   Don't believe the menu on OpenTable or their website. It's changed. Half the items listed are no longer offered. Mostly the seafood and vegetarian (Cauliflower Tacos) options. The items that remain are 20-40% higher. Definitely $$$-$$$$. Closer to $$$$. Service was amazing. Everyone was extremely attentive. Food was good, but not exceptional enough to justify the prices.

   Prohibition DTLA was an amazing experience for my girlfriend, and myself. As our first experience there, upon entering the corner establishment the ambience combined with the friendly and professional welcoming of the hostess, was quite inviting. We had originally gone there with the reservations for a table. However, my girlfriend noticed on the wall, an inviting the neon sign labeled, “the rabbit hole” and it was too much for her curiosity to bear. We asked the hostess if we could descend into their speakeasy bar and the hostess gladly obliged. Upon traversing darkened hallways , we made our way into the surreal and fantasy like realm that they’re underground bar had to offer.  From floor to ceiling was amazing decorations and motifs centering around the Alice in Wonderland story. The room came equipped with its own personal DJ spinning fantastic music, that had my girlfriend and myself dancing close to one another, drinks in hand, and enjoying ourselves, surrounded by comfortable seating. Speaking of drinks, the bartenders were quite creative and had a menu of specially designed cocktails for that evening.  One drink in particular for me, I can’t member the name exactly, II was “the Don- something”, but it came with Mezcal, which I cannot say no to when combined with a creative concoction, especially the one they had offered us. We stayed until closing. It was an amazing experience. The staff on hand were attentive, alert, and overall it was easily in my top five restaurants and bars that I have been able to visit in downtown LA.

   Proabition was an absolute fantastic experience. The ambiance inside gives you plenty to look at in the best way. Our waitress was V and she was so wonderful. Gave us excellent information on the drink and food menu. She described items in detail and made you want to try everything. She made it a point to let us know that a lot of stuff is house made. That is something to be proud of. The drinks where fantastic and appealing to the eye and tastebuds. The food was well flavored and perfectly cooked( I ordered a medium well burger and my husband salmon). We finished with a wonderful birthday slice of cheesecake which was house made as well. That cheesecake wasn’t so dense like most cheesecake and it wasn’t a bad thing. It was absolutely perfect to round out our meal. A side note, we loved the fire thrower entertainment and the violin playing DJ! If we ever find ourself back in LA, we will absolutely be back!!

    Great place, there wasn’t a lot of people but it was during fight week so it worked for us, they have valet which is great, food was amazing , the drinks were also good and our server was amazing as well, we have a amazing experience especially with the dancers and all we will be coming back again

    Really wanted to like this place. Went before a show at the Ahmanson. Unfortunately the main course was terrible. It was part of a Dine LA special. The main course was gnocchi and it was literally inedible. The drinks were good. We weren’t able to actually eat the main course and the waiter offered no solution. There was what appeared to be a manager or the owner constantly walking around seemingly aimlessly but never checking on any of the guests.

    This is a cool spot with great ambiance and food, but it gets REALLY loud pretty early. We had dinner reservations at 730 and were yelling at each other the entire time because the music was so loud. I get it if it's late and people are dancing, but during dinner it was ridiculous.

    My only complaint is that they do not have still water/ bottled water. Other than that food was great, service was great. Initially was sat at this little in the isle seating which was uncomfortable and my friends seat was uneven because of the flooring, we then were moved when we asked and it was no problem.

    Please be aware that there is a strict 90 min in and out expectation when you go there. We were never informed until we were told by the waiter who proceeded to rush us through our very expensive meal. The pressure to eat and get out was ridiculous!! The food was mediocre- Mac and cheese cheese was dry and horrible. I would Never recommend this place to Anyone.

    Nice atmosphere for a energetic date, I got the salmon, it was good, 7/10. Not too flavorful but the texture was perfect. Anything with Parmesan was extremely good. Music was very loud and energetic so it was a good vibe for what we were looking for.

    It was my Birthday & I received a nice surprise of a Complimentary Tequila Shot with sparllers! My Dinner was Fabulous, I had the New York steak with garlic mashed e& grilled asparagus & it was Delicious! After 2 of the Endless Summer cocktails I was feeling Amazing! That didn’t prohibit me from drinking a third which was sent to my table from a couple a few tables over to wish me a happy birthday! I will definitely be back when I’m back in LA.

    This was such a spectacular restaurant with prompt service, delicious cocktails, and the best RnB throwbacks for brunch. Oh and the Chile Verde Benedict eggs were fire! The ambiance was so nice and the fine touches of velvet chairs, Alice in Wonderland theme, and signature drinks …amazing. Five stars!

    Oscar helped us and he made my daughter feel so special for her bday. The only thing I would change is turn the music down a little so we can hear each other talk. But overall We would definitely come back when we visit.

    The ambiance is what you are paying for. The food is just ok and nothing really wows you on the menu. The fire dancer was a pretty good experience and the DJ was a nice addition as well. All the food came out fast and was hot and fresh. The salmon was overcooked but they gave us another piece which was more properly made and gave us free desert.

    Went for lunch on a Saturday, reservations at 2pm. This is why such a quit noise level. Food very tasty, didn't know it was brunch. Service was above average. Wish the restaurant's web site stated it closed between brunch and dinner. Will definitely return for dinner.

    Service was really amazing. Polite staff with excellent customer service. Food taste great and came out fairly quick. Tasty drinks. The restroom could’ve used tidying. We came for the fire experience but there was no show. We arrived at 6:00 and left around 8:30 waiting for the experience that probably happened after we lift.

    Had reserved a table for two for the "Experience" that was being held. Even with a reservation, once arrived, the wait time was an hour to be seated. The service level is not up to par as it took way too long to see our waiter, let alone get a follow up "how is everything" visit.

    I went to celebrate my birthday. My experience was not a good one. Had reservations and still had to wait about 10 minutes. We got seated inside of a doorway ( small space) and my food (salmon) was cooked for too long. The fish was hard and dry. The doorman or bouncer was nice and I encountered him when I was outside waiting on an Uber.

    I loved the energy of the servers and the way that they deliver drinks! The ambiance was super vibey and fun. There is a beautiful speakeasy under the restaurant as well. I highly recommend getting the Brussels sprouts. They were a 10/10. The roasted chicken was alright - a little too salty.

    It wasn’t really busy at 7:30 on a Thursday and when the DJ started at 8, you couldn’t have a conversation. The brussel sprouts were amazing. The hamburgers were okay but the ribeye tacos were a little too tough. The service was excellent. Very limited menu. $15 to park in the empty lot next to place seemed steep. With a million choices of places to go, probably wouldn’t go back.

    We were in LA for the weekend and had never visited the restaurant before. We were pleasantly surprised! The walk up is beautiful and the staff was so welcoming and friendly. Timothy was our waiter and he was very friendly and attentive. Thanks for a wonderful experience!
