The Sunday supper this week was on of the best meals I have had recently. The antipasti was a great selection of superior quality. The salad was simple yet exceptional. The main courses were spot on perfect. All of this followed by a desert that was unique and far exceeded its description.
I intend to make it to Sunday supper a couple times a month.
The food was fantastic, the drinks are stong and the decor is nice. Will definitely come back again! Our waiter was knowledgeable of the menu and suggested the biscuits, which were amazing!!
I made a last minute solo reservation and am so glad I did!! My seat was up at the bar near the kitchen so I could see all the action. The servers were so friendly and helpful in answering questions. Definitely get the ham appetizer and the bread— the best I’ve had in ages. The cresta pasta entree was so good and vegetarian, though it tasted like roasted chicken!!!
Continue to enjoy every trip to Provisions; the food is innovative and tasty, and the atmosphere is cool and relaxed.
It was not horrible, it just was not good. I just didn't think the quality was worth the price. The place is def too loud for intimate dining. But I am not sure that is the goal.
Service was great and the food was, too. Desert was a little disappointing. Not the best value but a worthy dining experience and definitely worth a try.
Simple but eclectic menu, food quality was outstanding and cocktails interesting
Great experience & a wonderful place to take people when they come in town to visit!
Excellent restaurant. Wasn’t our first choice, so we were shocked by the experience in general. A lovely, fun yet refined dining experience. Our server was such a blast and made our experience. The food as well was incredible. Incredible flavour combinations, done very, very well. Would go back here in a heartbeat!
I love the idea of sharing food. They have an outstanding list of beers, cocktails and wine. The service is excellent. Overall great value! Awesome for a date or special occasion as well.
We love the food and service. However the kitchen closes at 10 pm. This is crazy for a place in the center of Houston. They took a 9:45 reservation and expected us to hurry up and order before the kitchen closed.
The small plates served here are perfect for a post theatre dinner, if only they stayed open a little longer.
From start to finish, this was a memorable meal—incredible flavors and great, friendly service.
The food is very good, creative, and tasty! Love the pizza crust and the hen of the woods pasta is fantastic! The bartenders are very good and the atmosphere is great.
Food was good, but service was inconsistent for us and tables near us as well. Server was friendly but seemed overwhelmed, made a few mistakes, and consistently tried to push the most expensive options to us. It was our first time and probably not the best date night option, seemed like a better option for groups in a casual setting.
The service was exceptional. The waiter took time to explain the menu and was very knowledgeable about the menu. The restaurant is beautiful with a very cool restroom. The food was GREAT, very impressed with this Houston staple.
Nice place to have pizza,/pasta. Open kitchen with wood burning oven. Very cozy
Excellent food and service. The only bad thing was that the air conditioning was WAY too cold.
It was very noisy. Could not even hear the waitress at times. Sometimes it was difficult for me to hear what my wife was saying right across from me. My wife had the red pepper and Italian sausage pasta - it was really good. I had the Crispy Rib - bland and dry and you only get about 1 to 1-1/2 ribs - I know its not about volume it's about the flavors your looking for, but wait there were none. Plus I got a big chunk of not fully cooked batter. I would suggest more of the pickled apples, some salt and more dressing.
I ordered Bluefin Tuna Sausage. The sausage itself was dry, but it was fine if I eat it with sauce.
My partner ordered Green Pea Falafel. The Falafel was crispy on the outside and moist inside. We felt its sauce was too spicy. We will ask to put the sauce on the side, when we order the next time.
The rest of the meal was great.
The service was wonderful as usual.
We’ve eaten here before and had excellent service. However last Saturday, the service was off long wait for drinks, then the wrong drinks were delivered; excessively long wait between drinks and placing our orders. However, overall the evening was enjoyable. Food was great and wine selection was as well. We’ll be back.
Very good service and amazing food! Menu is shareable and approachable. We went for my wife's birthday and they served her a special desert. No charge.
Great food. Very original tastes. You do not feel you are in Houston. A great break!
