Enjoy fresh seafood and tapas style plates while you savor a specialty cocktail with your friends & family, or for business, in our Celebration bar and enjoy the day.
Great service! And not only great food, but big food. The servings are beautiful! Has to be the best prime rib I have had in a couple of years! Slow roasted and actually medium rare! My wife is a Monte Cristo aficionado - it was a killer! Came with an unbelievable Serrano raspberry jam! And the drinks — can’t say anything bad about the place!
Promising looks and website.
Service - Lousy and very unprofessional. Non-attentive waiters and receptionist.
Food - Over priced for what you get.
My suggestion - there are plenty other options in the area for similar food and/or drinks, that actually care about service and provide better value.
Not worth the money. The food was okay. Ordered the 16oz bone in New York medium rare and it was medium chewy and hard to cut with a knife. The bar was slow at making and serving drinks. It was just okay nothing exciting.
Terrible service and food not worthy of pricey steakhouse. We expected much better. Big disappointment. Asked for a martini and got a rocks glass with vodka and vermouth.
Service was outstanding, food was good but a steak ordered medium and told it would be pink throughout should be pink throughout, these unfortunately weren’t.
Ordered the filet medium, first time it was brought to the table it was rare, I called the waitress over and she saw it immediately, apologized and took it back to the kitchen. After 10 minutes she returned with the same steak that was refired and asked if it was ok. I cut into the center and the steak is still rare. She apologized again and went to take my steak. I asked if she could take it on a separate plate so I could at least eat the veggies and potatoes while I waited. She then asked if it would be ok if they butterfly my filet to ensure it gets cooked properly. This place is a steakhouse....shouldn’t they know how to properly cook a filet without having to butterfly it? I told her whatever they needed to do to cook the steak correctly just do it. While I waited for it to come back to the table all of the sudden there was a ruckus near the front of the restaurant. Several servers were yelling and ran out of the front of the restaurant. When our server return with my filet I asked her what was going on. She proceeded to tell us that they get 5-6 vehicles broken into in their parking lot every night and that they saw someone breaking into one. My steak was finally cooked properly but now that they butterflied it they decided to drizzle a balsamic reduction over it. I decided not to say anything else and ate it. Needless to say we won’t be returning. Definitely not worth the money we paid. Way overpriced for the quality of food, service and atmosphere.
Had a reservation and arrived on time. Took us 20 minutes to get waters and menus. Took another hour to get our food order. Sadly our drinks never came despite multiple requests. Would never eat here again Horrible service.
Epic fail in Restaurant Management 101. If the excuse is that you are under staffed, apply a wait time that will allow your kitchen, bar, dishwashers, etc., get caught up and back in control of their situation. It would be far better off to have people turn away because they don’t have time, or are not willing to wait, than to subject them to horrible experiences. 50 minutes in, we have water only, main course comes next (cold), then the salads, but still no cocktails. After going up to bar ourselves to find out what is going on, we find two bartenders that don’t care, and have completely checked out because they’re in the weeds. I don’t know why we paid for anything, must be the fact we’re longtime waitstaff, bartenders, and restaurant managers, and simply felt bad. Although the bar staff didn’t handle the situation they were forced into correctly, and no one on the floor was helping anyone else through the situation, the majority of the blame lies with the owner/manager. Nothing suggested that this was an anomaly, so we will never be back again, and this is a truthful and sincere warning to you all.
Due to the event being held at Levi's Stadium, the restaurant was way overwhelmed. Food was late in coming out, although it was good when we received it. There wasn't enough waitstaff to served everyone successfully. I just think it was poor planning for that particular day. Though they are supposed to know that there would be much heavier traffic on a Levi's event day.
Hoorible service, tough steak and Prime Rib. After finishing our salads we waited a half hour dor our entrees. When they did arrive the salad plates had not been cleared for the table, not even the menues we were give when seated. Steak and Prime rib were rough and resembled a standard grade cut of beef rather than Choice or Prime. Blackberry cobbler tasted as though a waffle was use for the pastry. Coffe tted like luke warm water. After waiting another half hour for the check I had to hunt our waiter done and pay our bill at the cashier.
Overpriced entrees, mediocre/lousy sides,, poor staffing
Prime rib was good, but pricey. You get a salad but no side. The lobster was a large price for small lobsters. The food tasted good. They were friendly, prompt and efficient. I would eat there again, but maybe order something else.
The drink I had was Sangria , had some unknown extra in it, and had to send back. The shrimp was over cooked and soggy. The prime rib was done well, but way over priced !
