We felt like we were invisible.
Always a terrific experience. Food is delicious and service is professional but friendly. Beautiful setting, great wine list. You can't go wrong!
This establishment has quickly become my favorite place to dine. From the warm welcome we received the moment we arrived our experience was one that made us anticipate our next visit! Our waiter was the pinnacle of perfection, always within sight, always checking up on us without hovering. He was friendly and knowledgeable and made insightful recommendations that were absolutely, to-die-for delicious. Their wine offerings are fun and varied and the tables are spaced well, making the experience an intimate one even when the place is hoppin'. Prime is a shining light in a beautiful location. All we can say is, keep up the good work and see you next week!
This place is very classy with outstanding decor and views of Huntington harbor. The food was good but very much on the salty side. There were no salt and pepper shakers on the tables. I had beef Wellington which was excellent except that I ordered medium rare and got medium well instead. The waiter offered to have it re-done but I didn't want to wait another half hour. He graciously gave us a dessert, gratis, for the error. This is a special occasion place with very high prices. The food, though good, was not great. The overall experience, however, was worth it.
Lovely venue for my son's birthday
We have been here many times and we love it so much we keep coming back. The food is excellent and the view and decore are really nice. Jamie was our server. We have had him many times and he is the best.
Unbelievably delicious cuisine, fabulous service and tranquil views of sailboats floating atop a glassy surface. Outdoor heating lamps above allow for al fresco all seasons.
as per usual everything about the dining experience was excellent
Went two days in a row. It was that good.
Came here for restaurant week. Food and service were great, and decor was fantastic with the great view. Real gem in Huntington. Great to go there before dawn to enjoy the view of the bay.
VERY ENJOYABLE MEAL AND AMBIANCE
The food was great. The portion size was good. The service was great. I would definitely go back.
View of the water and space itself very nice. Food was top quality and very tasty. Service impeccable. We'll definitely be back! Highly recommend and will not disappoint
we went for restaurant week and were disappointed with the choices on the menu. The skirt steak was chewy.
I had requested a table near the window and was told that our party of 5 was too big. After we were seated in an uncomfortable banquet, another party of 6 was seated at a window table that was expanded to accommodate them.
I have dined and sent many others to dine at Prime. I can say this was the first time I was so disappointed as were my guests.
Great for Huntington Restaurant Week.
for a steak house Prime fell short ...the skirt steak i had had no taste and was so bland even salt n pepper couldn't help the taste. The spicy tuna roll app was outstanding as well as the creme brulee.
I was with my family at Prime for the restaurant week and i was very disapointed with the waitress service. They never asked if we would like another drink, or how was the food, pr if we would like anything else, or even offer coffe for dessert.
Had a great meal and great atmosphere....service was great!
Most of my visit to Prime was delightful. Upon entering I was seating near the fireplace. Before I was seated I told them that I did not want to be seated in a place that was noisy. It was a raucous crowd and then I was moved to the dining room which was much better. I had the restaurant week menu and my appetizer was falafel covered shrimp with a delightful yogurt sauce. It was such an innovative combination and it was exquisite even though I think they used the tiniest shrimp they could find. My entree was salmon. It was acceptable, nothing spectacular. Dessert was a walnut tart with absolutely delicious cranberry ice cream. I will return again to try their regular menu.
Four of us enjoyed our dinner very much - Restaurant week in Huntington so the prix-fix was a GREAT deal.
Food was delicious & well presented, our waiter was very attentive & the location on the water is a plus!!
Had a great time service and food was great
Expensive but the food, service and view were perfect.
Noise level was a bit high for private conversation though.
For what it is or supposed to be, Prime is disappointing. Service was not good. I had to call the waiter over the entire time for drinks, dinner order, dessert, and most disappointingly to ask for our table to be cleaned of significant food bits after the meal that they just left there for us to maneuver around. The food was good; but not great. This place is a magnet for non-locals; locals tend to go elsewhere for the most part. The atmosphere is superb. The ambiance outside with views of the harbor is great. The bar scene is lively, with lots of men and women looking to notice and be noticed. If you're looking for amazing food and impeccable service, go elsewhere. If you're looking for ambiance, atmosphere, and people ogling, then go.
my husband and I enjoyed the food, but as we sat down the waiter came over and didnt tell us his name. (not a good start Also we sat outside as requested and were less that 2 feet away from the tables on either side of us. We could all hear each others conversation. For spending over $200 on dinner I was very disapointed and have never experienced this at any other upscale steakhouse. It also seem to be a "meat market" at the bars. Food good, but overall no happy with the rest. Dont think we will be returning!
the food, the view, and the drinks are as remarkable as the good service.
An awesome experience every time! Love the food, presentation and service. Always a treat to go.
Prime is always incredible! Amanda at the bar treated us with great care. :)
had open table at 9:15 seated at around 10:15 not happy, i have been here quite a lot and it seems to be they are always behind seating time frame they need to be more organized with time slots
I cannot say enough about the atmosphere at Prime. The place has a great Vibe and city look to it. The food was excellent, steaks well cooked and flavorful. The only knock on this place would be the cost. I have no issue paying good money for quality meat, but there price exceed even places in the city like Smith and Wollinsky's and Peter Luger's.
We had sailed from New Rochelle to Huntington (West Shore Marina) and had always wanted to eat here. Every course was great; from the oyster appetizers to the filet mignon (cooked to perfection).
Our server Rob was attentive and gracious.
Beautiful restaurant, great location on Huntington harbor, food is mostly good, but considerably overpriced. Our party of 4 began with a dozen delicious briny oysters, for entrees, one medium rare sliced steak sandwich with over-cooked dry pomme frites, two excellent black and blue encrusted sliced tuna plates, and a skimpy tasteless lobster roll with spinach salad. We split two unexceptional molten chocolate cakes for dessert accompanied by coffee. The bill was 219.40 + 40 tip, Not really worth it for an overall unexciting meal.
Overall, i had a great experience. Unfortunately, the only thing standing between me and an even better experience was my date!
It was a beautiful night , we went on a Thursday which seemed to be quiet but I was with my sister so it is more a couples place , except for the summer
Wish I could get points for this restaurant. Jill kramer
Prime is the place to be to see the sunset and have great food. We keep coming back for more. My hat off to the chef. The service is great the view is spectacular and the food is second to none. If you havent gone here yet, make sure you go before winter.
We arrived on our boat, piloting across LI Sound from Norwalk, Connecticut. We wanted to treat my aunt and uncle to a special day on the water. Plenty of dock space. Be sure to call ahead for dock availability and ask about dock fees. They apply the fee to the food bill, which is a nice touch. The a la carte brunch was very good. Casual dining, but be prepared to open up the check book. (The girls had mamosas $10 each, prime hamburger/fries $19, etc...not to worry, it was a special event. It was for my uncle's 70th birthday!)
All around great experience, very much worth the trip...we will definitely be back.
Prime never disappoints! We've dined at Prime on several occasions...each time with different friends. Each time our friends become regulars themselves...after being totally blown away with the with the attention paid to the cuisine, service, decor, ambiance.Prime probably has one of the most extensive wine lists/cellars...ever!Prime is an absolute MUST for serious diners!
Prime is one of my favorites. Don't just go for the steaks, you can get steak anywhere. try some of the other entres. As good as the food is, the staff is better. There is a lively bar scene and the age skews towards the older; probably because the prices are steep. Still, on a recent Thursday the place was packed.
I had a terrific evening. Thank you! Food was delicious!
Amazing meal. Great service. Great view... what more can I say
