The service was horrible! The food was horrible and it was too loud because of a drunk guy who was allowed to be in there! I’m never going back!!!!
It was very loud and we were trying to have a business meeting. St. Patricks Day drinkers were obnoxious.
We had a great experience. All of the food we ordered from the starters, salads, sides, steaks, and Dessert were all phenomenal. The only downside was that we ate on a pacers game night, and were not quite done by the time the game got out. It got crazy in there pretty quick. All in all we had a wonderful all around dining experience.
Very, very disappointing.
Best steak in Indy!
We have dined there several times, but the last two times we have, the quality of the food has declined. My crab cake was so thick it was not cooked in the middle and the potatoes were not done. My husband ordered his steak medium, but it was raw in the middle. I don't think we will return. Great atmosphere and location!
We were there for our 30th anniversary. I anticipated, due to the upscale nature of the restaurant, for it to be more intimate and quieter. It was EXREMELY noisy (Pre-Metallica concert goers) and I was disappointed with the ambiance of the restaurant. You could barely hear the piano player and the bar area was noisy and had televisions. Hardly what I expected for the cost of the meal.
This was our first time at Prime 47 and we would definitely go back! The food was excellent, filets were cooked perfectly and one of our party had sea bass which was equally delicious. The roasted brussel sprouts with bacon side was wonderful and large enough to share. Service was well-timed so we didn't feel rushed but were well taken care of. Downtown Indy has lots of steakhouses but this is now one of my favorites!
One of the best spaces (if not the best) to enjoy a quality meal in downtown Indy.
My wife and I would go here when it was Mo's, so we thought we would try the new ownership. I was disappointed with the food quality. I ordered the ribeye, which is supposed to be a house specialty, and there was more fat and tissue in the steak than meat. It was not a great meal for the price. I will say that the service here is very good though. Not sure that service makes up for quality.
We started at Prime 112 in Memphis, TN and to our amazement; we had our own Geme at home in Indy! Ours is way better than the others, from the menu to the service and wine selections, it’s pretty amazing. I feel in love with the food! My steak was seared to protection!! I’ll be back very soon!
Reserved a table for a celebration and I’m not sure if we were placed in a table towards the back for that reason or coincidence but it was perfect for talking and having an intimate dinner. The food and service was great as well.
Having a steak so cold you have to send it back shouldn’t happen at this level. But it did. Shrimp cocktail was terrific. Service was adequate but not really knowledgeable about wine. Cocktails and cordials were good.
Go here to see and be seen in the bar after 9. That’s was the buzz is all about.
How can you not choose prime when you’re craving steak?! Honestly you can’t go wrong!
To be fair, it was NFL Combine weekend so it was packed with large groups. We were the only 2-top in the whole place, so we seemed a bit lost in the sea, but again it was combine weekend so not a big deal. Steak was fantastic, wine from the book menu was delicious.
all was good except the vegetable medley represented to be multiple different vegetables but it came out 85% broccoli; server said he noticed it but still brought it, we thought he might have said something to kitchen or acknowledged the heaviness of B and offered something else.
Personal touch on menu noting birthday and the birthday dessert were appreciated. Wait staff was very personable and professional. The meals were delicious. A great, memorable evening for the family.
Meatballs were not warm in middle. But the rest of dinner was great
Nice food but very expansive
Very noisy the piano and too much rumor on the restaurant, was difficult to talk with other people of the same table
The only thing that we ordered that we liked was the crab cake. My husband ordered the short rib entree, it was supposed to be one of their signature dishes. When he received it was charred and dry, he had to order more sauce just to be able to eat it. I order the scallop entree. The scallops were salty and the risotto was bland. The waitress recommended the bourbon cake for dessert. She compared it to a bananas Foster, it was nothing like it. We did not even finish the dessert. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone that I know. The food is not worth the price that we paid. I regret trying something new for Valentine's Day. :-(
Waitress was not very attentive, we waited almost 30 minutes to order. Polite front desk staff but that’s where the politeness ended sadly.
Food was undercooked but charred to a crisp, not what you’d expect from a steak house with these prices.
