Good location across the mall. Ordered Flapper in a Wrapper, which was great tasting and would order again. Also, ordered On the Lam, it was tasty, but wish it was a little more. Will be back to try brunch, as that menu looked good.
We had an 8:30 reservation through Opentable, recieved a confirmation and when we got there they were closed for staff training. The person there kept pointing at a sign on the door that said they were closed for the training but that did not help us since they had accepted our reservation. Apparently they are too unorganized or inefficient to stop accepting reservations when closed. Make sure you have a plan B when making reservations because you never know if they will be open. As for me they burned me once and I wint return.
Great little place. The entrees were small but I get that you’re paying for the ambiance
Overall everything was good. Some-of the issues were little ones, like they were not showing the Sunday morning football game, they had the previous night time games on. And the music was a little too loud to where our waiter had a hard time hearing what we wanted to order. I was also a little disappointed they no longer have the waffles on the menu. But like I said overall everything was good!
My favorite place to go. Great entertainment and the food is outstanding. The service was fast and friendly. Best atmosphere
Three of us went on a Monday night, and we got an awesome booth with plenty of space. It was trivia night so it was pretty loud and a little more crowded than expected but still not too busy. The drinks were pretty good but weak and sometimes too sweet (common for Utah!). I had a berry salad and it was good but nothing to write home about. I'll be back though to try other things on the menu!
In reading the reviews I was so excited but the experience was terrible. We went on a Sunday it was nice and quiet and the place is beautiful. It took our waitress a good 20 minutes to even come over and get our drink order and by that time we knew what we wanted to eat. We were so excited for the food it sounded delicious. Our food came out before our drinks. The savory ravioli was under cooked and still cold in the middle. Nothing savory about it, very bland. The sliders we ordered were subpar. There was only 2 on the plate with 10 little cheese curds for 13.50 (keep in mind their menu says everything is designed to share) we also ordered chips and queso. The queso was gritty like a mixture of canned and powdered cheese. We heard how delicious their bread pudding was but when we went to order it they were out. My boyfriend enjoyed his drinks but you can't really mess up a jack and coke. My drink the backyard punch (something like that) was diluted and tasted awful. This place was such a let down as far as food and drinks went. For spending almost 80 bucks the quality of food and drinks should of been better. We will not be returning
Stunning performances. Vibe. Food. Fun. Dark. Sexy. Classy. Drinks. Great job
Fun atmosphere, great food and excellent service!
We had an absolute blast! Such a fun environment. I look forward to making this a place I visit often!
Always great! Love this place!
The service was really friendly and fit the informal, speak-easy vibe of the decor. I loved their cocktails and the food was good, too.
They didn't have plates for our apitizers. Said they were cleaning them. Sadface.
Fun atmosphere, good service, good food and drinks. A little on the pricy side but overall I would reccomend.
The only complaint was the "show" kept getting pushed back over and over almost an hour late. Many of the staff, although having fun, were acting like young kids, I think the "theme" is awesome but the staff should be in "character" to make the experience authentic. Also, when my bf made the reservation he noted it was my birthday, but it was not acknowledged.
Liked the Burlesque and Ambience. But food was lacking in creativity and slow service!!! Also Servers didn't check water glasses and mine was chipped. Didn't appreciate that... but I would still come back for another try!!!
The setting was amazing and so was the food. The drinks were just so incredibly creative and the staff was fantastic!
We love prohibition. The food is good, amazing cocktails and the staff is talented and friendly. One of my favorite places to hang out.
A very fun place. Atmosphere is great.
a group of about 14 came for "geeks who drink" bar trivia and had a ball!
Every food or beverage delivered to the table was presented with such style and showmanship.
Violet was our waitress, she kills it every time!
Great concept. Better to stay with drinks only. The dinner menu ideas were great, but the recipes held back the other two stars. We had a great time were expecting a bunch more from reading the menu in the app vs the food that was served. Still a cool place!
Excellent place for a fun and unique time. The staff was friendly, with a strong sense of community. Highly recommend
Don’t go unless you drink alcohol. Our server was less then thrilled when we orders non alcoholic drinks & her service mirrored it.
We absolutely loved our experience at Prohbition. Definitely worth the change from the chain restaurants!
The food and atmosphere it was lovely. For the first 20 minutes we were the only ones in there, as it was early Monday lunch. While the staff was friendly, they spend some of their time visiting with each other rather than waiting on our table, so that my friend and I had to catch their attention several times, even approach them at the bar, too order.
We’ll be back! Great find!