Provisions is now one of my top 5 in Houston. Hits on all fronts. The food is on-point and inspired. Some dishes may seem like odd pairings of flavors, but I can assure you they are all well thought out and often spectacular. Comparing notes with some friends who are also fans - this might be the best pizza in Houston. IN particular, the uni pizza. The service is equally fantastic. It's unobtrusive, super helpful and seems like it's easy for them.
We went for the Sunday supper and enjoyed every bit of it- staff were attentaive, food was on point in terms of portion and price, the space was modern and clean: all around great dining experience.
Great ambiance, friendly staff, and food was delicious. We loved both pasta dishes ordered (especially the Cresta Di Gallo).
The food was absolutely phenomenal! We tried so many different dishes, and none of them disappointed! Definitely try the spicy pasta if you're the slightest bit interested in it. The atmosphere is eclectic and trendy. Service was awesome. My only hesitation for rating it 5 stars is the prices are a bit outrageous and overall our meal was the same price as if we would have went to a nice steak house with all the frills. Still delicious though!
One of the best lunches I have had in a long time. Kudos to the chef and team at Provisions!
The oysters and curry soup were exceptionally good. The pasta with mussels was good. The pizza tasted off - I think it was the mushrooms. Overall the food was good.
Though I expect and look forward to a conversation-filled dining room at Provisions, the experience suffered because of a group of loud, foul mouthed drunks. The wait staff and management should learn to manage those patrons better or should change their menu to suit that sort of clientele.
The service was poor. There were maybe 20 guests total and about 6 servers. It took 20 minutes for us to receive our cocktails. And it was obnoxiously loud. Two tables in front were 6 person party’s literally having their own party. My wife and I came in for a nice night out. Not to a frat house. No one ever ask them to keep the loud swearing and yelling down. The food was so so. I had the ribs and my wife the octopus salad. The ribs were not seasoned and were very dry. And if ribs are dry you shouldn’t be eating them. The octopus was good but could have been grilled a bit more. Needless to say, we won’t be back.
Great place with great atmosphere, the menu is well balanced and the dishes well crafted!!!
I was disappointed in Provisions this time. The pizzas are smaller and they have changed the menu offerings.
We are in from out of town just for a quick trip. I picked Provisions using the “close your eyes and point” method, and I had no idea about their special Sunday menu until they told me on the phone confirming the reservation. For $27 per person for four courses, I can’t for the life of me understand why the place wasn’t packed. Our food was amazing. The charcuterie plate appetizer was right up our alley, and the simple green salad was delicious because it was perfectly dressed. I had a mackerel entree which wasn’t necessarily a typical order for me, but I only had three choices. I wouldn’t normally order something with fennel, but I really liked it in the dish. Dessert was a delicious doughnut with a citrusy syrup poured over it. I can’t believe what a bargain it was. If I lived in Houston, I’d want to go all the time.
Excellent Staff and great food & drinks at a reasonable price.
We always have a great experience at Provisions. The menu has remained consistent in terms of creativity and quality. The food has wonderful flavors.
I love the Pass, but Provisions, not so much. Food came out and placed in front of the wrong people, my pizza didn't come out until about 10 minutes later and it was overly spicy and crust was underdone. It was edible, but didn't want to return it because everyone else was almost done with their entrees. Been to the Pass about 8 times and always loved it, probably won't be going back to Provisions again.
Bar and food service were excellent. The food on the other hand was Unexpectedly not good.
Good appetizers. Ham of the day and tuna with lime sorbet were excellent. Crepsa was awful. Pasta in vinegar - this used to be our favorite dish but tonight it was awful. Pizza was not good - crust was limp - the salumi was uninteresting - very little cheese with no smoke flavor. Overall a disappointing food experience.
Wonderful food and service. Very knowledgeable of the wine list.
We like the drinks and the food.
Good service. Delicious food.
Yes I would make a recommendation to a friend, however not for brunch. Just not enough food options and it seemed they were either out of specific ingredients or could not accommodate.
