The food was very good, as was our server. The woman who was hosting (who I'm told is the owner) was horrid. She messed up our open table reservation, then blamed me for making it after she meant to stop accepting them. We agreed to wait for 15 mins for a table and then she barked at us for standing at the host stand, although there was no room at the bar or elsewhere. She then said we should go somewhere else - basically telling us to leave. We would have, but getting a table anywhere else that was decent in that area on a Saturday at 8 would have been very difficult. She offered us nothing for our trouble and was generally rude. After we were seated and she was out of the picture, dinner was nice. She should hire someone to run the front.

I love Prime. The food is always top notch, and their choice of steak always superior. Prime has a varied menu, but I like the set menu for a set price, which includes a 4 course meal that you can vary and still be well within a be cent price for such quality. I prefer Prime to places like Ruth Cris, because it is local and the food just as tasty, but not at the ridiculous price. The Manager / Owner is a beautiful and attentive woman who cares deeply about your experience, and seems to know everyone who comes in by name. Just seeing her is reason enough to come in. I highly recommend you come in very hungry, and you won't leave dissatisfied.

The service was great and helpful with a rather confusing menu. The portions of all meals were quite generous but the steak was unflavorful. Maybe that's how the chef prefers to prepare, but a hint of salt goes a long way. The place is very loud because it is small and the music volume was way up. Nevertheless, this was a good place for a group. They handled my OpenTable reservation for ten without a problem. I would go back but make special request for how to prepare my filet.

This was a restaurant was recommended by some of our co-workers who lived in Ventura as one of the better Steak houses. We were disappointed. The food was good, but not great as described. Nothing special about the steaks. Hold off for Ruth's Chris, Morton's, Cut, Lowry's,, or Mastro's. We probably won't return.

Price fixe menu was nice, but no dessert? Prime rib was tasty but skimped on horseradish sauce. We were visiting from out of town, looks like it might be a locals favorite. Party of seven we were seated at table for six. It was a good dinner, we were hoping for great.

We really enjoyed the quaintness of the small dining area, however, since it is so small, the noise level is very high. We ordered from the Prime Special and the food was excellent. We had a new waiter working only his second day, considering it was Father's Day and very busy, he did a great job!

The owner and staff make you feel special, even on a hectic day like Mother's Day. We found the "special" list of wines and their prices extraordinary, even though we brought our own wine. We didn't have to. The food was as expected, prime. The only downfall was the lack of a dessert list, something we really didn't need after dinner anyway. I highly reccommend this energetic eatery.

Our third trip there. Don't be fooled by the outside, or the location. An excellent place to dine(not just eat). Great service, incredible food. I suggest the "Best of Prime" menu. I would recommend reservations, and they will accommodate you. We have never been disappointed, and neither have our guests. We will return often.

Went at 7:00 pm on Saturday night. It's pitch black when you walk in and took quite a while for eyes to adjust. Very noisy/felt hectic. The food was good (prime rib), but I wouldn't recommend the 4-course meal. I believe you can get just as much of an entree on the a la cart menu and save the money (feel like I paid extra just for a quarter of a head of lettuce as the wedge salad.) I would just as soon go to Outback: just as noisy, but doesn't feel as cramped.

This place offers amazing value for high quality steakhouse fare. The wine list is well-chosen and priced unbelievably fairly. My server was terrific and knowledgeable about the food and wines. My only problem was that the booth I was seated in was not secured to the floor, and when I stood up, it and I toppled over. Just an embarassing part of a memorable evening.

I can't recommend this restaurant only because it was SO noisy. We had to yell. Plus when you first walk in, it has a musty odor.

Second time dining here and probably last time. This time the salad was good, but our steaks were not the same quality as before. Plus we asked for charred on the outside and medium rare on the inside like we always order our steak at other restaurants. This time the steak was burned and very bitter. In fact so bitter , we could still taste the bitter when we got home. They burned the steaks do much that the meat was very tough.
We don't usually return food, but this time we should have.
It really wasn't worth the $150 tab for two. It included drinks, but it just wasn't that good.
Sorry Prime we really wanted to like you.

LOUD! Unaccomodating. Mediocre food at steak house prices. There was a crowd waiting to get in, probably for the music. They probably should advertize themselves as a date night place with food. As a steak place--forget it. We were a large party of 7. We asked for a quieter table, but they prefered that we leave so they could seat someone else. On a Saturday night, with no reservations anywhere else, we opted to stay. My scallop appetizer was like shoe leather and my prime rib just so-so. Others in our party had better luck with their appetizers. But it was too loud to carry on a conversation, so who knows. Creme Brulee desert with berries was reminiscent of cough syrup. I was embarrassed that I made the reservation.

we wanted to celebrate Our mothers 92nd birthday with an evening she would cherish She was always a big Sinatra fan,we decided we would surprise her. We had never been there before so we didn't Know what to expect. -she loved Sinatra and liked pasta so we Made a reservation. From the minute we walked in we were Impressed. We felt we were transformed to another place and time, a time where service was of the upmost importance- the martinis were pricy but Perfect , the service was excellent the -The pasta was delicious and the dessert was sinfully good- the Sinatra live music was magc. I have not seen my mother so happy in a long time- We definitely will return for many more special occasions- mom told us her experience at prime was "magic"

Food and service were great. I think they have live music some nights, which seems strange for a place that otherwise has the ambience of an upscale steakhouse. I went on a Monday night, and there was no music, so it was fairly quiet. The regular menu has many appealing choices, but I went for the fixed price menu, which, unlike many fixed price menus, included several options for appetizers, salads, entrees, and sides. For my salad option, I selected a salad with mixed greens, pears, apples, and honey vinagrette dressing. The rest of the food was good, but this was the most memorable part of the meal for me - one of the best salads I've ever had!
