Prime 55 Restaurant
Prime 55 offers a fine dining experience on two levels. It provides a sexy ambiance and two full bars on both the upper and lower levels. The lower level features a full sports bar with numerous TV’S. Prime 55 is a perfect date-night worth eatery, with its sexy vibe, that offers American Cuisine with a touch of Creole favorites as well as vegetarian and vegan options.
The naming of the restaurant and its owner’s mission is one of the same, “Prime”, the best in quality and “55”, Five, is a significant and powerful number “times 2” equals all the more so, symbolizing freedom, exploration, and an out-with-the-old, in-with-the-new attitude.
The menu will heavily feature vegetarian/vegan dishes and meat based entrees such as Cajun veggie gnocchi, chargrilled rib-eye, blackened Atlantic salmon and a grilled cauliflower steak with mushrooms, carrots, confit tomatoes and preserved Meyer lemons.
Valet parking will be offered on the
Waited an hour and never got the main entrees
This was absolutely the best restaurant. The food was nothing but 5 star material with a casual laid back environment very friendly and delicious
We happened to be in St. Louis for my birthday and found Prime 55 on Open Table. What a fantastic surprise! The food was a 10 (we had the Cajun gnocchi, crab cakes, kale soup, and a salad - all absolutely delicious!), the atmosphere was cool (we sat in the lower level), and the service was spot-on (the chef even visited our table to confirm everything was prepared to our satisfaction). I highly recommend this little neighborhood gem (in the funky Delmar Loop neighborhood).
I would return just for the street corn appetizer - that one is crave-worthy.
I wanted to like this establishment, since I'd heard good things from other diners. The restaurant was exceptionally warm, diners including those in my party, spent the evening blotting our faces with the cloth napkins. The bar has an extremely limited selection of premium liquor, which is unusual for an "upscale"establishment. The waiter seemed a little inexperienced in providing a positive and memorable customer experience. For example, only half our party received their food and we waited another 10 minutes for the other half to arrive, with no apoligy or explanation The food was just OK, definitely not as expected for the price. Lastly, valet was a joke. It was $10 and very disorganized. Initially, when we walked up to retrieve our vehicle, the young man was using profanity when talking to some young ladies that were outside and then couldn't find our keys. Just messy...I am hoping this was just a bad night. We personally won't be back.
The location was great and so were the staff. The wait after ordering was a bit long but once our food arrived we understood why. No out the freezer, assembly line cooking here. The food tasted like the chef made everything from scratch just for me! My new favorite place to dine. Waiting on them to start a happy hour so I can have a reason to go everyday!!!
Great food and great service. I will definitely be back.
This place is a gem. The food is amazing and the service is awesome. The flavors and appearance of the food is delightful. The staff was appropriately attentive and friendly.
Great 👍🏽 food., lovely atmosphere and staff is very polite.
Environment was very intimate and nice service was wonderful and food was even better will definitely be back
Lobster fries were amazing! Everything we ordered was hot and delicious. The blueberry mojitos was really good too. Friendly staff and very nice clean space. Will definitely be back
I will be back. I was very pleased with the service and food.
Great new quaint restaurant in the Loop! The food was creatively crafted and delicious to boot! The dinner menu is a tad expensive but well worth the price point. The staff has a deep knowledge of the menu and is exceptionally courteous, tending to your every need. I was pleased to meet the executive chef who is young, motivated and eager to please. I highly recommend you experience prime 55.
I had high hopes for this restaurant but my experience was terrible. I made a reservation for a party of 8, once we arrived they sat us a 4 low top and said they’d pull a table up (leaving a large gap between the party). Then they re-seated us a high top that sat 8 so we are comfortable. We ordered drinks and they came at different times, which we understand. Then we ordered our food at 7:43 PM... around 9 o’clock our waiter came and asked the table “oh, you haven’t gotten your entrees?”. They bring out our food at different times leaving half the party to watch others eat. The “vegan” entree was in fact not vegan. My gnocchi dish did not have any gnocchi in it. They took my meal off my ticket and offered the table a round of shots. But that doesn’t change the poor experience I had. They have the potential but I believe more training is required or they aren’t accustomed to large parties with dietary restrictions. Hoping they improve!
Great Hospitality, Great Service, Food was just Beautiful and Perfect !! We will definitely be regulars!
I will preface by stating I know they are new so this is just some constructive feedback
Upstairs seemed warm so we were glad to see the basement dining room. Noisy and can only imagine when/if they have all tables filled.
My wife ordered a glass of wine off their menu only to be told they don’t offer the Rose by the glass because if they open the bottle it may go bad. Then take the glass price off your week old menu. I ordered a bourbon smash cocktail off their specialty list. It was electric blue served on a pint glass. Not a smash I’m used to.
Waitress asked if we wanted an appetizer and I asked what the Soup Du Jour was only to get a response “Soup Du Jour”. Ok maybe a little more training needed on that.
Salad was unique as a wedge style for a Caesar. The Vegetable gnocchi was good and my Wife’s steak was good after returning to to he finished. She ordered medium well and it arrived just past raw. I like medium rare and that would have been a stretch.
One of the owners visited all the tables and shared his vegetarian lifestyle explaining the amount of vegetarian options on the menu.
Interesting place hope they can tweak the issues and offer a great family restaurant option.
Amazing! I currently live in Texas but I am born and raised Stl. It is so wonderful to see a black owned establishment serving tasty food in an upscale environment!
Stopped in for the first time around 1130 Sunday for an early lunch. The hostess & waitress were extremely friendly & polite. One of the owners (Orlando) greeted my wife and I & also thanked us for dining. The food was good (I would say the lunch menu is a bit limited). We'll definitely be back to try more from the dinner menu.
I went during the first 3 days of opening. So they were still working out the kinks. However, they compensated us very well for the mishaps. The food was great and the customer service was even better. I can’t wait to check them out n 30 days!
It was so great to see black excellence. I will be back
The food was great and fairly priced. We are excited to come back soon!
I made reservations for the second day of the restaurant opening and to my amazement everyone was truly on point and knowledgeable about the menu and wine list. Any kinks they may have had was easily overshadowed by their outstanding and attentive service.
It exceeded my expectations for being the first day. I’m definitely going to come back because I did enjoy my meal.
Great new hotspot!! Nice vibes, warm staff & good food! Will be back over and over