Salad was amateurish and my bone in ribeye was substandard. They also didn’t have the Jordan cab I wanted. The fact that the place was less than half filled while a large nearby conference was happening said that others did their homework on this place - and I didn’t.
Yes yes!!!! We ordered the 48 oz Prime rib and it exceeded our expectations . The flavor was rich , it was cooked precisely the way we ordered it. We frequent the Prime rib house in SF, and thought we'd give Prime 109 a try for a Birthday dinner. We also had the calamari appetizer and the onion soup which were creative and flavorful. Hats off to the chef! Servers were attentive and wanted to please. We will be back.
Don't let the torn sign in the front of the resturant put you off. The food was great!
Worst dinner experience ever.... waiter was awful, menu items ont available after waiting for kitchen to prepare order. Drinks were terrible our waiter was the bartender and he did not know how to make a Manhattan or a Cosmo but tried and failed miserably. Dont waste your time or money.
A little pricey for the food but it's a nice quiet place so you can have conversation over a meal.
The food was good but the service was unforgivably terrible. We had to ask for things repeatedly (sugar, sweet and low, etc.) and still didn't get them. Just the worst service for such high level restaurant. Sorry. We'll never be back.
We went at 8:45 on a Saturday night, ordered scallops and filet minion. The scallops were minuscule, and the 10oz filet was, well, not the best for the price. It was over cooked in places and raw in others, chewy and seemed to have been previously frozen. Completely devoid of taste. Too bad, I was looking for a good steak house.
Good food but poor service. Short staff?
antiquated, way over priced, service very poor, for what you are paying expectations should be MUCH higher. will never go back.
Found this place recently. Its been around a bit over a year. Great beer selection on tap. Nice bar area with TVs, but also separate tables if you want to sit down and relax. Ive eaten the prime rib each time. A bit fatty, but very tasty - thats why they get very good - not excellent. Not a top of the line steakhouse, but very good. I come here regularly. Service is excellent.
Nice appetizer and desert at Prime 109 - Steak, not so much.... Honestly, the appearance of the NY steak was bland and unremarkable- it wasn’t visibly grilled, seared or charred. Just a bland, neutral tan-ish brown. Most of the meat was firm, but the meat near the bone was mushy. Like it had been sitting in a holding bath if clarified butter or sous vide setup for too long.
I believe the real flavor of the meat comes from the Maillard reaction that occurs from the high heat on the meat. First steakhouse I’ve been to that serves a steak like this.
Overall the ambiance was nice and our waiter was good, but that is about it. My wife ordered the prime rib and I ordered the ribeye both were ordered medium rare and both came out over cooked although the ribeye was medium the prime rib came out well done and while our waiter did bring out another plate it was not much better, it was still somewhere between a medium well and well done.
The presentation was nice and the service good its just a shame the steaks were over cooked and also not real good cuts, I have gotten better on discount at Safeway.
For the price we payed I expect excellent service (we did get great service), nice atmosphere (acceptable) and a meal well prepared (this is where it all fell apart).
was going to order $10 chicken snack, but was told the happy hour steak was a small 6oz, so i was sold, but it turned out to be what i got was a fajita like chewy shread-ed beef with overcooked brocs on the side. $20 for that as happy hour menu was definitely overpriced. $10.5 vodka and cranberry was with weak vodka. soup was mediocre. just felt taken advantage, went to have ramen and bao nearby afterwards
This is just a part of my full review on TripAdvisor for this restaurant experience.
My partner opted for the 28 ounce bone in Prime Rib (med rare) and I ordered the Surf and Turf (med rare). The prime rib was very good, it had good bark at the edge and was appropriately pink on the inside. The flavor was rich and satisfying. For my Surf and Turf the steak was a bone-in New York Strip and the lobster was a 6 ounce tail. I ordered medium rare and when the steak was served to me on its way to being done, not well done but cooked through. It was a smallish steak maybe 8 ounces that had good flavor. Now to the big disappointment, the lobster was mushy. I bit into the second bite and it was like putting mashed potato in my mouth. Definately not appetizing. I gave a slice to my partner to try and he had the same experience.
To sum it up, there are many better places that are very nearby this establishment, Birks, Flemings, and Spencers. Sorry but that is the truth of it!
Absolutely loved it! We had the world's best prime rib and couldn't agree more it was the best prime rib I've ever had !
