Prime & Provisions Steakhouse
While the menu reconnects with traditional steakhouse roots, the decor highlights the vintage opulence of 222 North LaSalle's "Crown Building" and creates a social experience that connects the modern-day patron with the sophistication and glamor of the era in which the building was first constructed.
Prime & Provisions also offers a variety of private and semi-private dining spaces, including Prime Private, one of the largest and most intimate private dining rooms in Chicago.

This was an unexpected pleasure. Having visited many steak houses in Chicago which we love we had never heard of this restaurant. It is incredible from the meat to the ambience to the server to the wine list everything was perfect. Servings are generous and exceptional quality. The single and only complaint is that when bagging leftovers they should be double bagged-on our way home the bag broke while crossing the crosswalk. We were so looking forward to our leftovers and there was our two half steak and our chicken and Mac n cheese in the sidewalk. So sad! But do NOT miss this incredible spot - beautiful and delicious
It was great
Cigar area is key to the restaurant
Went here for a happy hour date. The food was very good! We ordered from the happy hour menu and had fresh oysters, oysters rockefeller, cheeseburgers and lobster rolls along with a few dirty martinis.
Our server was very attentive and the overall level of service was excellent.
Terrible overall. Food was nothing special and service was worse
Food was just ok and very expensive compared to other steak houses. Waiter was just ok as well.
Nice outdoor dining option (lunch or dinner) in the loop.
it was good. Not awsome as it was billed. There are better steak places. watch out for the 18% built in tip on the bill.
Great restaurant. Perfect restaurant staff. Easily the top 5 places you need to go in chicago.
The two best things were the mac & cheese and the server (Dino).
Dio was outstanding a true gentleman and a wonderful waiter with a great personality. He made us feel at home for my friends birthday and we most certainly will be back again.. thank you dio!!!!
Food was delicious! Highly recommend! Server was very nice just not very attentive.
Food was not great at all. Lemon chicken was dry, lamb chops had no flavor. Drinks no good. They supposedly have a business casual dress code but there was a guy with a jersey, sneakers and jeans on. They tried to tell my friend about her shorts bc they thought they were denim when they weren’t. Servers were nice.
top notch.. fried chicken was on point, tomahawk steak was fantastic!
sides were much better than those fancy chain steak houses..
Will be back
My wife and I truly enjoyed ourselves at dinner. The food, ambience, decor, our server made this an amazing experience and one that we won't soon forget. Matt, our server for the evening, was attentive, kind, knowledgeable and helpful. Would highly recommend this restaurant!
Our time at Prime & Provisions completely exceeded expectations. The food? Phenomenal. The atmosphere? Incredible. The wine? Wonderful. The wait staff? Amazing.
Beware, though, they take their dress code seriously. We watched security enforce it on quite a few couples while we awaited our table.
Overall, 12/10 experience. We will absolutely be making our way back the next time we're in Chicago!
We wish it would’ve been mentioned somewhere how charred the steak would be. It was definitely overcharred and undercooked for medium rare. I’ve had much better meals. Steak tartare and artichoke salad were both good. Not likely to return.
Great food and service.
Team made every effort to make the occasion special, great time
This is such an excellent place, and the best steakhouse in chicago. But the BEST part of P&P is Nate. Best host I’ve ever had, professional, attentive, super friendly. Make sure to ask for Nate, there is no one like him in the city.
This place is amazing never disappoints. The food is phenomenal and the service is outstanding
Everything was awesome with the exception of Oysters Rockefeller. They had good flavor but were not served hot they were a bit under cooked too. Howverr
So it has been some time since I was last here. Things have changed. I still love the decor and setting. The food however has slipped. Our oysters rockefeller came basically room temp. It tasted great but still. Then we shared a porterhouse and two sides. The porterhouse and sweet potato were good but the creamed spinich was again luke warm at best. It seems to me there's some trouble in the kitchen. Our server wasn't happy about it but didn't offer anything to compensate except to bring another one which we didn't want. And the capper is 18 percent gratuity is automatically added. I don't have an issue with tipping but I find that when it's automatically added the staff doesn't have the incentive to be great.
Our server Christina was excellent and gave great recommendations. I had the bone in rib eye and hubs had the crab legs which we’ll both be back for. She recommended the lobster mac and cheese and was delicious too. We were there early enough surprisingly for $1 oysters so he had half dozen.
We will return for a night out again soon. Thanks for a delicious dinner and great dining experience
Food and service were great! We ordered the Kobe, bone in ribeye, filet, potato skins, bacon, mashed potatoes and asparagus.
Was almost turned away because someone in our party were wearing sandals. After seeing several other patrons wearing sandals as well! The only response was a shrug accompanied by “maybe I was in the bathroom when they came in, I didn’t see them”. Really don’t expect these type of one sided discriminatory practices when patronizing restaurant in The Loop!
Had an amazing time for my birthday !!! Everything was delicious !!! My rib eye was cooked perfectly, the Lobster pasta was fantastic.. The staff was extremely accommodating and all CDC protocols were followed and I can’t wait to go back…
Great place to take a customer and strike a deal over an excellent entree!
It was a great a wonderful dining experience. Everything was exceptional, our server Ruben was so knowledgeable about the menu and helped us a lot with our decisions.
The steaks are subpar for the amount of money you have to spend. The sides are ok, but nothing special, other steakhouses are much better. The dessert was mediocre. Overall, the food experience was not good, especially given that it is more than $100 per person.
Great food, good service, one of my fav steakhouses in Chicago! Would go back.
I went with my boyfriend and everything was great! The oysters were amazing and the steak was just perfect, We had the apple pie a la mode for the first time there and it was amazing. Service was great as usual.
Ted was great waiter/host and really awesome experience. Food was excellent quality and portions. Oysters were a real hit
