It was sixth time we visited the Primo.
Each time everything has been perfect , meal , staff, owner Samir who visited a couple of times.
Great place that you love to visit .
There were 4 of us for Thanksgiving dinner and we give Primo's 10 thumbs up.
We took the family for the Thanksgiving dinner. Outstanding! It was a true American meal. It started with butternut squash soup and ended with a great pumpkin pie. Every thing in between was exactly what we would do for Thanksgiving. The turkey was just right, Masked potatoes and stuffing were very tasty. And I was pleased with the green bean casserole. Every thing had a good flavor, not over powering at all. This was the first time for us and we now have a place we will go for Thanks giving for life. Primo is for us a fantastic restaurant with an Italian flair and we always totally enjoy dinners there. But the Thanksgiving meal was pure American and sure made our Holiday a day to remember. It was so good. Service was outstanding and the ambiance is beautiful. It a place not to miss.
Loved the ambiance. Food was good. Location great. Had a visa gift card worth $300 and no one could figure out how to use it. That was disappointing.
It was our anniversary so I assumed something special would be presented to us like a free dessert. No big deal food and small appetizers were excellent especially the beef barley soup they have us while waiting for the main course. Overall good food great atmosphere:) will definitely come back here. It’s too bad we weren’t able to try the tiramisu unfortunately they ran out quick.
Primo has always and continues to be my very favorite restaurant in Salt Lake City! Thanks Samir!
We went to Primo to celebrate a birthday and it was a wonderful treat. The service and food were both simply amazing. The owner of the restaurant stopped by several times to check on us.
It was a slow night when we dined at Primo so the staff allowed us to sit in an essentially closed area right by a fireplace. The food was great and the service excellent. The chef visited our table twice and sent a complimentary s dessert that was out of this world. Great place. Would recommend!
We dined at Primo Restaurant for our anniversary. We were seated at a very quiet table area. The wait/server staff were friendly and very attentive. The chef visited us to check on our appetizer, which was excellent. Both of our entrees were fabulous. Primo is a primo restaurant. Five stars...
Our Anniversary, requested a special table for private romantic dinner, seated in pretty spot across from fireplace. Chef can out personally to describe the Veal special, which I ordered and it was Amazing!! We will return
Unfortunately we don’t have much to review. Went on a Saturday evening for dinner. After being sat on the patio, which is quiet and comfortable, we were given a tasty amuse bouche of bruschetta. We weren’t given menus until our server arrived almost 5 minutes later. But, she quickly got our drink and food order. We were served a wonderfully crisp and delicious Caesar salad as a starter. That’s where the good experience ended. We ran out of our initial glass of iced tea and it was taken by our server for a refill. It never returned. Almost 30 minutes later we were told there was no lore tea (we didn’t have the heart to ask why they could not brew more?). Almost 1 hour after our order was taken we were told the food would be just a few more minutes. A lovely assistant server told us this because after removing our salad plates our server never stopped by our table a single time and would not even look our direction when walking by our table. After another 15 minutes of waiting for food, and overhearing the table next to us remark that after 1 hour 45 minutes they received delicious yet cold food, and still not having seen our server for over 40 minutes we got up and left. We weren’t asked anything while walking out. The hostess, after hearing we were leaving without having been fed or paying, simply said, “Have a good night.” The food I saw looked wonderful, but we only had salad.
Anniversary Dinner. 5 people, 5 Delicious meals. Lamb was outstanding, Veal was Sensational. Desert was incredible, Everything was Great, Lots of Wait staff, and a complete Success. We will be back.
Great place to have a business meeting. Food was delicious and servers were super attentive. I always enjoy seeing the owner come to our table to ask how everything went.
This is a lovely restaurant where I have always had great food. Our evening on the patio was perfect, quiet and relaxing with good service but not hovering.
Very prompt, courteous service. Food arrived quickly. Steak was perfectly cooked-medium rare.
Halibut was delicious. Would have liked to see a dessert menu, but none was offered. However, there
was a card returned with our receipt offering a free dessert with our next reservation if it was made
directly with the restaurant and not thru Open Table.
Definitely would recommend this restaurant to friends and Family.
EVERYTHING was great — as ALWAYS! Great service, great Chef and owner, great wine and SUPER-GREAT food.
We live Primo! It’s our family’s GO-TO restaurant- we feel like they are all our family.
Primo's restuarant is delicious and absolutely beautiful. Would highly recommend.
Overpriced for the brunch buffet. Will plan to try the menu at some point. A bit of a disappointment for Fathers Day.
Service and ambiance are very good. Food was decent, but just not worth the price.