This was our 1 Yr anniversary dinner before a night out on the town. The evening was brought to an abrupt halt with the service and attitudes we received. When we questioned the steaks temperature, we were told that maybe we didn’t know how steaks were to be cooked! For a 41 yr old from Houston, Texas I feel I know what medium is! What we received were a Rare strip steak and a well Done Filet that was as dry as the attitudes we got from the staff.
I would never recommend this establishment to a soul if they desired edible food and polite service!
Great place for a special occasion.
Great service. Will definitely come back. We loved the food and the atmosphere.
Excellent food and service, a bit pricey but steak is better than St. Elmo's
Really Smoky in the upstairs dining area during our dinner on 2/15.
Wonderful evening. Steaks were great, wait staff was very helpful
Birthday dinner for my wife with our best friends and we all said it was just outstanding! Our table had Walter& Jordan who were attentive funny and seemed to enjoy their work. We told them we all thought our meal was better than St Elmo’s & Ruth Crist. The steaks were sooo good.We all highly recommend Prime 47!
Prime 47 was a wonderful choice for a special dinner date. A well executed menu, attentive and courteous waitstaff, and a classy, intimate atmosphere that was unpretentious and comfortable. The live piano music was a fantastic addition.
We did the $130 Valentine special, our potatoes weren’t cooked thoroughly, and our steaks were suppose to be med. well we’re very well done. The service was excellent but the food was lackluster. For $65 a person We felt let down by the food.
The waitresses weren’t professional, came back and asked us 3 times what kind of rose we ordered... is was
Moet, only one listed on the menu. Food was ok, nothing special and the beets on the salad tasted like they were from a can.
Valentine’s Day was beautifully decorated and made everyone feel that extra love in the air. The food was amazing and well priced, staff was attentive, and the ambiance was classy. Would recommend to anyone on any occasion. We will be back.
Great food and service!
Skip the French Onion soup - very little flavor & the broth was not rich as I've had at other restaurants. Hot bread was amazing. Filet was tender & cooked to perfection. Twice Baked potato very good. Scallops (4 to a serving for $34) were very gritty, not a good thing when you are paying that kind of money. Service was excellent. Prices are very expensive. Bar crowd extremely loud so I was thankful that our table for dinner was upstairs & closed off from the noise below. I would go back but would not get the French Onion soup or the scallops, hoping to find something else more to my liking.
Atmosphere, wine and the food were on point. My favorite steak restaurant in Indy. The steaks and quality of beef far surpass St Elmo’s.
2nd time to try because we wanted this place to be good. I do not think we will go back there again anytime soon. Both times, it took too long to get main dishes out and the steaks were not that good compared to other high end places in indy. After a long wait, we got food but my wife's steak was cooked way too much almost well done for 11 oz thick filet. We had to send that back. It took too long to get a new one, we had to leave before my wife got a new one...we still spent about 2 hours. To be fair, i do not think it was the server's fault. She tried.
No I thought our server must not have liked his job., because he was like whatever, my mixed drinks were horrible the shrimp cocktail, that I got the shrimp was dry and no flavor won’t be back
It was a treat to be in Indianapolis to enjoy the variety of dining options. When our group decided on Prime 47, we were not disappointed. The atmosphere was inviting, and the service was very attentive and friendly. Our food was superb and fixed to specifications. Within our group was those with allergies, special diets, and finicky diners. Everyone left extremely pleased!
The service was good and the atmosphere was nice but while some of the dishes were tasty and enjoyable, the steaks, which is to be their specialty and priced at or above market, were tough and chewy. Will not likely return as this was our second, less than enjoyable, experience with each time, the food being the weak link.
Been here several times. Our waiter seemed annoyed with us. I ordered food that didn’t come he said I never ordered it even though my friends said they heard me order it. Just disappointed with our service.
Lisa Lentzke, Sales Manager was our host as I will be hosting 32 guests in private dining room on Feb. 15th. Wonderful hospitality and the 8 oz. filet I had was superb, as were the side dishes. Can't wait to entertain some of our best customers there next week!
