Pasta dishes were good but my guy and I split a salad- very small portion and then split filet! Cooked perfect but served with nothing on the plate- large plate with naked piece of steak! No sides; very poor presentation from a chef! And it was not inexpensive! Cool place but needs some help!

Excellent food - completely different taste - lighter and delicious. Service was warm, friendly, jovial and attentive. Both Drew and Bo took good care of us this evening. We had Calamari, Iberico Pork Chop, Veal Marsala, Gnocchi and Ravioli, and each of us had trouble stopping. Wine selections are excellent. Even the Biscotti was soft(er) and delicious. If you wish to savor Italian cuisine with a different taste from “normal”, you ought to give Primo a try.

Dinner was fantastic. Steak delicious and cooked perfectly to medium as asked. Drew and Alexis were fantastic servicing our table. Drinks were very good, bartender was excellent head, phenomenal personality. Price pro bourbon quite high. Other than that great experience.

We loved it! We weren’t sure about fine dining in Middletown but we’re very impressed. The service Drew provided was top notch. The food was prepared perfectly and the wine was fantastic. The vibe was traditional and romantic. We will be back!!

Overall, the experience was great for our anniversary. The only downside which I did address was the music did not fit the venue instead of light, ambience, jazz or something without words it was more of an upbeat 70s retro club type feel. When you’re paying $300 for a meal for two person with an Italian type venue, you would expect a little more elegant ambience. The 70s and 80s retro music.

Outstanding. GM Frank is welcoming and Megan did a great job with recommendations. Classy, great food, relaxed atmosphere and pace. Too many choices so we will definitely be going back. Bravo!

Great place, however, I would recommend adding cushions to your outdoor dining area. Everyone agreed it was quite uncomfortable.

Our reservation was at 6 didn't get out of there till 9. Took one hour to get a small piece of cold bread. Ordered steak medium came out rare, waiter never checked on us after food came to send it back. All of our meals were barely warm. One waiter for the whole restaurant. Way overpriced for the portions, quality of food and lack of service. It was a very disappointing birthday dinner for us, will not be back

We dined here for Restaurant Week and tried nearly everything on the special menu. It was all so delicious and perfectly cooked. We really enjoyed a night out with our family and the staff was just incredible and so welcoming. A definite must-try in Middletown!

Primo Italian seems to want to be a fine dining establishment and we really wanted it to be as well; but unfortunately it just doesn't deliver. I applaud the vision but execution suffers. They were very understaffed and our waiter was intrusive - stopping us mid-entree to tell us about dessert options. We had an ok time but certainly not worth the high prices considering we could dine at Son of a Butcher or Jags and have a much better experience.

Food is always outstanding. I had the pork chop. Absolutely phenomenal. The mixed vegetables was a divine add on. Staff was attentive and the drinks were delicious, we got to try a soon to be added to the menu Tiramisu martini that will bring me back for drinks all fall and winter for sure!

The pasta is amazing and made fresh with flour from Italy. The Tiramisu is to die for. The chef and the staff are all amazing and welcoming. We come back regularly because of how great every experience is.

Our waiter Drew was quick to ask if we had been there before. Since it was our first time he explained the experience and flavors of food we should expect during our visit. It was a nice dining experience, not rushed. The wonderful lemon sorbet to cleanse our palette after the salad was a beautiful added touch. The Oss Buco was super tender! The flavors reminded us of our trip to Italy, very light and fresh.

The construction of the lasagna was perfection in my expert opinion. Layers of delicious pasta held in place with a mortar of Bolognese to die for. The burrata salad was crafted to perfection with the most delicious candied beets I have ever tasted. Atmosphere is the perfect foundation to build a special occasion on or impress your prospective clients! Drew is the best foreman behind the bar I have ever had the pleasure of working with controlling the flow of the full dining experience with perfect timing.

What an amazing experience! From start to finish top shelf all the way. We were celebrating our anniversary and we could not have picked a better place. The chef even came out to make sure all was perfect. Top tier authentic Italian cuisine with superb steaks! The service was by far the best we have had in years! We will be back again and again!

I grew up in the Middletown area graduating from Madison in 1985 and haven’t been back in 20 years, we live near Batavia so this was a little farther to drive for dinner than usual. We enjoyed everything from your friendly staff that met us at the door to our waitress…they were perfect. The food was old school Italian and we loved it. Next time you want to try something different in a town that isn’t known for outstanding food. Give Primo a try as you won’t be disappointed.

Reading other reviews from a variety of web sites, I have decided that Primo gives you a 'love it' or 'hate it' experience. I am in the latter. We found service to be courteous but uneven: 1. It took 5 minutes for someone to greet us at the front door. 2. When we did not order any beverages, we were given two 4 or 6 once glasses and a bottle of water to fill ourselves. 3. The busser took my spoon before my spimoni arrived. I had to eat it with my dinner fork. 4. When the dessert spoons were placed in front of us, they weren't on the same side (right or left). Just the closest side to the server. Crumbs and any spillage was not cleaned off the table as we ate. The server recommended I try the pork chop--'the best I've ever had.' It was big...and blah. It was so tasteless I found myself wanting to have one of the BK burgers I had for lunch. It had no seasoning--or the seasoning they used covered up the flavor. My wife took a bite and she said the same thing. She had the chicken/pollo dish. It was okay--nothing to say this is a primo restaurant. The chopped salad (no olives) and the desserts were good, but we were there for our anniversary (no one mentioned that when we arrived.) and for the main course. Now, I will have to arrange for a mulligan on last night and go somewhere like Jag's or Johnny's Italian SteakHouse where I can actually feel like I had a dinner worthy of the price and the occasion. We both decided before we left that we wouldn't be going back.

Last night was our first experience at Primo. We had reservations for a high top in the bar area but switched to a beautiful two top next to a window looking out to the outside dining and sitting area. We had browsed the menu briefly before gong but we were only set on the Beef Carpaccio. It was over the top with perfect seasoning. While making decisions on our next courses we enjoyed good wine chosen by our server. We shared a perfectly prepared pork chop with spinach and cheese raviolis with a sprinkle of squash for color and taste. We had a wonderful desert that I will not name because you need to choose yours from a wide selection. We were happy everyone was dressed to impress. We plan to return soon. It is a drive from West Chester but so is their other place, Prime in downtown Cincinnati.
