We went to celebrate our daughters birthday. The husband's steak had to be sent back, and it still wasn't how he ordered. After it was brought back out, our server never stopped back by to ask if it was OK. Needless to say, he didn't finish eating it. Lobster mac n cheese was runny. The bone marrow was delicious. One of the employees was removing plates as our daughter was finishing up with it. Felt like if you put your utensils down, you were losing your dishes. The plus side is there is a heated screened patio to have a cigar afterwords, and we took full advantage of that. For the money we paid, we probably will not return.

The food was amazing. The drinks were very tasty. I felt the ambience was outstanding and the waitress was very accommodating! The temperature was a tad chilly but overall i had a wonderful dining experience!

The food and service are wonderful. The brakes were really close together which made it a bit uncomfortable but it was tolerable. The birthday desserts were amazing we really loved the vegetarian options. We will be back.

So many great steak places in Chicago but I keep coming back to P&P for what I consider to be the absolute best. Always outstanding specials but the 45 day dry aged - oh man, that is just great!

Went to Prime for a date. The service was great. I had dropped off some flowers early in the day and they had them set up for me at the table when I arrived. Food was amazing, you must try the potato skin with caviar. For being downtown steak house, the prices were very reasonable and the deserts come out with sparklers which was a good ending to the night

We went to Prime & Probisions for the first time based on good reviews. It would have been fine except our waiter was quite possibly the worst ever. I’m tolerant of wait staff who might be new or having a bad night, but this waiter was completely disinterested in our table. Once he took our order, we didn’t see him again even after the salads and appetizer were delivered to our table. The food runners were more attentive than the waiter. When we asked someone to get the waiter for us, and we shared our concern with his lack of attention, he apologized, asked if we needed anything, then vanished again. Meanwhile, the server at the table next to us was completely engaged with her customers and was explaining everything as their meal was served. , We were there to celebrate a birthday. While the birthday was acknowledged upon check in, there was nothing special offered beyond that point. There was a request that any special dessert they may offer for birthdays had to be gluten free. While we ate, several other tables were presented with fabulous deserts with a giant sparkler to celebrate their occasion. Not only did we not get a gluten free dessert request honored, there was NOTHING brought to our table to acknowledge the birthday. At that point we asked for the check and the waiter said, “I’d like to buy you a dessert”. Really!!? Too late. Upon leaving, I spoke to the manager about our experience and disappointment with the service. He offered his apology but nothing more. We won’t be going back. I’d recommend going anywhere else in Chicago except for Prime & Provisions. Don’t waste your money.

The service was a huge letdown. It started well-the hostess asked if we would prefer a booth as our reservation was for a high top due to availability when I made it. A young man came to our table and asked if we wanted still or sparkling. I said, “ Yes, sparkling and he would like still.” There were four other men that came to our table to confirm the order. I guess I didn’t realize it was that tough to figure out! Our server disappeared after our second course. We must’ve waited another twenty minutes after we had finished for him to come and check on our drinks. Our entree was delivered by someone we had never seen before. The entree absolutely delicious. I got the lamb chops and would highly recommend. We again, had to wait a ridiculous amount of time for our server to come back and offer dessert. We declined because we didn’t want to wait for an espresso and cookie.

My husband and I were there to celebrate our anniversary. We like the ambiance, service, and delicious food. Steak was too notch and the sides were very good. We had the porterhouse it was tender and done just right. We had a nice booth overlooking the restaurant. Overall it was a really wonderful experience and we loved the chocolate cake.

This place was amazing! Our waiter was attentive and friendly. He gave great recommendations. The cocktails were ok. But the food was top notch. Somehow we were satisfied with just courses 1 and 2. By the time course 3 arrived we had to take it home! And still ordered dessert which was amazing as well. Such romantic atmosphere. This place is pricey but very much worth every dollar.

Prime & Provision is an incredible meal, from start to finish. Do yourself a favor and order the "off-menu" salad. It is truly delicious. My husband had a steak, I had fish. Both cooked perfectly and very flavorful. It's a win, from start to finish.

Based on some reviews, expectations were not off the charts but, in all aspects this was seriously one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had! And we are not nubes - had Michelin experiences in Paris (Epicure) Vegas (Picasso) Napa (Auberge) etc etc. the steak and sides were insanely tasty, high quality and well prepared. Service was off the charts and atmosphere was phenomenal. Had read some reviews about it being too loud but it was perfect. Great blend of ambient noise, music and could still hear and converse with no effort. Note that we were in the bar in a great circular booth and the dining room may be louder. Waiter was perfect, Manager stopped by twice. Will become a staple for our special occasions.

Still my favorite steakhouse in the city! Flambe bacon, crab cakes and grilled octopus to start followed by dry and wet aged steaks and scrumptious sides. Nathaniel expertly met our every need with speed and a witty sense of humor.

My husband had the 45-day dry aged Ribeye Steak with the peppercorn coating, while I enjoyed the crabcake. We shared the brussel sprouts with elephant garlic and lobster mac and cheese (off menu). Everything was delicious, excellently prepared, and prompt. Our drinks were decadent (Old Fashion and Prime 75). The atmosphere was even better. The staff was attentive, and our server Walter provided insight that was helpful with our meal selections.

The small bites were good to start with. We had the foie gras and the caviar on potato. Cocktails were also well done. Love the branded ice cubes. Oysters were delicious and we got a good bottle of wine. However, it fell apart with the steaks, which should have been the main attraction of the meal. Tough and did not taste dry aged. Very disappointing. The crème brulee did not taste like it was freshly made either. Grainy and not silky or light. Do not recommend.

The 45-day dry aged bone in ribeye was extremely good perfect crust. So crunchy on the outside and perfectly soft and tender on the inside. Extremely flavourful. Sides: mac and cheese and truffle fries also great Dessert: Peanut butter pie was very good

Quality of food was poor, many dishes were out and not replenished in a prompt manner. Plates were constantly unavailable, service was extremely slow. The bar was closed to accommodate the buffet so there was not an option to get drinks before or after dinner other than at our table. Overall this was not a great experience.

I attended the Thanksgiving Grand Buffet. While the price ($95 per person ++) was a little high - it was worth it. The food was plentiful and varied, the service was impeccable and the whole experience was delightful. Definitely a holiday memory to cherish!

Our server, Rueben, was excellent. We had 9 at our table - 2 of them children. He understood that the kids were fussy eaters and took care of them. Our dishes were delicious, and Rueben made us all feel special. Near the end of the meal, Rueben gave the kids a special treat for being so well behaved, and piece of chocolate cake with a sparkler, which the kids devoured. Thank you, Rueben!
