Aniversario. Muy bueno Gourmet. Un poco caro para el nivel. Pero vale la pena conocerlo. La comida y atención de primera. Cocina creativa, pero algo le falta para ser un top mundial.

We were impressed to see that there were hardly any repeats on the menu from previous visits besides the A5. We also think that early November is a great seafood season with the spot prawn's brief appearance and the start of truffle season. It's like the stars aligning. Timing matters with upper echelon ingredients such as this. Visuals of daikon crab dumpling were beautifully stunning. Spiny lobster and abalone dishes knocked it out of the park. Didn't care much for the vongole course, or brined fish dish, but all else killed it. Service was excellent. Disturbing trend of more people face-timing on their phones during dinner, or listening with ear buds to a pod cast the entire three hour dinner with their phone in their face, wearing sweat pants and hoodies. Unbelievable at a Michelin caliber place, but it may be explained by recent gold list release of #2 spot in LA, or new-money types. But what can places like this do to deter bad behavior? It's becoming too rampant. Saw similar behavior at Paul Bocuse in Lyon recently. A guy showed up in pajamas. They put a blazer on him and sat him in the corner.

Amazing presentation and the flavor to match. Definitely, for a special occasion and memorable experience. The tasting menu options were perfect. We opted for the Providence menu and added the Waygu beef. I can't think of anything that I would change. Would go back again and recommend hands down.

I had a terrible experience with my server Ivao who was very condescending and rude.
I was embarassed in front of my guest the way he communicated with me even going as far as explaining to me how to order from a set menu
I don’t think he is fit to serve in an upscale restaurant
Basically he ruined my evening meal and I am mad as hell .

What else can I say about LA's best seafood restaurant? This was our first time in LA and we absolutely loved this place. The service was impeccable, dining room was beautiful, and the food was perfect in every way. Yes, it's expensive, but typically you get what you pay for in life. We did not order an expensive bottle of wine, per se, yet it was still exceptional. The sixteen course Chef's Menu is not for everyone nor for us, but I do recommend splurging on the next-expensive menu which is the Signature Menu. Enjoy!

For a foodie, not what it once was, but still quite good. The last time I ate here I sat in the kitchen at the chef‘s table, and every dish I had was excellent. This time, I went with a group of eight, and sat in the main dining area. While the food is still top-notch, I feel like it has slipped a little since I was last there. Two of the dishes were not up to the level of what I assumed they would be. I still ate them and enjoyed them, but I wouldn’t describe them is excellent. The abalone was unusual, not in a good way. And, the monkfish was too salty. The goeduck was a surprise hit and the entree (duck) was phenomenal. Desserts were a little heavy I truly enjoyed The watermelon green tomato sorbet. So, overall a few star dishes with a miss or two.

Came here with my girlfriend to celebrate our three month anniversary. Very relaxing ambiance and great service. We ordered the Chef Tasting Menu, and to our delight, the wine pairing that we ordered alongside it was magnificent. Great experience overall; I will definitely consider taking her here again on another special occasion!

Perfect fine dining destination, specially for seafood lovers (they do offer meat and vegetarian delights as well). Must order the Spot Prawns if available. The table side presentation of the dish is impressive. Make sure you go hungry, a four course menu is really more like a 7 course tasting with the inclusion of delectable amuse-bouche! Well worth the price.

Food was incredible and the setting was very well done. Just want to give a big thank you to the owner and staff for making it a very memorable evening !

Amazing food and impeccable service. There must have been 7 or 8 staff that oversaw our dining experience- all of which flowed seamlessly and with attention to detail. We ended up choosing the seasonal tasting with wine pairing and was not disappointed. I choose the duck- not gamy at all - melt in your mouth good. My husband had the wagyu upgrade and practically licked the plate. Top notch!

This is a fine restaurant with a well-designed dinning that minimizes noise. The interior has an understated look to create a calm atmosphere. There were more waiters on staff than one could count and they were competent and attentive. If one is very hungry this is not the place to go. It features a tasting menu with portions small enough for children. The soup was delicious but the size was less than 2 ounces. It was great as an airplane carry on liquid but was a bit small for an adult. There were several courses that were all visually appealing and had outstanding visual presentation. It is obvious that the staff takes great care in preparing each dish.
There were 5 different waiters that visited my table during the course of my dinner. It was difficult to establish a rapport with any of them as they were constantly changing. Given the professionalism of the staff the firm could probable reduce staff by 20% and still maintain quality service. This would enable to customers to know staff members better. The restaurant would also be better served by eliminating at least one of two dishes and providing larger servings. The combination of optimizing staffing and number of courses while increasing meal size would improve the dining experience for customers and profitability for owners.

For the price, I would have expected zero misses. We had the chef's tasting menu, and of the 18 or so courses, there were both misses in the food and with the wine pairing. There were some excellent courses and great pairings, but there were 2 misses on the food and wine pairing and 3 of the dishes weren't up to par. Service was so-so, a little on the pretentious side and sometimes unwelcoming.

The meal started off on a sour note when the restaurant had our reservation on Sunday, Sept. 3 instead of Friday, Sept. 1 (our anniversary). They said that sometimes people (meaning me) make mistakes. Sorry, Providence, I don't make THOSE kind of mistakes. Though I checked my reservation on the phone just to double check ;), and the reservation was certainly for Friday, Sept. 1. They were able to accommodate us anyway, so crisis averted.

On to the important part...the food. Exquisite from beginning to end. We had the Chef's Tasting Menu, 18 courses, including 4 desserts. I don't like the "fishy" fish, so the only course I did not care for was the mackerel. My spouse, however, loves seafood and says the mackerel was superb. My favorite course was the Wagyu beef with truffled potato. Heavenly!!!

I took one star off for the service only because every time a new course was dropped off, it was by a different wait staff member explaining the dish. I prefer one or two people interacting with us for the meal, not 10-12 different people.

Neighborhood parking is available, but I'd opt for the valet service. We parked down the street near the DMV, and even though there is an upscale apartment building next to Providence on the West side of Cole Ave., there seems to be a homeless encampment all the way down the East side of Cole. Not the romantic walk back to the car you would like.

Overall, this is a wonderful place, and if I could just hit that darn lottery, this would be our weekly hangout. And we'll just make friends with the homeless people!

Providence is a classy well run gourmet restaurant. Fantastic in every way. The dining experience is over the top. Fabulous food and every dish is worthy of a photo that could be on the cover of a magazine. There's no better restaurant in LA! Worth every penny.

Food was superb as well as the service. My eyes were bigger than my stomach. Having seen all the pictures of the food from Yelp and reading all the reviews, I wanted to go all out for this dining experience. Therefore I chose the Chef's Menu with 18 course and added the foie gras dish. It was definitely way more than I could handle for 1 sitting. If I'm lucky to go again I'll go with the smaller menu and possibly add 1 or 2 additional dishes. I won't be able to repeat another 18 course meal because I was tapping out by the 11 course.

We had a great experience. Food and wine was amazing. My only gripe was the service. Obviously this is an expensive meal. My husband and I were there celebrating a birthday and commented that we are big wine drinkers and would love to ask the som a question or two. They promised he would come over a couple times and he never did. Again, for the price just send over the som for a minute.

A bucket list restaurant, Chef Michael is a genius who created a restaurant that is an experience, not just a place to eat. The chef's menu is a challenge, not only in the amount of courses, but in the tastes and sensations. A remarkable dining experience.
