Waited over an hour for our food. Rib eye was gross, way too much fat on it. Calamari was only five bites as an appetizer. No side options with rib eye. Way too pricey, food was terrible. Service was horrible. Food is way overpriced.
Finally after seeing this pop up on OpenTable dozens of times we decided to give Prime a shot. If I were traveling into the Silicon Valley, or bringing in someone I would certainly make this hotel a consideration due to this restaurant/bar. The restaurant and bar is in the lobby of a hotel - bar and restaurant share seating, so the decor leaves a little to be desired. They have a neat collection of outdoor seating with fire features but it was too chilly for us to want to sit outside. Interesting craft cocktails. Creative but overpowering use of smoke for the 'smoke and rye' cocktail which includes a charred rosemary sprig. Charred sprig left burnt 'floaties' in the drink to avoid. The cask-aged old fashioned was better. Fried calamari app'y was very good - everyone was fighting for the last morsel. Steakhouse burger served with a fried egg and bacon on it was tasty, but the bacon should have been more done. It was chewy and made it hard to get a clean bite of the burger. Big portions of food meant no one had room for dessert.
There's simply no better place in the area for a business lunch.
Food was good, but it was horrific service. I went during lunch with a client, and we both ordered salads. The four of us were the only people there aside from two people at the bar. It took them 30 minutes to get us our salads, and only after I approached the waiter (who was chatting it up with his coworker) and asked what was going on.
Salads were good, but not much variety here (either salad or sandwich).
This was my first time here and was really disappointed.
Dinner for 2. 1 steak, 1 Salmon, 1 mashed potatoes, 2 glasses of wine = $105
Steak was very tough.
Potatoes were over salty.
Salmon was undercooked.
This is a hotel bar with a menu. Not a steak house inside a hotel.
Prime is a great find when it comes to a perfectly located place to meet for a weekday business lunch. Reservation are available, food and service are great, and the outdoor seating includes a pool view. Nearby competitors are either of questionable quality or massively over priced.
Very expensive. Two glasses of Pinot was $35. Steak was okay, served on a slate which was weird because meat juice was every where. No real selection for young teens except an over priced burger. We needed some type of appetizer so we decided on
“ bread & butter”.. you would think a basket of rolls would come out but we literally got 4 slices of toast and butter! I ordered a house salad but it never came . I asked the waiter to not bring it now because he was serving our dinner. Two steaks, two burgers, 3 cokes and 2 glasses of wine and our bill was $ 276.86
My poor husband almost had a heart attack!
really disappointed. whilst our server was friendly and nice everything else was a let down.
this is not a restaurant, it is a Hotel lobby section turned into a bar that happens to serve food. The dining tables are so close to the bar that you end up being the bumper for someones buttock.
\ --- steak was cold and tough , served on some sort of square rock shale piece that kept skidding around on the table.
No clear signage on when and where the restaurant starts - and no matrade' per se , we did find their ipad and figured out where to sit based on that.
Outside seating is an afterthought - whilst they have gas flames, there is no actual usable heat - so after we were frozen out of the outside area, we relocated inside only to be at eye level ( and nose level ) with peoples butts.
What a delight! Scheduled a business lunch at Prime this week. While the music was a bit loud, the food was fantastic. We had a starter plate with blue cheese and pate, which was presented elegantly and delicious. My entree (Arugula salad with King Salmon and Avocado) was exceptional. The salmon was cooked perfectly. Best of all, the portions are perfect: not too big and not too small. A tip of the hat to Prime. I will definitely be back.
Very good food and service. Not cheap but probably much better value than other high-end steakhouses. Prime rib can easily feed two people.
Great sliders. Good calamari but could add more to plate. Nice salmon and salad.
Everything was fantastic! Food, service, quantity, ambiance, seating, roominess. Loved outdoor seating as well.
A quick lunch in Santa Clara. Good food and great service. Very convenient.
Well let me begin by saying eating on plastic plates st their price is not right. Very expensive to be eating on plastic plates. I dessert prices were very expensive. $14.00 for a slice of key lime pie is way too expensive

Couldn’t get to the restaurant . We booked for valentine night . Got there at 7:10. host was unavailable and was told later to wait for 20 min but waited until 7:49 , no sign of apology or courtesy. We got fed up and left . I will never go there
Food was under cooked. Had to ask other waiters for things like steak knife to cut steak, refill drinks, and check.
Did not research as well as I should have in regard to this being a hotel bar/lobby restaurant. Not that being housed in a hotel is necessarily a bad thing, but Prime is pretty much right in hotel lobby. The meal and service were above average, but honestly a bit pricey for the whole package.
We didn't realize Prime was a small hotel restaurant when we booked it - we were expecting a nice steakhouse like Flemings. Some of the food was reasonably good and the service excellent, but the menu was very limited and the food was extremely expensive for what you got. I wouldn't return unless I was staying at the hotel.