This restaurant and the nearby hotel have been plagued by car thefts so notices were on the doors and on the counters about not leaving valuables in sight in your car--rather off-putting but not the restaurant's fault. Prices here are VERY high and they can charge them as dot-commers are in the area and come for dinner and come with expense accounts. We got there at 5:50 and were seated in the main dining area, then told we could not have Happy Hour prices for a glass of wine as we weren't seated in the bar. However, the hostess had told us we could, so the waiter left to ask and didn't come back till 6:05 when Happy Hour was over. The server was very pushy and insistent, which proved to be most annoying. We shared a salad and a main, which I think annoyed him as he must have thought it meant a smaller tip. I wish servers would realize that older people don't have big appetites BUT some of us leave very generous tips regardless. Not this time. And we asked why the $1 service charge had been added and got a talk on Trump and tariffs and the owner increased wages and someone had to pay, etc.
Do not go here, they are very dishonest. I made a reservation and attended that they, in return, told OpenTable I did not attend. I had to amend their statement and get credit. I now understand why they wanted to hide the reservation, the server adjusted my tip from $40.00 to $60.00 on a bill that was $212. I called to discuss with the restaurant and they do not answer their phone and their voice mailbox is “out of service.” Beware everyone!
Website makes the restaurant seem like a middle/high end steakhouse. We chose this place because of our business schedule we didn't want to go through the fuss of a high end steakhouse. The ribeye was no better than Outback no flavor we didn't even eat half, the potatoes tasted like they were from a box. The place was practically empty with a TV going and unromantic/ borderline inappropriate music. Staff in the back we're have loud inappropriate conversations. Dress code said business casual but clearly was not enforced as people were walking in wearing sweats and hoodies. This restaurant is basically an extremely over priced outback. We we're beyond disgusted in the amount of money we paid for mediocre food. I would never go back and never recommend this place.
Have been there 3 times for lunch in the last 6-9 months and every time has been lovely. Food is terrific and the service is good as well. I'm looking forward to going for dinner in the near future, and the Sunday Brunch looks fantastic as well!
I booked this as a Mother’s Day Brunch for my family to celebrate. Our server was fantastic and the prime rib + oysters were delicious. The scalloped potatoes were a little scorched and the food in the chaffing dishes were inconsistent temperatures, but it’s tough to get right with a buffet setup.
My markdown for the overall experience was also in part because on the Prime 109 website they had prices posted for a Sunday Brunch, but I guess those were their “standard Sunday brunch” prices whereas this was a special “Mother’s Day Brunch”. It ended up being about $18 more per person than I had expected, so hopefully in the future the promotions online will match the in-restaurant promo prices. At least mimosas were included in the price!
This is a review of Prime 109's Mother's Day Brunch. We were excited to treat our mother to a brunch at Prime 109 after reading the special menu for that day. What immediately caught our attention was the snow crab legs and prawns that were mentioned on the menu. However, to our surprise when we got to the buffet line, there were not snow crab legs and prawns. Instead there were baby crabs with multiple body pieces and overly frozen small shrimp. We believe this was false advertisement and we were very disappointed. It seems as though a non-Mother's Day brunch menu would of been more satisfying.
I do want to mention that despite the disappointing menu, our waitress did an excellent job at service. She was very pleasant and treated us well.
First time at Prime 109 and the experience was great! Food was very delicious! My family loved the place and the food. I would definitely come back here and also would recommend to my friends! 👍👍👍
They charge premium price for mother's day brunch but served low quality food.
Restaurant wasn't even open despite the hours posted saying it would be and the reservation being confirmed
I am a local but I think this restaurant caters to the out of town business travelers of the nearby hotels. The food is a bit overpriced for what it is. I have been to many other local steakhouses and would choose over this restaurant. The service was good but the food came out too sequentially after each course and I felt that the meal was a bit rushed.
I wanted to really like Prime 109. Unfortunately, it was a let down. Food was Eh. will not go three a second time.
Had a fantastic experience! Our server, Kelly, kept it real and gave us amazing service even though we were obnoxious and stayed a little bit passed closing time. She was professional and I didnt feel rushed at all.
My S.O. and I shared the 48 oz prime rib, it was cooked almost perfect but it was still great and tasted even better with the freshly grated horseradish. My bestfriend ordered lobster and steak, both great, and the mashed potatoes were delicious! Before that we inhaled their calamri appetizer which was good and had this spicy kolrhabi salad that tingled my tastebuds (in a good way)!
Nice decor from what i saw from my booth.
Thanks for having us Prime 109,
We plan to go back!
