On vacation in San Diego and just thought we’d try this place in the Gaslamp district. It was medium to high priced leaning toward the vegan side. Our entrees were very good but the dessert was so delicious! I’d recommend it.

We shared the veal meatballs which were delicious! I had the vegan bucatini which was delicious but kind of bland. My friend has the sausage bucatini and it was amazing - so flavorful. The other friend had the mahi fish sandwich and he really enjoyed it. Ambience is so cool! Service was amazing. I wish I remembered her name, blond, middle 40s. I can’t wait to go back for dinner..

We were looking for a nice breakfast location for a party of seven. Pendry’s Provisional Restaurant was a pleasant surprise. Everything including the flatware was lovely. Our sever was very attentive. Food was delicious and our crowd enjoyed bottomless mimosas and flavors.

Excellent ambience as well as service. Appetizer of eggplant was a little undercooked and chilly. Was immediately removed from the bill with an offer to replace it but we were satisfied with our other food so it was not required


Highly recommend the high top overlooking the kitchen great opportunity to watch the process start to end!

I had the butternut squash ravioli which was excellent and creamy but not too heavy. The Ibisco Sour was made very well and provided a refreshing taste of lavender. Highly recommend! If we didn’t have so many restaurants we wanted to try within our weeks vacatio , we would go back again!

We ordered the soufle pancake to start and it was overcooked, a little burnt, and disappointing. The restaurant was sweet enough to send over complimentary mimosas, but no one at our table really enjoyed them, as they were very sweet. We were also sat at a larger table but were asked to move when the restaurant realized we were a party of four, not five. Once we were sat at the smaller table, our waiter was a dream. So kind and attentive. Our entrees were okay, but nothing to write home about. The restaurant also sent over a slice of cake, which was thoughtful, but not necessary. Overall, I've had better food here on prior visits, but our waiter made up for the sub-par cuisine.

We were celebrating Valentine's day a few days late...
My husband ordered the dry aged tomahawk and I ordered the brick chicken. We also had the cannoli flight for dessert. The food was good, was expecting a more generous serving for the price; it would have been nice to have a salad and veggies with our dishes as it was literally just sliced tomahawk & small pieces of chicken on each plate. Flavor was on point though. The architecture is beautiful and ambiance is fresh & fun. Our server was amazing even though she was extremely busy with other tables! Overall, I would rate 7 out of 10- if the food blew me away, I would have rated at 9 but unfortunately that didn't happen.

What a great experience came across 8 members of staff for a 1 night stay and I can honestly say they all had the same pleasant and helpful demeanor. I will be staying at this hotel again and would also put the Pendry at the top of my list when visiting other area's. The provisional restaurant did not disappoint with catering to 13 people Including kids. We had one dish the Egg sandwich runny whites for one of the children BOOM no problem replaced in a jiffy and with everybody else tucking into Brunch the manager new the importance of that child's needs in regards to eating. She asked if we would like a small bowl of fruit whilst the sandwich was being made. Happy Happy Happy child.

The service was impressive. I was greeted and acknowledged by name by the hostess at the entrance. My server was personable and very aware of both food and wines on the menu. Charcuterie was fresh, perfectly complemented by toasted Italian bread. Olives proved flavorful and were attractively served in a small glass sealer jar. I saw that pepe e cacio was served only on Sunday and was delighted when it was prepared tableside by a friendly and skilled server. Using reggiano parmesan instead of the usual Romano, the server tossed the cooked pasta in a concave depression in the large wheel of parmesan. The result was very impressive as theater and as gastronomy. Very good experience.

Our lunch was at 1pm so thee wasn’t a rush. The food was good but pricey if it wasn’t for the restaurant week menu (two of us ordered from the regular menu, the other two from the restaurant week menu). Our waiter was the problem; he kept forgetting parts of our order, then disappeared for ages. The were other servers and bell person on the floor but no one was attentive to our empty glasses. The energy seemed really off and there was a lack of attention to customer service. It was a true shame and put a damper on my husband’s birthday lunch. Needless to say, there are many more places with better service. We won’t be attending and I will not take my work colleagues there for offsites.

I was expecting a much better experience being the first time here. The utensils and the cups smelled very bad and then they took the utensils to clean them again but they came out smelling the same. It kind of ruined our appetites. The pricing was too high for the quality of the food.
