Prime & Provisions Steakhouse

The Sunday brunch is always a treat for our family. The selection is exquisite and well prepared. Perfectly cooked tender and juicy prime rib, mountains of crab legs, jumbo four bite shrimp, and briny fresh oysters on the half shell are my favorites. There are also delicious sides such as fresh grilled asparagus, crispy thick bacon, eggs Benedict, rich and creamy mashed potatoes, fresh fruit and more. Interactive stations include make your own omelet, make your own mac n' cheese, and make your own Belgian waffles. The dessert is always divine. My favorite is definitely the creme brule.
Impeccable service, flowing mimosas and build your own bloody marys, in a semi-casual setting make for a comfortable experience. The new DJ was a fun addition too.
A special thank you to the manager, Jennifer, who made sure that we were happy and well taken care of.
Where do I begin! From the FOH staff to the Chef everyone was so professional and provided a top notch dining experience. We ordered the bone in ribeye which was good to perfection and had the best char I’ve had in a long time. Chef Joe was cooking it up in the kitchen and made a special request come true...poutine as a side! Thanks for a special experience!
Great food and service
Food was amazing. Great atmosphere. Humberto and Mickey made the experience and will be the reason we come back. Our new favorite place in the city.
What a lovely evening at Prime & Provisions! And yes, we ordered the House-Flared Thick-Cut Bacon with Black Pepper, Maple Syrup and Dark Chocolate appetizer. Why wouldn’t we? Delicious.
A Valentine's Day tradition 5 years running. Always love being indulgent and coming here. The steaks are of high quality. The blue cheese potatoes au gratin are an excellent side choice. The sommelier stopped by with a few wine recommendations. All in all a great dinner.
Our new favorite steakhouse!
Amazing. Food, as always, was great. Can't say enough about the A5 wagyu. Rob, our waiter, was great - gave us space but was still very attentive.
We had a very pleasant night. It was our first time and our server Cici was extremely helpful and friendly. Excellent service!
This was the best meal I have ever had. The steak was incredible. The staff couldn’t have been nicer. I couldn’t have asked for more. The perfect date night.
Waste of time and money.. food was cold and horrible.
Great experience and am looking forward to the next visit. Highlights:
- The crab and lobster cake may have been the best I have ever tasted with lumps crab and lobster meat. Absolutely second.
- Second course was French Onion Soup with a poet wine infusion. Very good but not the best I have had.
- Main entire was nine in Prime Rib and the 45 day dry age gave it a unique and robust flavor that will bring me back. Very good but parts of it were a tad chewy but I would definitely order again.
- Service was excellent as one would expect with a restaurant such as this. Water never went empty along with the cocktails. Ben, our server, was one of the highlights of the experience with his thorough knowledge of the offerings and his attentiveness.
- The inky negatives I can mention would be the closeness of the tables and the music level. My wife and I found ourselves speaking at an higher octave than we would during a normal conversation.
A great experience and am looking forward to our next visit.
Absolutely one of our favorite places in the city, hands down. Every single item on the menu is outstanding. The fried chicken appetizer is one of our favorite choices, as well as the thick cut slice of bacon, you just can’t go wrong. We tried the crab cake this time and it did not disappoint, it was filled with lump crab, real quality ingredients, it just fell apart which shows it wasn’t mainly breadcrumbs. The soups and salads are also incredible. The steaks are the best in the city, we’ve yet to find a better cut elsewhere. My husband had the Miyazaki strip this time and it was mouth watering. The service is always spectacular, the staff is engaging, knowledgeable and upbeat. They really know how to make the experience memorable each time we have been.
Overall an excellent experience! Delicious food and wonderful service. Highly recommended!
