   Great service, cool ambiance and good drinks/starter. Entrees were rather average in taste and quality (had the sea bass and cod). Overall we had a nice dinner, but would have expected higher quality food for the a very high price tag.

   Very well done Mother's Day buffet. Well staffed, very fresh food - even freshly shucked oysters on the half shell! There were dozens of items to choose from including fabulous carved Ribeye. The huge desert/pastry table was to die for. They served bottomless mimosas with freshly squeezed orange juice! This was an expensive brunch but worth it for a splurge sometimes.

   The food was good, the drinks were decent and the price was what we expected from reading the menu online. It was fun and would possibly go back. We celebrated our anniversary here and they did recognize us and thank us for dining there. Other higher end restaurants have offered desserts or a special wine pairing. I think this restaurant is still getting its legs under itself. I am confident they will improve over time.

   We hosted a small dinner party at Proudfoot & Bird to honor my daughter for her Vet School graduation from Iowa State. The evening could not have been better. From start to finish we were treated to food, beverage and service that rival some of our very best restaurant experiences in Chicago. We started with delightful oysters on the half shell and champagne. Among the entrees, we especially loved the lamb chops. The restaurant is a beautiful stately and quiet place to have a dinner, but is not at all stuffy and we were very comfortable. Thank you for a great night!

    Our meals were very good. The wine was generous. The ambience is handsome...elegant. Our server (Kara) was gracious, well spoken, and helpful. She also has a good sense of humor.

    This was the best fine dining experience I have ever had. From the moment you walk in, you smell the wood fire toasting deliciousness. The golden detail along the ceiling with accents of leather, brass, and just modern enough chandeliers tell you that you are in for a treat and there is respect written all over. Our server Eric was perfection and fully understood the menu and the overall value of the place he worked. He seemed to have so much pride in the business, food, architecture and experience. We ordered the ricotta as our appetizer and will cherish that dish forever. Placing an order for more toast just to enjoy every last drop. We skipped the salad and went right now our mains. We ordered the chicken and the cauliflower steak. Both were cooked to perfection with the right bite of smoke from the fire. The way the skin of the chicken crunched and the cauliflower melted, an experience within itself. We left with just a bite of sweetness and had a night cap at the speakeasy!

    Sadly disappointed with our food especially as we had eaten here twice before. We frequent Hobnobs where we are used to exceptional coffee from the delightfully friendly Quinn. We expect food to be salty from other restaurants but not from Proudfoot & Bird. Our server voided the extremely salty mushrooms from our bill, although the Steak was uncomfortably salty too. The food lowered the standard of service and ambiance. I would think twice about returning as I would have expected the chef to have reached out to us for more feedback. The hotel itself is outstanding and Hobnobs is a must.

    WE LOVED EVERYTHING WE ORDERED. The meat board was out of this world! My husband got the filet and although it’s pricey it’s WELL WORTH the $60.

    We had our first experience here and overall it was amazing. Johnny, our waiter, was one of the best I've ever experienced and I will certainly be asking for him when I return. He made the evening enjoyable and was so knowledgeable. Our only small downturn was the bar before our table was ready - the bartender was not friendly, and made my drink order seem like an inconvenience to him (not a tough order). Service at the bar was pretty slow. But overall we really enjoyed our experience here and will certainly be back.

    Exceptional service from Johnny. It was a special treat to have Chef Richard come out to the table to wish my husband happy birthday. Our special requests were accommodated flawlessly. Menu is a nice mix of approachable familiar dishes and creative & seasonal offerings. Dining room is spacious: we did not feel crowded or rushed. Parking ramp across the street at Davis Brown building is convenient.

    We came here for a special event and as a former chef I was really looking forward to it. We started with the bone marrow…the toast was charred and so dark that the burnt taste over powered the taste of the bone marrow. The main course was pork for my husband and salmon for me. The salmon was cooked to a perfect medium. We had a side of broccolini for the table and it was very undercooked. For desert we had the apple tart which, again, came out burnt on the edges. It was a Sunday night and as far as I could tell just two chefs in the kitchen so maybe it wasn’t their best staff? The drinks were great, the service was good but to have multiple courses come out over cooked, charred, and undercooked was disappointing. Especially after hearing and reading so many good reviews.

    A group of gals had a wonderful brunch here! Food was phenomenal! I recommend wedge salad or avocado toast. They had gluten free toast which was awesome. Service was very professional and accommodating. Will be making this my brunch spot!

    Easter Brunch-All the food was so well done that each could have been an excellent meal by itself. Put some on the menu-I would come just for the stroganoff. Really too many great dishes to fully appreciate them.

    The food was all wonderful. Everything lingered just slightly on the sweet side, even savory dishes, but that wasn't necessarily a turn off to the food. Our server was wonderful. Lovely surprise with the very well balanced amuse bouche. The only downside was that we were sat at probably the smallest table we have ever eaten at. The restaurant encourages multiple courses and shared items, but it was difficult to get 2 plates, 2 glasses, and a shared plate on it. Will be back, but hopefully at a larger table.

    Our waiter Johnathon was super knowledgeable and accommodating to all of our requests. The food was on point and everyone’s meals were delicious. We finished off the evening going down to the speakeasy in the basement. An absolutely wonderful date night out with friends.

    We really enjoyed the classy instrumentals of 70s rock. Our Server Brad help come up with the best way to propose to my fiancé, She said "YES".Everybody was nice and grouped together making the moment perfect!!!     Everything was incredible! We were traveling for an event and just stumbled onto the restaurant, even more surprised to find it was in a hotel. Our only disappointment was in the fact we ate so much trying different things in the menu, we were too full to try the desserts. Definitely coming back next time we are in town!!
