Experienced waitress,great food
We had reservations for 7pm and we were seated immediately. The place was packed. Our waitress brought our drinks right away. We weren’t served our dinner till 8:20 - we sat there for an hour and twenty minutes. When I asked the waitress she then apologized saying they were backed up - but only when we asked. She kept our drinks coming. I ate the sliced ribeye, cheese, pepper and onions sandwich. It cost about $15 and did not come with fries or any side. It was very flavorful and I’d recommend it. I do think that of the 8 drinks we had at the table, something should have been offered as an apology for the wait- a drink-a dessert- for an hour and a half for 3 people to wait on their meal.
We sincerely apologize for the wait, usually our kitchen staff turns Entrees around in 30-50 minutes. Due to staffing or delays by the kitchen being backed up we are definitely telling our customers to be patient. Thank You for your input doing the best we can!
Everything excellent!! Just have patience until staffing improves!!
Appreciate your patience! Thank You for that most people don't understand what has happened to the restaurant industry due to staffing. Dunkin Donuts in Hawley is closed because they cannot find anyone to work, unbelievable!
The bathroom needs to get fixed .. had to use a porta potty which was clean but inconvenient
I apologize about the bathroom , we lost 1/2 our water pressure due to a faulty Well pump at dinner service Friday late afternoon with nobody around to respond to our calls. Our toilets require high pressure to flush because of their design. The Well Pump was replaced Sunday morning and everything is back to normal. Glad you enjoyed the food!
The hostess did not great us immediately, we had to speak first after standing there for several minutes. It was not busy, only a few tables had guests so I’m not sure why she did not greet us. After we were seated we sat for 10 minutes & no one took our drink order or introduced themselves as our waiter/waitress. But a group of 6 came in immediately after us and was serviced right away. My husband and I left immediately. I think it’s appropriate to mention we were the only African American couple there. You would think in 2021 this kind of thing wouldn’t happen but I guess it still does. Terrible experience.
My personal apologizes, has nothing to do with your race I assure you! It was just poor service by the hostess who is young and learning.
We eat out often (3-4 times per week, minimum). It was our 1st time at PLI. We went for a small family birthday celebration. Our waitress, Melissa (I believe) was hands down, the best waitress that we have ever had! She was incredible. The food was amazing! The value was excellent! It was over a 45 minute drive for me, but 100% worth it. I am looking forward to a return trip soon!
Waited longer than expected for our food and never received my salad. However, it was worth the wait and everyone enjoyed their meal. Music being piped in was a little loud but our guests were over 70.
We love PLI we frequently have lunch and dinner.
My only recommendation is the live bands are just to loud inside during dinner.
When having dinner with family and friends we enjoy the conversation at the table. The bands inside unfortunately prevent that.
My only recommendation is to wait for summer and have the live bands outside and use the jukebox during dinner for background music.
Although the band played great it was just to loud at dinner time.
Seemed like some folks enjoyed it while dancing but others trying to eat seemed bothered.
We will return of course band or no band but fingers crossed volume is turned down.
Thanks for the business! Volume needs to definitely be turned down we notified the band about that
They were short staffed but we knew that when they sat us. They had a small band playing in front of our table so it was loud, but we knew that too. We had a blast, we were visiting and everyone made us feel welcome. Food was really good. Becky our server who was also the bartender did her best. We would definitely go back again!
food was delicious and live music which was a pleasant surprise
We really appreciate all the good reviews it means alot to us, we do read them and make changes according to the reviews
Excellent food. Had salmon and boneless ribeye. Coconut shrimp appetizer and chicken noodle was also very good.
Thanks for visiting!
Enjoywd the food and service. Trout was really great. Will absolutely stop in again
Our server was excellent and very knowledgeable about all the foods.
Great food and great, friendly service. Will be going again.
Great food in a wonderful location to enjoy the park. Definitely going back for more
Great please!! had the tomahawk ribeye it was excellent and so was the service will go there again
Loved this place!!! Food was excellent and delicious. Everyone in our group enjoyed it. From bread to appys to dinner and drinks. We would drive over an hour to come anytime!
This place isn’t much on ambiance - looks like just another road-side sandwich bar. Surprise! The Bloody Marys were excellent, and the varied menu made it hard to choose. The food was excellent, our server was friendly and efficient. Don’t pass it by, thinking it’s just a”joint”.
Celebrating my son receiving his Eagle Scout Rank
Nice spot live music
Experience was great. Food was excellent had the New York Strip.
Gem in Greentown. Great atmosphere and ambiance. Fireplace in the dining area made it cozy. Caitlyn, our server, was great suggesting items from the menu and cocktails. Pineapple Whiskey Sour was so good. Delicious food and nice portion for the price. I will definitely return.
Food was tasty. Restaurant was cozy. Would have appreciated more pickle and less batter in the fried pickles. Will go again!
Our waitresses were outstanding ! The food and drinks were great! The beer was ice cold !
Waiting forever for main course
Was very over priced for a French dip sandwich 16.95 then 3.25 more for a few fries .
Food was great. Service was a little slow but worth the wait. I will definitely be back and tell others to go try it. I've been driving by this restaurant for quite a while and I'm glad that I finally gave it a try.
Excellent food. As attentive as they could be considering crowd. Would definitely go back and I definitely recommend them.
Great service and great food. I would highly recommend this place. Worth the drive and time.
This place is awesome. Great service, food is wonderful. Will def go again soon
Great food. Great prices. Great drinks. Great atmosphere. Waitress was top notch. 5 stars all the way around.
Elk meatloaf was great and venison burger also very good!
I loved the Halloween decorations and the friendliness of the staff! The food was excellent!
This was the second time I was there and both times were exceptional. The service is wonderful and the food is so eclectic and delicious. The dessert was decadent and so very satisfying. We will definitely be making this place a regular.
While we love the classic old Poconos, woodsy decor inside The Promised Land Inn, we elected to social distance and dine in the temporary outdoor space on a beautiful fall day. However, it’s really the food that brought us on a two-hour drive. Everything was perfectly prepared...as always.
All I can say is that it was some of the best food and drink I’ve had in a long time. The service was fabulous....Allie was the best ever!! The veal shank was fabulous! Huge as well, my husband definitely enjoyed my leftovers!!! We will be back!!!
Second time in a few weeks we ate outside. The food is always good. The servers have always been super nice and helpful. The problem is that there aren’t enough employees in the front of the house and in the kitchen so everything takes a little longer then it should. If you are in rush for a good meal PLI is worth the visit.
Great food, friendly staff, enjoyed the environment and atmosphere; will absolutely return.
We have been to the PLI before and enjoyed our meals. This time was no different. We sat outside (inside dining was available). The manager and waitress both told us they were shorthanded and it could take a few extra minutes for everything.
I can honestly say for a beer, soup and two salads we didn’t have any extra wait time. Had a $3.50 Bud Light, French Onion Soup, Beet Salad with Salmon and a Caesar Salad with Grilled Chicken. We left a 20% gratuity and the whole thing was $56.
A nice night out. We will be back again!
Food was excellent! Flatbread with steak, onions, peppers, cheese was outstanding. Seasoning on ribs was tasty. Spiced orange sangria was soo refreshing. Would definitely go back. Waitress was very attentive.
