Sunday brunch is horrible. The girl in the front Michaela is rude and so unfriendly. She always talks about how tired she is and bosses everyone around. The food is lack luster. The cast iron lids are so heavy and there is no where to put them. Cold french toast, no toppings. Meats are dry, salmon is decent. Not worth $50. They open at 11am but you usually have to wait 10-15 minutes.
Our experience was great !! we love the food and the presentation also, place was clean and very nice people at the front and also waitress.
definitely we will be back
The food presentation was excellent and service was great! No rush. It was a relaxing experience.
The staff is very professional and personable. especially Jessica and Makaela. The service is sometimes a little slow because the demand is so high but Makaela has a knack for keeping the overdemanding crowds under control with her people smarts had humor. Jessica is a very entertaining and interesting bartender It is a pleasurable experience everytime.
Well my date stood me up but promised a rain-check.
There was two things that really stood out; Service & Food.
Service was exceptional. Right on target they knew what I wanted before asking without constantly interrupting my meal. Real professionals!
The food was top of the line cuisine! Right down to the fresh fruit, seasoned to perfection! Certain dishes that I was familiar with had unexpected differences that were brilliant together, kudos, kudos!
The atmosphere is unique offering different sections for the experience your looking for. Give them a try and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did, piece out...
We live close to the, newly named, Jamul Casino. But, we don't gamble locally, preferring Vegas that offers a lot more dazzle and shows along with the gambling.
We had visited before, when it opened as The Hollywood Casino. Steak Restaurant, at that time, operated at a high level. So, we went to this steak house expecting steak and lobster. Instead we found they had a buffet on Thursdays and that we were stuck with that. But we tried and it was a huge disappointment. I have had occasion to visit the El Cajon Salvation Army for a charitable activity. There we were fed and the food was far superior in taste than that buffet. Admittedly the buffet offered crab legs of which we did not partake that had to add to the price, but I did try the "prime" rib and found it to be tasteless. Enjoyed the horseradish though. My wife likes salmon, but she didn't try it because it looked "off." The rest of the items were over seasoned for our taste with hot spices. There was one item that was similar to succotash which was the best offering.''
Pork, I believe, was the other meat selection and it looked so bad that I did not wish to try it.
The bread pudding was awful and the other desserts, although fancy to look, at were overly sugared and uninspired.
We ordered a couple of drinks and they were okay.
The bill came to well over $100 and we gave a nice tip because the place was almost empty and we felt sorry for the waiter.
The use of a buffet could be explained by the clientele, none of which seemed well heeled, but rather at the other end of the economic strata.
In the casino we were surprised to find slot machines that were very old, some, and others that had a theme of Wonder Woman from many years ago, not the recent. Many penny machines. As to that, we were delighted that we broke even and left.
The entire experience does not bode well for the survival of this gambling venue.
Have enjoyed many meals at this restaurant. Looks like an upscale steak house but dress code is not enforced. Steaks are pricey and good. Sunday Lobster buffet is worth cost, which is usually subsidized by meal vouchers from casino which make it a fantastic value! Thursday night Crab buffet had lots of delicious choices, however I found the crab legs just too much work and mess for too little meat.
A very nice and classy restaurant. It was a very nice surprise to be given the opportunity to dine there. Thank you so much and may your business prosper.
Today was the best experience we have had yet at the Sunday lobster buffet. The food was Delicious today!
You can only get two tiny lobsters tail at a time at Prime Cut Jamul while other casinos such as Barona you can fill your plates with lobsters tail, that is what you call BUFFET. In Jamul the lobster server monitors you how many times you have come back and give you the tiniest tail for second time around. Is that worth $50 per plate? The Open Table really works for reservations. Good Job Open Table!
Great place to dine. Great ambience and Yeh provided excellent service!
I have gotten to the point that I sit in the bar because it's the best service & he has an excellent personality!!
I've been to Jamul Casino Buffets twice now and their buffet style food is fair at best, and not worth the price. I've been for dinner on a few occasions and their menu is outstanding and steaks are exceptional. I would highly recommend if your ordering off their menu, it's a bit pricy but well worth it.
Buffet food has been room temp both times and the flavor and quality was borderline.
Food was amazing. Service is very very slow. Even just to have a beer delivered. This was our second visit. Same both times. We will go again because food is very good and we just go when not in a rush.
Wait time for this restaurant is usually an hour. On our last visit - wait time was less than that. And I loved how our food server catered to my husband’s request for steamed rice - service extraordinaire.
The portion of meat is a little smal on my second timel..for the price...I hope they'll serve a bigger portion enough for one serving..appetizer is very good, calamari and ahe poke...
This was our first time at Prime Cut and quite possibly our last. We went to the buffet on Sunday. The host was rude, not only to us but other customers. The server wasn’t even paying attention to us and gave us our bill before we had even gotten to taste our first plate. It was a complete mess and made me lose my appetite. I was not the only person upset so it was just us. Sad because I had high hopes and was very excited to eat there.
Be sure to get in the left lane that isn't marked for reservations. Otherwise you will wait until they return through the line. Hostess isn't the most friendly representive of the casino. Not worth the $50 for brunch. The server was great once we're seated.
I put in the reservation that it was our anniversary and they did nothing. Our waiter was nice but he took forever with everything. My steak was cold
Very nice place .very romantic setting great customer service professional staff.my reservation was at 8pm and they called me at 8 no waiting.just want to say thank for a great experience.
