Amazing service and food.
We had a great time! Staff was very friendly and attentive. The band was entertaining!
We went for brunch and we’re the only ones who sat outside. We had a great meal and great service. The atmosphere was really nice even with being the only table.
The food was okay, the service was good but let me tell you about the seating....
We sat at a high top table with stools. They were the most uncomfortable seats I’ve ever sat in. It made the dinner miserable. I’ve never been more happy to leave a restaurant in my life. We all had to stand up constantly just to find some level of comfort.
We loved the look of the bar. The dinner menu was kind of short and we just did not see anything we wanted so we ordered wings. The wings were great. We were there on our 10 year anniversary and we thought it was wonderful that we were given free champagne. Waitress was great. We had a very wobbly table so that was a little frustrating but we would go again for drinks and appetizers.
We absolutely LOVE Prohibition and recommend it to anyone coming to visit Charleston. My family was there on Saturday night and our night there was fabulous - as always! Our server, Tim, was great with us and entertained the kids and was certainly knowledgeable about the menu, attentive to our drinks and needs during the meal.
Can't wait to come back.
Got the tasting menu. Everything was great and so glad we tried it!
Amazing service and food! One of a kind cocktails. Started our first trip to Charleston off on the right foot for sure! Highly Recommend
Fun place, great music, food and service!
Excellent experience! This venue is exceptionally perfect for any occasion, from a casual night out to a "impress the date" type venue — incredible food, cocktails, and ambiance. I will visit again!
The look is more club than speakeasy, but once seated and greeted by our server, Zach, our imprepressions went from "huh" to "whoa!". Zach went through the concept, the cocktails (in detail) and ran through the menu. He was always attentive, noticing drink levels and clearing, and we never felt rushed nor abandoned. The cocktails were classically constructed, but had nice personalized twists. My bacon-maple old fashioned and my wife's aged 547 manhattan were excellent. And as good as the service and cocktails were...the food blew us away. Apptz of devilled eggs w/smoked trout and the shrimp toasts were enjoyed...then jockeyed over for add'l bites. The mains of shrimp & grits, a burger and the koji-aged steaks were awesome. The portions were generous, but we did manage to CRUSH IT. Desserts were beignets and a chocolate mousse that was gone so fast I never learned its name. The food, drinks and great service made this one of the highlights of our Charleston stay. Loved it
Service was a little slow but the food was delicious.
In Charleston for the weekend with my lovey wife, went to Prohibition for Sunday brunch. The staff was great, patio fans kept the mood cool even for July, and the brunch was delicious. The food was well presented and the taste was amazing. We will visit again!
One week in Charleston eating amazing food and the last day we went to Prohibition and it topped them all. Outstanding!
I picked Prohibition on a whim and I am so happy I did. Our server, Savannah, was professional, fun, and nice. We got the chef's menu, and had to alter it for a food allergy. The chef not only honored the allergy 100%, but the food was amazing. Everything I ate was to die for. You owe it to yourself to try this restaurant if you're in Charleston.
We had a great brunch! The French toast was amazing, as well as the corned beef. On top of it all, they had live bluegrass music! It is a must try when in Charleston!
Lively fun environment with good food and great music. Loved the dance lessons offered to prepare the willing to dance to the live Cuban music that followed the lessons.
Hip spot with amazing craft cocktails and selection. Food was great and the service staff were super helpful and friendly. Great spot for dinner or cocktails and appys.
Food and atmosphere were phenomenal. Our waitress Allson took care of us very well and was very personable. Live band had a horn section, old school, sounded so good. It's bachelorette party-central on Saturday night, but fun and well worth it!
Matt was a great server! Dana was a great hostess! Loved the music and the ambiance.
Rainy day but we sat outside under the covered patio. Great breeze. Amazing drinks recommended by our server! Excellent food as well. Small lunch menu but great options,
Lovely staff. Fantastic drinks. As one passerby put it, "very Instagram-able". We had a lovely time.
