Prime & Provisions Steakhouse
While the menu reconnects with traditional steakhouse roots, the decor highlights the vintage opulence of 222 North LaSalle's "Crown Building" and creates a social experience that connects the modern-day patron with the sophistication and glamor of the era in which the building was first constructed.
Prime & Provisions also offers a variety of private and semi-private dining spaces, including Prime Private, one of the largest and most intimate private dining rooms in Chicago.

What Insiders Are Saying
Prime & Provisions is the kind of steakhouse that fits a few different needs. Steaks are good, plus a few wildcard dishes elevate things to the next step.
I had Sunday Brunch in celebration of my mother's Birthday. The brunch was fabulous. The prime rib melts in your mouth, the omelet was one of the best I've ever had and the seafood station was amazing. By the way...may I have the recipie for the bread pudding?
Waiter was great & food was amazing!
Exceptional service by waiter
Wonderful food, ambience and service. Ruben Chavez is fantastic! Get the s’mores for dessert.
Great food, atmosphere and service!
Poor service and seating. Too loud and tables too close to other ok tables.
What an absolutely wonderful experience. Had family in from out of town and so we met here for lunch and everything was fantastic. Love the bacon appetizer, and the prime rib dip. The family raves about their meals as well. Our waiter, Stefan, was knowledgeable and attentive. Will definitely return!
Had a date night here 11/7 and this place didn’t disappoint. The service and attention to detail was above and beyond! Sat in Rueben’s section and not only was attentive and informative, he was personable. We started with the bacon appetizer and lobster crab cake, both amazing. Moving to our entree, we split a KC cut, but unfortunately the cut we got had more gristle than desired. Jason ( I believe a mgr., bald head, bearded) took care of us! Not only did he have another steak prepared, he also replaced our sides (Brussels sprouts and mashed potatoes). This place is a must! Will def be returning
I think the service is what stood out the most. The food was delicious, but there are a ton of good restaurants in the city. Our server was AMAZING!!!!! We loved our experience there. The only dish I thought was a bit lame was the asparagus and I do believe it could be better. Other than that, I didn’t want our meal and time there to end.
This time around service was unusually slow
Policy of not seating anyone u til whole party arrives is inconsistent with price and type of restaurant meant for business expense accounts and waited until after first course to tell us my entree was not available. Food did not meet price or service and would not return
Sommelier Mike was great! Very knowledgeable and friendly. Food overall was prepared to our request. Very pricey, but to be expected in the Windy City! I would go back for a special occasion... they treat you very well👍
An A+ experience. Worth every penny. Our waiter David was very knowledgeable and totally fulfilled ever request. Also, there was plenty of wait staff that made the whole dinner run seamless. Courses came out on time and spaced perfectly so as not to rush us. The best dinner experience I have ever had.
Phenomenal service! The crew is down to earth and willing to accommodate special requests!
The food and service were very good. However for the quality of the restaurant the noise level in the restaurant was very excessive. We brought business customers there for dinner and we could not hear each other across the table. It was very disappointing. We could really only talk to the person next to us. I would never go there again.
Poor value for the money. Overpriced appetizers and wine list. Pushy waiter kept trying to upsell us, then became a bit aloof. So many better restaurants in Chicago.
Brandee is a phenomenal server. Food was excellent.
Everything was awesome except my date. She was a bore! But I’ll be back.
a fine steak house, great ambiance and very good steaks. The bar and table service was outstanding. Food is a bit pricey as are drinks, so b e prepared for that. Rib eye steak sandwiches, wine and coffee for two hit $100 with gratuity. But, it was good. I will return when I must have a dry aged, bone in, rib eye.
My steak was an end cut and very grisly
Served our steaks at the same time as salads. Sent steaks back. Got steaks when we finished salads and they were overdone so had to send them back again. Manager came by and quickly said sorry as he kept walking. Steak was just ok. Not my favorite.
I was able to bring my staff there for a special outing and Brandee was amazing. The staff even spoke about how nice she was the next day at the office and kept talking about how great the food was. It was a great treat for them all.
I have been wanting the 45 day dry aged Bone In Ribeye for several years... finally got it and was not disappointed.
Amazing experience! We had a reservation for 12, however about a half and hour prior to our reservation we needed to add two more. They made it work and made a table for 14 and we had an amazing dinner! Thank you to the Prime and Provisions staff!
We had an enjoyable evening. Service and good was wonderful.
I was very excited to visit Prime & Provisions for brunch as I am a Chicago brunch connoisseur. However I was greatly disappointed in the selection of food. Maybe it is just my preference but for that cost Inwould think they should have better selections available. The meat is limited and one of the options is fried chicken that looks like it had been sitting for awhile. To be fair I didn't taste it. The macaroni and cheese looked like the most basic mac and cheese you can find at a fast food restaurant and tasted that way as well. The saving grace was the omelet and salad stations. Those were both good and fresh. I also ordered a bellini which tasted like champagne and grapefruit juice so I sent that back. I will have to try and come back for dinner ordering a plate meal, but I would definitely not recommend the $59 brunch. Not with all the other amazing options we have in Chicago that offer a lot more for less.
The staff and service were exceptional and because of that I would like to come back and check out the regular menu.
Excellent service, food and environment. Highly recommend this restaurant!
Went for my birthday brunch and had a great time. Service was outstanding, food selection diverse and would go back there again!
Best steak we have had for ages , with attentive service. Very energetic atmosphere.
Brandee esa really kind and give great attention. Te food was excellent
Great Food, Great service. Very expensive though. Portions are large.
The restaurant was very pricey. The steak was delicious. The lamb was WAY over sauced. The potato was overpriced and had way too much stuff on it. We asked for a plain one with sour cream. The sour cream was over loaded with chives. The apple pie had too few apples which were over baked, with too much topping - it could have used less topping & more apples. We were disappointed - to say the least
Food was great. Loved every moment. However, nothing kills an experience as when plates are removed before everyone is finished eating. Everyone. This is fine dining 101 type stuff. Just hate when that last person is left with others seemingly staring with nothing but clear table in front of them. Poor soul feels out of place and typically rushes through......in this case it was me. I expected more. Perhaps I'll just start announcing the basics before ordering. "Dont touch anything until everyone is done".
We had a great time and wonderful food. Jessica was our server and was not only on top of suggestions but also personable. We plan on returning as there were multiple items on the menu we had trouble deciding on. Ended up with the Rib Eye which was great. The sides were perfect for splitting.
The food was very good, but the food is extremely expensive, even for a restaurant of its type. Some of the portion sizes were also quite small (lookin at you whipped potatoes). The service is excellent and overall we had a wonderful dinner.
Beautiful upscale steakhouse with excellent service!
The food was absolutely excellent. In our group of four, everyone had something different and we all enjoyed our meals immensely. The service also was very good. The only disappointment was that the wine list only has very expensive options - a glass is $20+ - so it feels like price-gouging when whole bottles of the same wine can be purchased at a local grocery for substantially less than the cost of a glass. Other than this one issue, I would wholly recommend the restaurant.
Great place to celebrate. We were celebrating our 25th and our friends were celebrating their 35th wedding anniversary.
The sommelier noticed that I had brought a special bottle for our celebration and he approached me before we were even seated. They charge a corkage fee.
The bread service is on request, and I suggest you do. The bread was more of a bread popover which was a nice touch.
Soups were good, recommend the clam chowder and French onion over the lobster bisque.
Steaks are from ranch in Kansas and are aged on site.
I had bone in ribeye, loved the way it was finished; salt pepper and grilled to a crunchy exterior with a super juicy middle.
A slice of chocolate cake was great for sharing to cap off the evening.
