Prohibition Restaurant & Speakeasy Ratings and Reviews
The food and ambiance were excellent, drinks were expensive for the amount served.
We enjoyed the meatballs, croquetas and lamb dinner, it was excellent.
Do not recommend the valet service, $20.00 to park the car was over the top. Park across the street for a few dollars.
Its a fantastic location to celebrate.
Overall I loved the place and will return.
I went here on my honeymoon! I loved the vibe of the place. It’s beautiful inside!!!! The whole place is decorated perfectly with a nice ambiance for new romances, double dates or even perfect for a birthday dinner or even a ladies night! Our reservation was pretty late, 10:30.....but the service was faster than some fast food places I’ve even been to. Also upstairs was the perfect place to get our dance on and indulge in more drinks! 10/10 would recommend and would also go there again💕
just another good experience at prohibition, drinks are just right and food always superb and consistent this is my fifth time here and never left unsatisfied, flavor are great and the portion size are just enough. definitely coming back to try different dishes but be sure to try the octopus
This was our first time at the Prohibition Restaurant and Speakeasy, and it won't be our last. The manager and wait staff were great. The food was excellent. Four of us shared a salad and 3 dishes and could not finish everything. The speakeasy upstairs was fun and comfortable. The parking was not cheap, but the car was there before I got outside! And, the manager gave us a new guest discount. What's not to like?
Both dishes we had were fantastic-just delicious! The atmosphere was great too. Want to try the upstairs lounge on the weekends! Only complaint was sitting downstairs, against the wall, we got a constant blast of cold air. Bring a sport coat or jacket for this!
The place is charming with live Jazz music but the food leaves something to be desired. I ordered the meatballs, they were so salty I could not eat them. Someone else ordered the grouper dish, it was too fishy (guessing not too fresh) she had to send it back. The others said their meals were mediocre at best. If you want great food, I would not recommend this place.
This was a welcome surprise. My boyfriend and I went to Prohibition to try something new on date night. The atmosphere was great, relaxed and fun. The food was outstanding!! We shared several appetizers/ small plates; they were generous portions and we did not even have to order dinner. We shared the red velvet cake for dessert which was fantastic!! We will definitely be back!
Overall I always enjoyed dining here. This was my second visit. It was my friend's birthday and I spoke highly off the resturant so I brought her for her birthday. Prior to coming I called and told hostess this was my friend birthday dinner. She stated when dessert is ordered a sparkling candle will be on desert of choice. We arrived, our table was not ready so hostess suggest we sit at bar. We did, ordered drinks, our table was ready within a few minutes. Our server was Nick, who was all about "money" not service. Food was delicious, dessert was ordered to my dismay no sparkling candle. I was handed wrong check, they charge $5 for a bowl of those plantain strips, Nick failed to let me know. Was disappointed about the service and we were placed at high top counter where food was prepared. Wasn't to thrilled about that. Great place however service need to be looked into.
We celebrated our 28th anniversary. They held a lounge table for us upstairs to sit after our dinner downstairs. Also gifted us with complimentary champagne. We felt VIP from the moment we walked in, but without the pricey $$ VIP service price tag! The crowd was varied as well. Some 20's, 30's, & over 40's . Nice combo of throwbacks with contemporary hits as the night progressed. Danced the night away! Great place to dine & dance! Will visit again with friends.
Our dining experience at Prohibition was wonderful - the food was excellent, the atmosphere was excellent and the wait staff was excellent. however I unfortunately have to end this review on a bad note. The neighborhood at Prohibition is an up and coming neighborhood, based on the proximity of the "low income" neighborhood, decided to pay for the Valet parking that was offered as I felt that my car would be safer. This however was not the case. The parking lot although represented to be attended was not. My car window was broken and the Contents of my car were stolen while in the care of Valet parking.
I FILED A POLICE REPORT AND THE OFFICER SAID THAT THIS HAPPENS FREQUENTLY AT THIS LOCATION.
I reported it to the restaurant and they said that security did not start until 11 pm and there were NO CAMERAS anywhere in the parking lot. Prohibition was quick to say it was not their responsibility as Valet Parking was an independent firm. However I think that the safety and experience of their customers should be foremost in their responsibility and not shrugged off. Prohibition should be responsible to implement some measures to provide for customer safety. This is a restaurant as well as a lounge. Do their dinner customers not warrant security?
The Valet company was also quick to say they were not responsible for theft of any items from inside of the cars, despite the fact that the parking areas are supposed to be monitored and not one was onsite when my car was broken into.
How can I recommend this Restaurant, when a great night was completely spoilt by the smashing of my car window and theft of my laptop and other items from my car, an