Scotty the Bartender is awesome, attentive and always there for you. He knows his booze, wine and food and would not be the same if he wasn't there. Thanks Scotty for making our dining experience a wonderful occasion every time. You rock! So, when is the new menu coming out ? LOL!
High end eatery. Missy, our server was a gem. Food... fantastic appetizers, steaks. The whole dinner was top notch! Service very attentive and we didn't wait long like other reviewers claimed. Would go again in a heartbeat.👍👍👍👍
We arrived for our 5 pm reservation, second party to be seated. It took 55 minutes to get our main course of steak, au gratin potatoes and a baked potato. Steak was room temperature, au gratin potatoe dish was hot but the potatoes were cold on the inside, baked potato was hot. Very disappointing to hear from the server that our ticket is next in line after 40 minutes especially when we were the second reservation to be seated and they JUST opened. I like my steak hot and not room
temperature, it just didn’t taste good. Service was slow and not very attentive. The place was not busy at all and it took that long for our food. Not sure if I’m going to give it another try. Executive Chef came around and I told him my concerns, hope he gets his staff in check. Same goes with the food court! That place is a hot mess too!
My wife and I had a great dining experience at the Jamul Casino Prime Cut Steakhouse last Sunday (our first time). Excellent menu and food selection. Outstanding dining atmosphere.
Restaurant have about 12 tables seated and they claim the restaurant is fully booked. Its ridiculous to turn people away with so many empty tables. Don't know what is the strategy of the restaurant
The food was exceptional and so was the service. Beautiful view at sunset and it was quiet just the way we like it.
We waited almost an hour to get served. When we finally did, my steak was lukewarm. The food overall is good but the service, the wait time & the prices are not. It's just not worth the drive to Jamul.
The food was really good, weve been there twice now and enjoy trying new items from the menu. Quick service
It took a long time for food to be prepared and served. We have dined here more than once and it always takes a long time. Be prepared to wait an hour for your dinner. The place is perfect for quiet conversations.
The food at the Prime Cut was beyond my expectations. I had the Lamb Chops, they were perfection. The Calamari was absolutely the best I have ever eaten, the sauce was very tasty. Our server was so friendly, so attentive, and deserved to be tipped generously.
Great food & service. The Filet Mignon was very good, just a bit pricey
The hostess was not friendly. My waitress omly came to ask for our drinks and when it’s time to pay. The food were not even good. Not a lot of choices for a price of $50.00 per person. I only went due to the jamul dining free tickets. Very disappointed.
Prime Cut has amazing food and amazing staff. Everyone is so professional and friendly. I ordered 22 rib eye and I usually order it medium rare but it was over cooked a bit for my taste. Needless to say I still ate it without complaining. I also had the grilled asparagus and the was good to. Best of all is the tranquil view of the mountains. I'll definitely be back.
Came to visit daughter. My favorite place to eat and game!
Mac and Cheese side was amazing. The filet was also excellent.
I was very excited to enjoy my meal. But was pretty disappointed when I started eating. I asked for my steak to be well done, well done it was actually it was burnt! Not just burnt but charred, Like it caught on fire and didn’t get Put out. I couldn’t even eat the steak. Then there was the Mac & cheese... I was very excited since this is my favorite dish but unfortunately it was so salty I could not eat it, it had a delicious flavor but the salt over powered the flavor. I didn’t want to complain because my meal was comped but I did bring the burnt steak to my servers attention when she cleared our table. On the plus side the buttered baby broccoli and the fingerling potatoes were delicious
Food it's amazing here. Buffet it's set up outside of restaurant and food it's next to machines just separated by a marked line. Foo it's really good but options are so little for what it cost. Lobster it's only two pieces by person at a time but it's too small for only two pieces. Service it's amazing and staff it's very attentive but need a better set up inside, include few alcohol drinks for that price and of course create food variety.
We booked a table for ourselves and a guest only to learn when we arrived that it was a buffet. Barely average as buffets go, and therefore way overpriced at $50. As usual, service was unbearably slow.
Adding to that, the Chef was acting as Host at the time and never checked us in on Open Table, so we were marked as a no show. I called the next day, but my call was not returned. Finally, I appealed to OT to correct the mistake, which they did.
I will say, however, that the bartender, Scott, is amazing, and we only go back because of him. And we only eat in the bar. Otherwise it’s a 90 min to 2 hour experience.
For the most part, the food is good. Just don’t expect a great buffet for the price.
Food is served outside of the restaurant by the slot machines... where people can cough and blow smoke in the air. The food is held in pot warmers and is kept luke warm. The staff tells you confusing lines to stand in, and if you ha s reservations you still wait in line. The Lobster buffet is not work .50 let alone $50.00. I was bumped up to the pearl card so I got the meal for FREE yet I would never EVER return there again!!! They are trying to keep up with the “Jones” and FAILED! They only give you two lobsters at a time! And they do not even have common condiments like cocktail sauce ! Ohh boy don’t let them run out of food... it takes about 20 mins for them to bring out more luke warm food! You can experience a much better lobster buffet at Barona for less than $50 on Wednesday and or go to Viejas where their buffet includes beer wine and champagne! Trust me DO NOT GO HERE... free or not free you will be mad that you wasted your time! I got it for free and I am mad I wanted my gas driving there!!!
