I had a gift card that I forgot about so I decided to have a pre surgery night out, so I made a reservation at Primehouse and booked a room at the James Hotel for the night. When I went down to the restaurant, I found out that my gift card was no longer taken after an owner change. My server Kevin was so superb, giving me comp treats through out my dinner, which was also superb, that I really felt special, and I went up to my room with memories of a wonderful time. Thank you Primehouse!

Birthday dinner, service was less than par (bus boy as a server?) food was good, but for the price of it all, did not hold up to expectations. I know they are closing, but why not go out strong rather than flat. And that’s kind of how our group felt. Sad to have such high expectations when we had booked.

Steaks not cooked to desired temperature. For an $85 steak, you would expect more. Desert dry. They are closing in 2 weeks, so clearly they don’t care.

we saw this online and we make the reservation. Actually there are many steak house in Chicago is good but we choose a soso one. The price is high and the food is soso too. The fires has some cheese flavor we dont like it

Heard some excellent reviews of this restaurant but our experience with the shared Porterhouse was poor. Meat undercooked and then when returned back from the kitchen completely charred. Waited 20 mins more of reorder food while our guests continued the complete the meal. Not impressed and won't be back.

Terrible Thanksgiving Dinner, turkey was tough and the gravy was not much better. Not sure how they do with there steaks but I would be suspicious of a restaurant that can’t cook a turkey. How could the possible serve a decent steak.

If you are a fine wine enthusiast, you need to droo in. They have the corvin system that allows you to enjoy fine older reds (10 to 20 + years old) by the glass! The 55 day dry aged ribeye Rare with a nice char is one if the best steaks wver! Fantastic

I've always enjoyed the menu at Primehouse. The steaks were exceptional this time, as always. However, my friends and I were slightly disappointed that the pop-over bread is no longer on the menu. The bread is definitely one of the highlights and unique thing about Primehouse. The sourdough bread is something that we find at every other restaurants and it wasn't that great compared to other places we've been at. The overall experience was still great, because we obviously came for the steak, not the bread, but definitely something I was looking forward to coming back for.

Service was excellent. Knowledgeable, helpful, friendly staff collaborate as an impressive team. Super attentive. We had not expedienced dry aged before and after the first experience we are not fans. It doesnt help that although the ribeye came medium rare as ordered, the strip also ordered medium rare came medium to well. The salads were wonderful. Great presentation and taste. Sides were tasty though very modest portions. Fortunately an additional side came out compliments of the house.

We had a great first-time experience. I have a food allergy and our waiter was extremely in tune with everything on the menu and was very helpful and accommodating; worry free dining is hard to find sometimes. We made a reservation got seated right away. It was a quite night and we had excellent food and excellent service!

To whom it might be concerned, Hope you are doing great! Would like to share with you our experience, so you can improve. First Impression is extremely poor. Felt judged by look by the hostess. Our server Jackie (Jack) was amazing! Great knowledge about food and wines, was excellent. Food was delicious. However, experience with hostess ruined all experience. Hostess gave bad looks about most of the customers while looking at colleagues and walking them to the table. I am working in Park Hyatt in California and my partner is working in The Peninsula Chicago and we were extremely disappointed. Inform your hostess not to give a look to people from head to the bottom. She looked how we dressed, our jewelry. Felt very uncomfortable. Training will be appropriate. Best Regards, Anna Shirshova

We were visiting Chicago and heard great reviews about Primehouse. I can only say that our meal was superb. The steak melted in my mouth and the favor was amazing. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Chicago. The staff was also an added extra bonus. Very knowledgeable and friendly!!

We went here (9/11/17 6:30 table of 3)on the recommendation of a coworker who had visited in 2015. Upon arrival, it looked like a standard hotel steakhouse. That being said, it was actually far from. It would be an understatement to say it was the best steak (35 day KC Strip) I've ever had (and I've had plenty). We asked about the dry aging process and were invited to take a tour of the storing area. Everything we saw was explained in great detail. It was refreshing to SEE that what we were promised was actually what we were getting...NOT a marketing gimmick. I apologize for not having names of staff to thank. Kudos to all 11/10.

Hands down best steak we have ever had! 35 day Kansas City strip is the one to get. It's big enough to split and it won't disappoint. We ordered it medium rare like we would a filet. It was tender and better than any filet we've ever had. Order some wine and a couple of sides and you won't be disappointed.

We've been going to David Burke's Prime House for years. Last Friday went for my wife's birthday and found out it is no longer David Burke's. It's just Prime House. And it's just not good. The steaks were barely fair, and I had to send mine back because the meat quality was terrible. The potatoes had no taste. And they no longer serve the popovers. Now that it's no longer associated with David Burke, it's not longer anywhere near the same restaurant. Expect for the prices. Those are still as they used to be . . . high. Won't go back. It's the disappointing end to what was a very special restaurant.
