify our reservation twice. Highly recommended !!