This was our second time to eat at Primo. I just can't say enough good about this restaurant and the owner, Samir. We were treated so very well and the food was prepared and presented in a most exquisite way. The flavors are amazing. My wife had the Halibut and I had a New York Steak and both were perfectly prepared and presented. It is definitely a 'high end' restaurant with the kind of prices that you would expect at such an establishment but oh, what a wonderful experience. The atmosphere is quiet and relaxed and you can actually converse and hear each other, unlike so many restaurants with their loud music that are more interested in ushering you in and out as quickly as possible. We were celebrating our anniversary with another couple and Samir treated us to a beautiful dessert at the end of our meal that was light but so very delicious. We will be back... This restaurant is a gem.
Great experience. All of the staff we encountered were friendly and respectful. I’m glad I found Primo. I will be dining there again.
I have not been to Primo for quite some time. The ambiance was quiet and relaxing. Our table was in an area that felt very private. The service was awesome and quite attentive to our dining experience. We started with the crab cakes which were delicious. I ordered a salad which was colorful and fresh. We both ordered the Halibut special. It was delightful and cooked exactly how I like my fish cooked. Tender. We also had wine with our dinner and that was very good as well. I would definitely go there again.
I rarely rate my experiences at restaurants, but this experience was quite different. The owner/chef was amazing! Very friendly as was the rest of the staff. It was quiet so it was easy to hold conversations. Food was great. I especially liked the cheese-filled squash as the appetizer. The whole table couldn’t stop talking about the bread they brought out. I had the chicken parmigiana and really enjoyed it. It come with two pieces of chicken so you will not leave hungry. This will be a regular place for us.
Where to start. The place is a step back in time to the 1970’s. Not much of a food selection for a $50. a plate Easter Brunch. No Easter Decorations. Dark restaurant. The food was cold and hard except for the fresh omelets, the prime rib was good. The side dish. Just 1. Was cold. One of the waitresses heard my wife and I talking. She knew we thought it sucked. She brought us out some good bread and some chocolate cake and ice cream. She saved the day! The omelette guy was very nice. We thought we would try somewhere new for holiday brunch. We won’t come back here. The owners need to go to a brunch at Grand America or Stein Erickson. That’s how you put on a brunch.
Primo was an amazing experience. From the hostess to the server to the ambience and the food. I suggest this for anyone who is looking for a good Italian food and a mellow atmosphere
This was my second visit. The first had delicious pasta with bolognese sauce, so I returned and our table ordered orange roughy and chicken picata. The fish was moist but slathered in butter; the two chicken dishes were overcooked and dry. The vegetables were uninspired, and mashed potatoes were loaded with stuff to be avoided.
Amazing experience! Food was great and service was amazing!!! Can’t wait to go back!
A very special evening with guests. Honored our request for the table location. Very attentive and professional. Food was very well prepared and presented.
Awesome place. Great layout, beautiful interior and the food and service were outstanding. Looking forward to going back over and over!!
This is a restaurant that my husband and I have been wanting to try. The restaurant is in a former reception center and is connected to a spa and salon, which is a bit unusual. Since the restaurant was once a reception center, it is very large inside, but the tables are tucked into nooks, so it feels very private. The service was outstanding and the food was very good, though pricey. The server first brought out bread and two pieces of bruschetta. I loved the bruschetta. We next shared a Caesar salad, which was just ok. For our main meals, my husband had the veal special and I had chicken piccata. Both were delicious.
We had a wonderful experience at Primo’s. Our friends from out of town were very impressed and we had such a great evening there. I recommend it all the time to people I know & will continue to return to this outstanding restaurant.
THe service and the food were fantastic, as always. Thank you, Samir and staff, for making our night at Primo a great one!
A gem we didn’t know existed. Excellent veal piccata and orange roughy. We’ll be back.
The hostess seated us, walked away and after 10-15 minutes a young male waiter finally asked us if we had been helped. It just got worse from there. I had to ask for menus and a wine list. 20 minutes later the same young male waiter asked me if I ever got the wine list that he was supposed to bring me. 2 to 3 different people brought us food. We never did see the male waiter again. I had to ask for more water and the people with me were not asked if they wanted refills. The food was good. The service horrible and to top it off they overcharged me for a dish.
Great service, food and ambiance. We didn’t feel rushed and were able to visit with our friends. Loved the round table!!!
Great Food 🥗 Great Service👍
One of the most memorable dinners I’ve had. The staff was great and the food was better. We felt we were taken care of extremely well. I will definitely be back.
Every month a group of 6 get together to celebrate life & the memories of those we have lost 😕.
The food was mediocre. I really expected more. For a Saturday night the restaurant had few patrons. The menu was limited but specials made up for it. The meat sauce for pasta was below average. I will try again but be forewarned.
The restaurant was beautiful! It was very quite and that was great for our Anniversary dinner. The food was good but even better was the service!! I cannot say I have ever had better service any where ever! Our waitress was great. She knew when to check in and when to leave us alone. They have a separate bar staff that also checked on our drinks, and made an amazing chocolate martini ( that was my dessert!) speaking of dessert, my husband got the tiramisu and it was fabulous!!
If you are looking for a quite place with great service and food, give Primo a try. They also have several party rooms which would be great for big groups!