Not sure what happened to this place but the last two times we went which was a while ago, it was great - we went this time for Valentine’s Day and it was really lame - we were there for an early reserv sonit wasn’t packed yet but they definitely failed especially since they are so expensive- the waiter couldn’t wait to tell us how amazing a couple items off their special Valentine’s Day menu were- the lobster and crab risotto and the desert - chocolate cake- since he said the risotto was so incredible my wife changed her mind from what she was going to get to the risotto and it was extremely average tasting and on top of it the crab was extremely chewy. My son had a steak which was ok and I had the Pork chop with a side of their au-gratin potato’s which they somehow managed to forget to bake so it was literally straight out of the fridge so they had to get us another order. Twice I had to waive down another sub-waiter because we didn’t see ours for a while to get another drink and to order desert- we decided to order the special Valentine’s Day cake (for $19) which we split and to be completely honest it was the most lame/flavorless cake I have ever had. I would have rather eaten a hoho from 7-eleven- it was that bad- I have maybe written three reviews in my entire life as I don’t do it to get free stuff or anything like that but when you pay over $300 for 3 people and it has these kind of things happen it doesn’t set well with me- we aren’t fancy eaters or hardly ever complain but this was truly disappointing- won’t be going here again- plenty of other expensive places to go that don’t have this happen
Our server, Patty was most attentive and an overall gem.
Amazing service, food was great. Waiter was very knowledgeable and recommended some good dishes. Good came out exactly how we ordered and experience was great.
Steve our server was amazing as well as the food. He gave us all the information about anything on the menu including allergies. The staff was incredibly helpful and polite and the atmosphere was beautiful and relaxing and personal.
Went to Prime and Provisions for Galentines Day and had the best food and the best time!!!! Kyle was a wonderful waiter and Marissa deserves a raise🥰. The entire staff was very welcoming! Thank you for this perfect evening.❤️
Overall experience was fantastic. Our waiter was very cordial and accommodating.
Had a great time
waiter/server was friendly and engaging. Attention to service topnotch.
It was very busy at the time we were there and the noise level was a little higher than I would have liked it to be but that is better than the other extreme.
Garon was awesome!! very knowledgeable and friendly!
Worst steakhouse experience of my life. They have no clue how to cook a steak to the proper temp. Then they get indignant that they have. Annoying as all get out.
I love this place! The service is incredible. The food is even better than that!
Everything was hands down amazing. From the moment I walked in till we walked out it was a beautiful experience. Our waiter was the best.
Great atmosphere, great food, great service, and what I loved most was the view
Great waiter. Ribeye was very good, not great. Soup, salad, sides and dessert outshined the steak.
Absolutely phenomenal brunch for Restaurant Week! We loved everything we tried. Love them for their steak so we decided this year to try their brunch. Wonderful wonderful wonderful!
Beautiful room. People lined up out the door. Delicious food. Incredible value for restaurant week. Desserts were not that exciting.
The hostess completely ruined the surprise. 👎 She was told by guests who arrived ahead of time and I clearly was indicating my name and that it “was for 2!” Ugh. Otherwise everything was on point and we spent 1,500. Lol.
Not a good experience and the food wasn’t good for the price.
This restaurant always delivers. Great food and even better staff.
Very good food and some of the best service I've experienced. Only drawback are the prices. This place is definitely worth the splurge on a special occasion!
I’ve dined at P&P several times and it never disappoints! Tonight’s service was top notch from Stephen. His personality was great and the attention to detail was amazing. It’s the reason I keep coming back.
Our waitress CeeCee was wonderful. She was very attentive to our needs throughout the evening! We started with the seafood tower, which had 2 of everything: jumbo shrimp, East & west oysters, king crab legs and a lobster. It was delicious! We went in for resturant week, but added to their menu. Having the fried chicken and wedge salad to start, then the filet and fish, and ended the night with their chocolate Carmel cake. It was all very good. We will be back!
One of the best steakhouses I've been to so far in Chicago. Every dish we had was outstanding and the portions were generous.
This was our second time dining here. First time everything was outstanding from the service down to the food and drinks. This time the service was adequate but not nearly as good as the first time we dined, all of the steaks that were ordered camed out not cooked properly and they forgot our sides so we had to ask for them to bring out all the sides we ordered. This is a steakhouse and you would think that the chefs and cooks could nail steak temperatures in their sleep. They did refund us for the sides since they were not served when we got our steaks which is when they should have been served.
Food was excellent. The Restaurant Week menu was perfect. Waitress could have been more attentive , needed to wait for drink refills , knife for steaks and butter when we asked. Bussing staff was very efficient. Tables very, very close together , almost too close.
A great place for a business lunch or evening out. The staff is friendly and attentive. The food is very good.