Very attentive server. Drinks were handcrafted for sure.
Great food & drinks.
Great food, great service, seats lacking in comfort
Catch of the Day was the perfect dish, cocktails were the best I had my whole trip! Atmosphere was like being transported to a whole different city and it was the perfect night!
Great service - bluegrass music and the best brunch ever! Hubby and son had chicken and biscuits w sausage gravy and added 2 over easy eggs on top.... not a crumb left. The other entrees were just as great. We will be back! Zack was the manager and was very personable as was the whole staff
I made a reservation based on positive reviews. Arrived on time for my birthday dinner, only to find our table had been given away to people that were too hot out on the patio. After finally going back and forth with the hostess, the manager stepped in and tried his best to accommodate us, but honestly the mood was already ruined. Finally, we were seated at a table near the band, a little noisy but better than nothing I guess. Our server was lovely, she really made up for all the bad stuff. Sadly, we were not aware that the place turns into a club shortly after 10 pm. We were still eating dinner, and tables were being moved and a crowd of people filled in around us, mind you we were still eating! We attempted to order dessert, I wanted to blow out a candle, but were told that the kitchen was closed. Not very well run. We should have been notified that kitchen was closing in case we wanted anything else.. No birthday wish! Not a great overall experience. Sorry, won’t be back. This was our introduction to Charleston. Not a good introduction.
Food was amazing! Would definitely go back. Four of us split a number of smaller items and enjoyed every bite.
Service was phenomenal! Food was delicious! The live music was fun, but we sat right next to the stage and it was difficult to carry on a conversation because it was so loud.
Zach the manager runs an amazing place! The food and drinks were very well crafted. We had a mix of foodies and non dining and everyone found something they loved (the peach and heirloom tomatoes w/ Burrata) We were dining for a bachlorette party and both Zach and the band gave our bride special shout outs, making the night very special.
Our waitress was awesome. We were a party of 8 and everything was spot on. The food was excellent. Had the grouper special as well as multiple appetizers for the table. Was so good went back the next night. Highly recommend,
Wish I would've stayed here longer, but had plans and had to leave after an hour or so. Everything (service, ambiance, food) was amazing. They were getting set up for live music, which I wish I could have stayed for. Highly highly recommend!!
We were celebrating our anniversary. Our servers were amazing, I unfortunately cannot remember their names, but they were so kind and took exceptional care of us.
The only negative was the couple next to us that broke up. It was weird, and that is no fault of the restaurants. So 5 stars!! Thank you for a wonderful experience and a happy anniversary date.
Sat outside for Sunday brunch - beautiful garden area. Terrific food - loved the corned beef hash! Waiter was excellent and very accommodating to special requests!
It was EXCELLENT! Food was pricey but very very good. Our server wasn’t overly friendly but got us what we needed. If I lived there, I would totally go back.
Band playing for brunch seemed out of place for brunch. They were good, but more of an evening vibe. Shrimp and grits was bland (why the large pieces of kale??). Biscuits and strawberry butter were nice. My mimosa had maybe a thimbleful of orange juice, which was awesome. I needed the extra booze to deal with the volume of the band. Biggest source of confusion is the name of the place. "Prohibition" invokes images of the 1920s--flappers, cocktails, jazz, Art Deco anything.... This place looks like the inside of a whiskey barrel. Raw wood everywhere, mismatched chairs, suspenders, vests, mason jars, etc. It was more like a Great Depression Era theme. Shoulda named it The Dust Bowl, or Hoover's Flag.
The food was excellent!!! The cocktails, amazing! The seating was very uncomfortable, the seats were painful to sit in (all high top) and we were literally like 3 inches from the people on either side of us.
Very nice service, food great, drinks amazing. We would go back, hope that we could seat on the patio nexr time.
Shrimp and grits were amazing! We went on a Sunday night and they had a great band and Swing dancing lessons in the back of the restaurant. We loved watching the dancing!