I really like the food and drinks at prohibition and the idea of it is really awesome. My only complaint is that it is so loud you can't have a proper conversation with anybody. If I'm going out for drinks, I want to be able to socialize. I just wish they would turn the music down a little so I don't have to yell or get uncomfortably close to people.
Awesome restaurant! I brought a group of co-workers there and we had a great time.
Be warned- the lobby area and ID checking are 1920's style- many of my guests were initially quite skeptical.
Once inside the space is beautiful and the servers were kind and helpful. We had a very diverse group, but the food and drink menu has something for everyone. Even the toughest foodies in our group were impressed with the quality and value of the meals. We highly recommend the pork chops, the sliders, and the steak.
Several of our local colleagues said they were going to come back for "date nights" when Prohibition has live music.
Overall a wonderful experience. I highly recommend for large groups. The cool environment, craft cocktails, and excellent food are all worth checking out.
Made a quick reservation on Open Table arriving to the restaurant in a few minutes. Upon entering we were greeted promptly and asked the usual Prohibition questions, passing the test we were led through the hidden entrance to our table. Our server came over got us some water and bar order going which was really tasty when it arrived. The French Onion soup and tacos went down super easy (A+ for Gluten Free and all sauce on the side). Highly recommend for a quick bite or a fun night with friends.
Had a good time and the food was really good. The decoration is cool and the vibe is a wesome but the entertainment is very questionable.
Multiple bad experiences with service. The last few times I have gone I have made reservations very early and in the notes I make specifications about where I want to sit yet still they either try to sit me at this uncomfortable barrel bar stool table that barely has enough room for drinks or at a shared table with people I don't know. Then they act all annoyed when I say I would like a normal table by ourselves. They made us wait over 30 minutes last time to sit when we had reservations, and the host said I had to wait because he needed to find a place that met my specifications (as if asking for a normal table by ourselves was such an outlandish, selfish and elitist request). He also was visibly upset with me when I asked about how much longer the wait was. The waitresses were nice, but the hosts were absolutely rude as can be.
I don't have enough words to describe how much I loved this place! The ambiance is amazing; it really transports you back in time. The bartender (or "alchemist" as our server nicknamed her) was intent on making sure we were in love with our drinks. The food was very good; pricey, but the ambiance and live music performances make the bill worth it. The servers and staff were all wonderful, very obliging and friendly. The best part of the night was definitely the burlesque show and karaoke. I had so much fun here, immediately upon leaving I had started planning another excuse to come back. I highly recommend it. (If you're looking for a quieter night, go earlier and on a weekday. After 9 and on weekends things seem to get louder)
I absolutely love Prohibition! It's pricey enough to be a rare treat, but the atmosphere is amazing, the drinks are some of the best in Salt Lake, and the live shows are always worth seeing!
I was sadly disappointed in this visit. I have gone to Prohibition with friends for a couple of drinks and an appetizer or two. I thought it would be nice to make a reservation for Mothers Day. Never again. We waited quite some time for our first and second order of drinks. The food took over 20 minutes and was just eggs, potatoes and bacon. 2 of the 4 of us didn't get their food for over 30 minutes before they realized they had 'lost' half of order though we had asked them about it 2 or 3 times in that 30 minutes. The food was cold and not well prepped. The service was not very good. At the end they still tried to charge the others without food for their meal, but once it was pointed out they graciously removed the cost from the bill. I was very disappointed that this is truly one of the top 3 worst dining experiences I have ever had.
Surprised by the amount of vegan offerings. Service was really great. One vegan dish took quite a long time to arrive. Everyone was finished before it came. The servers were very stressed that the dish didn't arrive as quickly as the others. Many apologies and took the dish off of our bill. The dish, vegan poutine, was fantastic! Would have like to have had it with the others, but definitely worth the wait. We will be going back!
My wife and I truly love this place! The service was great and fast. I like how busy it is.
Excellent food and fun atmosphere. Will go back and highly recommend.
Loved it again!!!! I took my mom this time, and she loved it as well!! It will be my go to place for taking someone somewhere fun! The hostess is the best!!! Our server made my mom a great drink that he made just for her!! She loved it!! The food has been perfect!!! I am still wanting to go at night for the live music and Burlesque show!!! Can hardly wait for that!!!
They were super fun! A great environment, we had an amazing time! A+ service!
We went there to check it out, they have a limited Sunday brunch menu, but superbly executed. The French toast was fantastic. Every one enjoyed their meal. Service was great, and we look forward to returning for the full menu. Nice layout and very cool entrance. Great bar (but no TVs for sports nuts).