I found the restaurant in my area on yelp. It was my wifes birthday so i wanted to take her out to have a nice dinner and wine since we have a busy schedule and dont have time to enjoy a nice quite dressed up dinner. We arrived 15 minutes early and was informed that the back still had alot of people. Which it was fine since we were early. So she said we could sit at the bar until a table is open.. so my reservation time came up and we were going to get seated.. only to come to find out they sat us at the bar table area.. Why would i make reservations to have dinner at a bar area with a sports on tv.. so i am very disappointed that they did that.
The food is tasty, although the steak is very very lean. For such a price range, I did not expect that the restaurant would be effectively in the lobby of a mid-range hotel. The wine list is short, but very well selected. In terms of value for money, there are many other better steak restaurants in in Silicon Valley, and even in Santa Clara.
Great sustainable food options with friendly and attentive service.
I got the house salad. They didn't wash it. My first bite, my mouth was full of grits. I never had such a bad meal ever. The place is empty for being in Silicon Valley. 3 tables max. For $60 per person, value was very low.
This is not an impressive venue. We almost left and went to another restaurant but it was rainy and late. As it turns out the waiter was very earnest and helpful and the food was good. They don't have a huge menu but just enough variety to please our group of 6.
Name and write ups indicated that this was a very good restaurant. However turns out that its just a typical hotel restaurant. Nothing special.
This was a recommended place for lunch from a co-worker. Not sure if it was an off day for Prime, but the restaurant was empty for a lunch hour in silicon valley. The waitperson that assisted us took care of the bar as well as our table. Service was very slow. We had a group it took 1 hour to serve us. With many options opening in the area, they should look at stepping up their game

My husband and I had the 2 for $55 special which includes salad or soup, entree and dessert. There was a good selection of entrees to pick from. I had the safood pasta which was excellent. We ate at 5:30, early for a Saturday night, so the restaurant was very quiet. The server was very attentive.
Amy, Amanda and all the other staff are fantastic at providing customer service and an excellent product

We weren't terribly hungry so we each ordered two appetizers. We were delighted with our caesar salads. My husbands sliders were very good, but the excellent award goes to the calamari appetizer with squid ink - delicious and innovative.
Very good restaurant and service was excellent. Our group was in the industry and we all were very happy with our meals. A little better wine list would be better. Thats about it. Overall a very pleasant, relaxing experience.
Kinda pricey and it had the typical hotel vibe, but the food and service were great.
We had a very accommodating/resourceful server by the name of Manuel. It was my birthday and usually this restaurant doesn't prepare a candle for a celebrant to blow, but he managed to find one for me:)
This is nothing more than tables in a hotel bar. We were seated surrounded by people propping up the bar watching sports after being by the pool. I was embarrassed to be dressed up and trying to have a nice meal with my husband. The prices are ridiculous. $52 for an 8oz fillet steak. $52 for a steak at a bar. No sides.
The food and service here is great! Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. The steak was cooked and seasoned to perfection. The calamari was my favorite dish that had olives and candied lemon slices with squid ink- a combination I never thought would go together, but tasted amazing! Another dish with squid and grapes (not on the menu yet) was also very good. You can tell that the Chef put a lot of time and effort into creating these dishes because the food here is very unique and different and tasty too! I would definitely come back!
This seems like an attempt to create an upscale restaurant experience, but without really investing properly to do so. Nice menu, table tops, and setup. Excellent service and helpful, cordial reception stand personnel make you feel great. But the food is WAY over priced, and for no reason at all... $52 for an 8oz filet seems crazy for this place. We opted for the $35 9oz petite, which was not quality meat! Not cooked well and almost seems like it's been in the fridge for a while... Chose this place due to it being close to the Levi's stadium, and I know it is new (we're putting up signs when we pulled in), so plenty of room for improvement.
