Providence Coal Fired Pizza Ratings and Reviews
The pizza was delicious as were the salads. The wines were pricy. For us old folks, the noise level made it hard for us to hear But the mood of the place was definitely upbeat and that aspect made the noise ok. Our waitress was efficient but not warm We would go there again.
I had an enjoyable and delicious dinner with a friend. Had the wings (very good, but 8 for $12.00), the conrad (sp) (delicious) , she had a glass of wine she liked and I had a beer that was great. got the bill and all eyes were on me to pay and get out. Not the waiter, but maybe the manager. What was a good dinner, left an impression, I might not come back anytime soon.
Service is spot on. The food is tasty . Worth every penny. Portions are just right. I enjoy making reservations on line and have never had any problems. This is a place you can go to with confidence you will always be treated right and always enjoy your meal and in a timely fashion. I have no complaints only kudos for Providence Coal Fired Pizza.
Salad-wings-pizza. What’s not to love. But PCFP does it a little differently. Wings are awesome, especially if you like onions. The pizza is thin, crispy, and well, coal fired! Among my favorite pizza of all time. Decent beers on tap to complete a great casual night with friends and family. I prefer a little early or later when the noise level is better. Too many hard surfaces makes for a lot of noise. Otherwise fantastic.
I had to give less than five stars for the food because the pizza we ordered was somewhat bland. The appetizers we ordered were delicious as was the dessert and cappucinno. It was just the pizza. I have eaten there for lunch and ordered the hummus salad and that was outstanding. I can't remember what type of pizza we ordered but the taste was just okay.
We made post theatre 4:00pm reservations, arrived on time and enjoyed a delicious meal with fine service. At 5:30 we were wrapping up, paying our bill & a couple of us had gone to the ladies room where there was a line. It was at this time while a party member was still using the facilities, the host walked over to tell us that they had a reservation coming in. Really? We’ve only been here an hour & a half, we are obviously waiting for one party member and the waitress hasn’t taken the bill fold yet. This was five minutes after the waitress asked us if we wanted desert or coffee which we declined. What if we had ordered desert? Would he have packed it to go? He was incredibly rude. It’s unfortunate as we had just finished saying we liked the place & would return since we have season tickets to the theatre around the corner.
It was a nice reunion with two other couples . The beer choices are wonderful and the waitress was knowledgeable and made some good recommendations. We shared a large order of the wings. These are the best....love the onions and the rosemary.
We also shared some pizzas. the food came out quickly and was piping hot, and the waiters and waitresses were responsive.
Altogether a great experience.
Great night with my family before going to Trinity Rep for the Christmas Carol. The food as always delicious!! The atmosphere is lively and friendly. Our waiter was fabulous, wish I could remember his name. He offered to bring our check right away so we would not be late for our show. Every time I'm there I get excellent service! Thank you for adding to the joy of my night with my family!
This was my first experience with open table and it was super easy and smooth!!! We arrived about 10 minutes early and our table was waiting for us! We were seated right away and the restaurant fulfilled our needs! They were even able to accommodate two additional people in our party without any fuss!
The food here is great and the atmosphere wonderful BUT THEY DID SOMETHING UNFORGIVABLE TODAY! There is a sign on the bathroom door saying "lock is broken please knock" and this is a unisex bathroom where a woman or girl may be walked in on by a male. Due to the noise level at dinner time here it would be IMPOSSIBLE to hear someone say they were inside even if you did knock!
Put an out of order sign on the door for a half hour and go to Home Depot and get a 10 dollar bathroom door handle. This is unforgivable laziness that shows management is less concerned than they should be about customers and their safety and privacy. SHAME ON YOU!
I complained to John the manager on duty who couldn't be less concerned. I will never eat here again because of their evident care for making money over the safety of their patrons. What else would they allow here? I'm totally DISGUSTED.
EDIT: My apologies to John. Seems he did care and reported our concern immediately to the "owner". At least he SAID he was the owner, although he was neither Ed Restivo nor Chris Mossey, the actual owners. I spoke to the "owner". He certainly did NOT care. Even more disgusted now. ABOMINABLE!
We ordered 2 salads - always fresh. We had the sausage pumpkin pizza, a seasonal special, which was very good. However, we have found that the pizza has been rather thin the last two times, a little too thin. The noise level was tough to talk over, there were many large groups.
There are 3 locations - but this pizza and ambiance are so good that I expect more soon. The pizzas are small ovals that feed one man or two dieting ladies. This pricy stuff is not just good, it is great pizza. The crust is mostly puffy and soft like a Neapolitan, but its shape and character also share much in common with a New Haven pie. The red sauce is bright and vibrant and all the elements are in harmony. Like any worthy pie, the crust is the key and you'd eat this crust even without the toppings. A fun but noisy ambiance - this place is firing on all 8 cylinders.
I have been here several times but had a bad experience this time, on my arrival as I checked in I was informed that another reservation existed for seven an hour after me and that I had an hour for my dinner. This was the most absurd thing I had ever herd, after questioning the girl she attempted to back out of it however it left a bad taste in my mouth and ruined my previous experience at this place and will not return.
