    Such a perfect place to meet my family for brunch/lunch while visiting San Diego with my son. Our service was fabulous. Ambience was perfect and the menu options satisfied each of the 5 in our party. Will definitely return!

    Waiter seemed to be annoyed most of the time. We made a reservation, but had to sit us in the bar with high table because it they didn’t realize they didn’t have any other available tables.

    Chef Dara Steinrichter outdid herself again!! The tasting menu was exceptional! Impeccable dishes, diversity and amazing flavors! Extremely well executed! This is a must for those looking for the unique experience of a tasting menu for brunch. It’s not for dinners anymore!! Thank you Chef Dara!!

    The pros- our server was awesome, the wait staff here always there with whatever you needed. I loved the open kitchen viewing. The goat cheese salad and the scallops were delicious. I ordered the chipotle pasta with grilled chicken and honestly, it tasted like something I could make at home. It was noodles and a cream sauce and the chicken was almost an afterthought. Why not chop the chicken an toss it? Garnish with some basil? We ordered glazed carrots and they were forgotten so I can’t comment on those. Next time I want to try the other restaurant attached to the Pendry and give it another chance.

    I would recommend providing some vegan options for your plant-based patrons. I’m always surprised when nice restaurants don’t provide anything for vegans! Other than that everything was fantastic.

    The restaurant week menu featured 3 courses. An opening course that was both great tasting and imaginative. My table shared a wonderful goat cheese and beat salad as well as a lemon ricada dish. Would recommend both dishes to others. The second and main course was less impressive. Wagyu beef was very tender. But the sweet notes from balsamic vinegar and the coffee rub just didn't wow me. It wasn't the best steak I have had by a long shot and it was, with an addition 35$ fee, at substantially larger price then that steak. I will note that it was served with an interesting mushroom variant. but the mushrooms were rather bland alone or with the fairly subtly flavored steak. instead they were a good addition to the other main dish we had. Speaking of witch, the Bolognese was boring. Not bad, it was standard fair tasty Bolognese. Original pasta choice with large flat sections that were perfectly cooked. Not too much, not too little. A good sausage meat sauce and a small crumble of what might have been goat chease on top. It was good, and if it was at a standard restaurant for 20$ I would not turn up my nose at it, though I would not order it again. It was far beneath Provisional's price and quality bracket. This was their opportunity to wow me into coming back and it just wasn't impressive. Although the mushrooms from the Wagyu beef helped considerably. Third course was desert. And it was phenomenal. Both options of a deconstructed Tiramisu and a strawberry semifredo were well worth coming back to. I won't go into to many details but simply say I do recommend either, but with an emphasis on the strawberry. The opener and closer for the meal were spectacular, well worth the price. It was only the main course that felt like they went cheep on it. A sad miss for the restaurant. I would not recommend goin there at the price point given. Not when the restaurants surrounding it are so very good.

    Provisional was nice but the food was just average - good, but not amazing, and was therefore pretty overpriced. We had a good experience but I don't think I'd go back because it's not worth the cost.

    We had a fantastic meal here--the chef's tasting menu. Provisional was a really nice respite from the bar scene that otherwise can dominate the Gaslamp Quarter. And our server was excellent!

    Tried the French Quarter in the Gaslamp Quarter. It was exquisite. The food was delicious, the ambiance was amazing, and they even had decorations and music to match the theme. It was like being transported to NOLA. Loved this experience!

    After being excited about going to this restaurant since the holidays, it was a complete let down. We were given a 1:30 pm reservation with bottomless mimosas even though the restaurant closes at 2:00 pm. Nit just the kitchen, but the entire restaurant. Some of my group didn’t even bother ordering food.

    The salad was delicious. Also got a fabulous cheese plate with the half price wine. I had a gf pizza. The toppings were great but I have had better gf crust. The regular pizza had too much sauce and made it hard to puck up and eat. Good service and live music.

    I took my significant other here for Valentine’s Day. It was suppose to be a 4 course experience. Our reservations were at 8:30 but we weren’t seated until 9. Our first course came at 9:30 and our second course came at 10. After waiting another 20 minutes we decided to use the restroom. About 10 more minutes sitting at our table waiting for our 3rd course I asked to see the manager. The manager was Nedra and after telling her how long we were waiting and feeling like we were forgotten about she proceeded to turn it on us and said it was our fault the 3rd course didn’t come out because we stepped away from our table. Not only did our server never check in to on us but it took notifying the manager for our food to finally arrive. At this point I was done and wanted to go. After repeatedly telling her no she basically tried forcing our 3rd course on us when we said we didn’t want it about 5 times and only blamed us again for stepping away for a couple of minutes. I don’t like writing reviews like this but this was necessary. After 2 hours and still hungry we still ended up paying almost $300. Very poor execution by kitchen, server, and management. It was shocking how Nedra the manager treated us. This was my worst restaurant experience.

    Food was outstanding - of particular note was the artichoke pasta - a stand-alone dish on its own. Flavors and richness of the artichokes, ricotta and fresh pasta made this one really memorable. The lobster tail with the addition of the wagyu side was a perfect pairing - diners didn’t need butter to dip the lobster, the buttery rich wagyu was the ideal complement to its seafood counterpart. And the green sauce was also lovely - that garlic and basil seasoning was just light enough and did not overwhelm. We ordered the bottle of Barbaresco from Italy which was absolutely divine with the pasta and bold enough to hold its own and bring out the lush flavors of the steak and lobster. That turned out to be a perfect pairing! All in all the meal was VERY well done - a lovely surprise :-). Compliments to the chef and entire staff. Hope everyone had a great Valentine’s Day - y’all made ours wonderful. Thank you.
