Proper 21K, brought to DC from the New York City restaurateurs Rob Zahn and Will Strozier that own Manhattan Proper, and Proper West, opening in August 2020. Located at 2033 K St NW, Proper 21K is a high end sports bar serving All American classics with a gourmet twist. Proper 21K is the second DC location of NIEUW Group INC.

Like its predecessors, located in New York City and DC, Proper 21K serves contemporary American cuisine. The space maintains the modern aesthetic and New York style of the Manhattan locations, which have best been described as Tom Ford meets Thomas Edison. The restaurant provides the best audio & visual for sports, corporate functions, nightlife and other events.

                                                              Chicken sandwich was tough. Expensive. Server was trying hard, but overloaded, making drinks and trying to serve nearly every table. Would not return. Poor value.

                                                              We sat outside for lunch with our dogs. The waitstaff was attentive even providing water for the dogs. The food was delicious and fresh.

                                                              It's been quite a long time since I can say that the entire staff was committed to excellent service. Proper 21 has this figured out! The food was ok but the service was a standout, from everyone!

                                                              Went there for short rib, it was discontinued. Gout sausage and pasta and came with almost no sausage. Only thing good was burger my daughter got.

                                                              The Sunday brunch menu was sublimely delicious with satisfying portions. (The French Toast will change your life!) The staff was engaged and courteous and the restaurant itself presents even better than the photos on the website. I look forward to returning again soon. Well done!

                                                              As always, I had a great experience at this Proper location. My server Mia was wonderful! She was friendly and also great at her job. On top of that, the rest of the staff was amazing and the food was delicious. I will no doubt be here again in the near future!
