Primavera Ristorante Ratings and Reviews
Very busy and loud on a Sat night. Great service and good food but not great. Definitely family style and not fine dining. Food cooked in open kitchen and the food is cooked straight from the pan and thrown onto the plate. A bit greasy and over sauced if you know what I mean. Seafood was a bit over cooked and chewy. Not sure if I would return.
The food, spaghetti Bolognese and spaghetti Putanesca, were delicious as was the ceasar salad. The service was friendly anf efficient. We didn't have to wait and never felt rushed although the restaurant was busy and full of customers. It was a Saturday night the first part if December. Quantity of food was perfect. Great place, great food and plenty of parking.
The food was excellent (pasta with chopped clams and clams, and lobster tail with saffron, spinach and shrimp risotto and spumoni for dessert) and our server was wonderful. She was attentive and very friendly. Tables are close to each other, so you do hear others' conversations. Then again, it depends on which table one is sitting at.
First visit to Primavera. Great find for us... Everything was outstanding! The clams were great,
The salad was very good. I had the Lamb Shank with Risotto and my wife had the Chicken gorgonzola. Both were very tasty!
The service was excellent and it was pleasantly quiet....perhaps because it was a Monday night.
We will return soon!
As always very good food and a decent waiter. Needs a little more training to be able to respond to the large area he had but overall not too bad. He aloso, needs a bit more training in wine, and to explain the specials. However, he did a decent job along with the busing staff. I have been a customer since the place opened up and although, I have a second home east and have been away on and off for 13 years I was still happy with the restaurant. I'm now back n a more permanent way in my Danville home and will be over often. Thxs AlFar3
Old school plates. We had Veal Saltimbocca - the meat was a little tough, not too bad. It was moist and covered with a good quality cheese - but just a little over the top. The penne that came with it was very decadent, buttery cream sauce with mushrooms and prosciutto, and a lot of it. We took it home and had two more helpings and still had some left. So the portions are generous. Their riff on a vodka gimlet was tasty and refreshing. I'd go back, but make sure I have a light salad for lunch.
Overall, I️t was a great dining experience. Food & service was excellent. Two suggestions: dim the lights, it’s very bright in the dining room & the staff was being kind and holding the door open for customers, however, the wind was blowing and I️t was so cold in the restaurant.
Service was good, considering the restaurant was jammed on this chilly Saturday night. Salads, especially the pear and strawberry, were good. The entrees were excellent; the chicken risotto Dijon contained more chicken than I expected. Our only complaint was dessert: what happened to the lava cake? The menu needs a truly chocolate dessert to make the evening complete.
Food and service were decent. However, we had a terrible table located near the business end of the bar. We felt like we were sitting in an aisle with all the traffic to/from the bar. We ended up eating fast since we couldn’t talk or relax. We talked to the manager telling him that no one should sit at that table but he blew us off, didn’t listen. Chaotic noisy place. We will not visit again.
We’ve been going to this restaurant almost since it first opened in San Ramon.
Very nice and comfortable seating.
The noise is about normal for a popular restaurant. Different rooms can be a bit quiet but it is not a place for always quiet conversation.
Food is classic Italian Dishes and also on top of newer trends. Menu has great daily specials.
It’s a little pricey but it’s worth it. Staff is very professional and servers are always helpful, but not intrusive.
Primavera Ristorante was nice for my wife's Birthday. The portions were huge, enough for lunch the following day. My wife was rewarded with a comped Creme Brulee for her Birthday treat. We brought a fine bottle of wine and the corkage was a reasonable $15.00.
We came for an anniversary lunch. Overall, really good. We had always gone to Guiseppes as our go-to romantic Italian spot. I'd say this come quite close. Our waiter was excellent with perfect timing.
I had grilled salmon on veggies. Best cooked salmon I've ever had. My daughter had the children's pasta with pesto. Also quite good.
My wife's risottos was a bit disappointing. Watery, and not as creamy as other good risottos we've had. One other recommendation (if we compare to Guiseppe's). It would have been really nice to have a small soup or salad offered as part of the entree.
Only other recommendation, some sort of mood music. Was almost a bit TOO quiet.
Very good...as usual! Food is ALWAYS good at this place! However, tonight the noise level was horrible. Theyshould look into some type of noise reduction carpet or wall and ceiling panels. Anything would help! We'll come back because the food is so good, but I will not wear my hearing aids!
