It was fabulous
Stopped in for a drink and dessert. Great ambiance and decor. Service was little slow but was super friendly and welcoming.
Covid makes everything a bit challenging. Overall food was average at best. Service and staff were excellent.
The food was outstanding but our server was not attentive. The people delivering the food to the table from the kitchen were terrific! I am chalking the server issue up to inexperince. I will definately return. The food is unique and wonderful
Excellent service, fantastic vibe, and great food. All around thrilled to have eaten here and may even make a stop back one day.
Elote and muhamarra dip were great - everything else was passable or strange. Portion sizes are very small. Cute place but kind of loud with the music - wouldn’t go back again based on the quality of the food and value for the price. I felt that 3 of our 5 dishes didn’t really taste like much at all, or were just underwhelming for the price.
Went for a friends birthday. Great food- large variety on the menu. adequate amount of food for small plates. Great service...they told us to order 2 of each plate we ordered for the table so everyone can try some (we had a party of 6)- it was the perfect amount of food.
Sadly, the experience at Proxi did not live up to expectations. Given social distancing, tables were understandably spread out but to optimize occupancy, the private dining room space has been utilized which is at the back of the restaurant. With only 2 small tables this space was soulless and we felt disconnected from the restaurant and service (it took 10 mins for a server to offer initial drinks etc). Whilst fully understanding current challenges, more effort could have been made to make us feel welcome and part of the "Proxi" experience.
The food was absolutely amazing. Loved how everything was small so that er could try a lot of the dishes.
Our first time at Proxi and it was a very enjoyable meal. We were looking for different types of entrees than we normally have and Proxi delivered . Very distinct and different flavors in our meals , which is what we were hoping for. Great service as well the whole meal. Social distancing was not an issue as we felt fine eating inside.
Wonderful experience With extraordinary service! I loved it.... the food is creative, New, refreshing!
This restaurant is innovative and creative. They put things together that you wouldn't think of and then the dish is just perfectly seasoned and beautifully presented. The best cod with miso ever!
Great food, nice ambiance and in my opinion best value for the money in Chicago.
Had been wanting to try out Proxi for months and it certainly lived up to expectations. The cocktails were great and the food was amazing. Love the ambience of the place and would highly recommend!
We stopped by Proxi for date night - it was our first time there and we were blown away by the menu’s bold flavors. Very vegan friendly as well.
Amazing food and drinks. Would order every dish again and actually re-ordered the elote fritters during the meal because we enjoyed our first order so much
Service was exceptional helping us navigate the interesting menu
Food was great and got complementary champagne on the house for our anniversary. Music was fun and loud but good for a Friday night vibe. For sure coming back!!
A very enjoyable meal at Proxi- great food and reasonable pricing!
The cocktails were innovative and a must!!
Our server was very well informed too- the only glitch were the lamb chops- which were impossible to eat- as they were very very rare!
Amazing small plate restaurant with a good variety of options.
I’ve been here for drinks before and finally got a chance to come back and eat. Everything was excellent. The service was spotty and he kept telling us the kitchen was closing and the bar was closing. We had not been there that long and I was 10 minutes early for our reservation. I hate the feeling if being pushed out having been there less than 1.5 hours.
Start to finish, we had a wonderful experience! This was our first visit to Proxi and the service, ambiance and food were all on point. Do yourself a favor and make a reservation now. Cheers! 🥂
Food and drinks were excellent during Restaurant week.
We ate here for the first time at Restaurant Week in 2021. The selections were perhaps a little more limited than usual because of the Covid regulations, but we had no trouble in finding plenty we wanted to try. My daughter, whose birthday dinner it was, is a vegetarian, and one of the reasons we chose Proxi is they have a very strong vegetarian thrust. She was delighted, as were we. The food is inventive, fresh, and full of flavor. Our server was excellent. We will surely come back.
Honestly this dining experience brought a tear to my eye- I’ve only dined out max 5 times in the last year and I’m so glad I ended up at Proxi tonight.
The vibes are immaculate- the design is beautiful, the tables are super secluded, and at 8 PM they started playing rap which pleased us as a group, personally.
The management and servers pause a good distance away to allow to you mask up before they approach you- this is an incredible detail that really impressed me.
The food was just so incredible. The restaurant week menu had such great balance and variety it was hard but easy to make choices. I was lucky to go in a party of 3 so we shared everything. The fried chicken, tempura elote, and the Covina coconut curry were my highlights.
My lowlight was the sesame brownie! I’m not sure what happened there but the cracked pepper was off putting and the texture of the brownie was almost like a thick, barely moist cracker. I was not a fan.
However the coconut panna cotta with pandan coating was great. So light and refreshing yet satisfying.
I will come back to Proxi gladly. It was such an incredible experience that was flawless during COVID, so I can’t wait to see what it’s like after.
Food was tasty. Service lacked a touch.
Delicious food & wonderful ambiance!
The food was phenomenal! A global menu with a huge variety of flavors that is sure to amaze every persons taste; this was the perfect spot for restaurant week. We took a little bit longer finishing our courses and still felt so at home in the space. Extremely excited to come back again!!
Food and drinks were delicious! So many different and unique flavors and ingredients, e.g., tempura elote, kumquats on coconut panne cotta on top of blood orange.
Enjoyed the restaurant week menu. Everything was well put together and delicious
Food was very good, definitely unique. I favored the small plates to the entrees. Server was extremely knowledgeable. I would definitely go back!
Restaurant week dinner was exceptional! Very covid safe with amazing food and good drinks
Amazing food and the best meal since COVID. We came during restaurant week and everything was stellar from the elotes fritter, the fried chicken, pork belly. The cocktails dangerously good.
The food was familiar and yet innovative. So many influences from Mexican, Indian, Asian to Mediterranean. Everything was balanced, delicious and interesting. can't wait to go back!
Thank you for joining us for Restaurant Week. We appreciate your kind words and five-star review! We look forward to your next visit! Best, The Team at Proxi
We loved dining at this interesting spot. Menu was excellent and creative. Will return.
Wonderful food, horrible drinks. We came for restaurant week and booked a later time. We arrived and the kitchen was closing 15 minutes after our arrival and were asked to leave at the end of the night even though we ordered drinks. Frustrating to spend so much money and feel forced to leave
Food was good. Not extra ordinary, not bad
Came here for Restaurant Week in Chicago with friends. Really enjoyed their fixed menu (we tried all four apps between us and all had either the chicken or fish dish). Their drinks were absolutely phenomenal (Botanist pictured). Great vibes. Perfect place for a girls night out or a dinner date. Would definitely recommend!
Amazing. We went for restaurant week and the flavors were delightful - interesting without being over-the-top. One of the best restaurants I've eaten at in Chicago. Ambiance, service, etc. were all top notch.
Matt was an excellent server. Very intuitive to our needs, great experience!
