It was, “Ok!” I see now why we don’t return often, even though it might be considered a neighborhood restaurant. With a few additional touches, it could be considered good, rather than just, “ok.”
Soup of the day was a light minestrone. The pasta Carbenara was an amazing and rich dish. Chicken Piccata was an ok dish . The sauce was light and lemony but was lacking in some of the richness of the carbenara. Loved the spumoni ice cream .
Our server was new which was forgivable . The idea of charging and extra $2.50 to change from fettuccini pasta to rigatoni is not called for. It is nickel/ dime and really cheap on your part considering the tab was over $100.
The service was very good and the food delicious. It was a very nice Saturday lunch.
Salmon overcooked. Told waiter wanted pink inside, was cooked all the way through. All else OK. Pricey for lunch. Good service.
Excellent service and food. We will be back and already looking forward to our next visit!
Food came in a timely matter
This restaurant has apparently sacrificed service for their take out business. The dine in people had such long waits and poor service I will not be back. After our initial salad, the wait was so long we were about to get up and leave when the manager brought out our plates of food. They had been sitting for some time from the film on top. We ate, flagged down someone for a bill and left immediately upon paying. There's such potential there if they'd just get more help. You'd laugh if you saw what was supposed to be the busboy clearing tables. My grandkids could do it faster and more efficiently.
Love this place over all. This evening waiter lost our order and there was confusion and several people asked us to repeat our order. I think the main dishes were made earlier and reheated be fore serving. Not as fresh as I usually get from them. Waiter was very apologetic. Will still patronize this restaurant .
Had a wonderful time at this location, staff were happy and helpful, food was amazing, and overall one of the top 10 places I've been to. Will definitely return for another special night out.
Really disappointed for food and service, this the worst dining experience that I had, we arrived on time, the restaurant was busy, when we sat down, we asked for standard menu instead of set menu due to couple days ago I received a confirmation call from the restaurant and asked me to choose set menu or standard one, I told her we preferred standard menu, that’s why I asked for when waiter presented set menu to me, he told me they served set menu only, I understood maybe it was too busy and they can’t handle a la cart menu, so we had to choose set menu, the chowder soup was not warm enough, the ribeye beef was too tough and too many tendons to cut, lamb shank was tasteless and tough also, and the desserts..., worst. We had to look for a waiter for order and bill, no waiters around . And also my wife saw the receptionist gave a rose for all the lady customers, but when we walked by the front, receptionist looked we were invisible and no rose for my wife.
We had been to this restaurant before, I liked their standard menu and we decided to come again for Valentines’s Day dinner. This is totally disappointed and we have to eliminate from our list.
Valentine’s Day celebration - pricey but tasty
As always a great meal and service, we’ve been dining here most Friday nights for over two years always a great meal
Solid performance once again from this neighborhood restaurant. Great service, good food, nice atmosphere. It was nice to see it crowded and lively. Hopefully, it will stay in San Ramon and not move to Danville!!
Negative experience from start to finish. We had a 7:00 pm reservation and were not served until 8:15. Finally gave us water after a half hour. Food was just ok, mostly swimming in cream sauce. The servers really tried to keep up but they were running all over the restaurant. Don’t think we will return.
I’d arranged to meet a friend who was taking me out for my birthday. Unfortunately, she had car trouble and didn’t show up. I apologized to my waiter, ordered a dinner to go, and told the waiter the circumstances. He got my meal for me, packed it all up, and when I got home I saw that he had also packed up a piece of tiramisu for my birthday! I’d ordered the dill salmon and pasta and it was SO good! I’ll definitely be back.
Dominque was a wonderful server! Best ever! The food was terrific !
My friend and I always order the chicken salad with cranberries, walnuts, and blue cheese. The greens this time were totally different and not in a good way - mostly stems. Chicken cooked perfectly. Service was great as usual.
Great local restaurant. Food is always good. Service outstanding.
Awesome Italian food! A nice place to go for a special occasion. Wait staff was spot on, and the meal was delicious. We had Salmon dill on angelhair pasta...divine 😊
The restaurant reminded me of a place you would see in Europe - trendy, classy, happy... The food was really delicious. I would definitely go back there again.
Food is good, simple but tasty.
Really enjoyed our terrific New Year's Eve dinner. Their pasta is the best!
We wanted to celebrate New Years Eve without going out on the town and making a scene! Primavera Ristorante is our go-to restaurant when we want a great meal in an atmosphere that is friendly. It is always special!
Reasonable food for the price, though not notable in any way. The caprese avocado salad was good, and our entrees were fine. The mussels were a little overdone, though. The service was quite good.
Well organized, good staff, Manager is a prince, we like it a lot!
Food and service were excellent, they easily accommodated my substitution. It was a bit loud but we will definitely eat there again.
Unforgettable night with awesome dinner and service was with a high standard
The food is always always great, fresh and flavorful.
We used to come here all he tome when we lived in the East Bay. It was fun to go back and they were very accommodating. Food is great.
I like the food there and the service is good
The food here is always great! Waiters are friendly. Service is quick.
Delicious food as always. Staff are always on top of their game and extremely personable. Staff are all very knowledgeable of current menus and specials. Small environment, yet not claustrophobic or crowded which is great.
Very busy and loud on a Sat night. Great service and good food but not great. Definitely family style and not fine dining. Food cooked in open kitchen and the food is cooked straight from the pan and thrown onto the plate. A bit greasy and over sauced if you know what I mean. Seafood was a bit over cooked and chewy. Not sure if I would return.
The food, spaghetti Bolognese and spaghetti Putanesca, were delicious as was the ceasar salad. The service was friendly anf efficient. We didn't have to wait and never felt rushed although the restaurant was busy and full of customers. It was a Saturday night the first part if December. Quantity of food was perfect. Great place, great food and plenty of parking.
Gorgonzola Chicken was so tasty I wanted to eat every bite! Our waiter was great, very accommodating and helpful with our choices and changes. Restaurant was very noisy and busy, just like a big city restaurant. I will definitely go back.
Crowded Saturday evening, yet we were in and out in 75 minutes. Food was great, as always, and we didn’t feel rushed. Only one complaint: the menu no longer has any serious chocolate dessert. Bring back the chocolate and get five stars!
Excellent as usual. Food was great. Service awesome.
Really, really good food! Beef raviolis, Bella raviolis, and chicken risotto were all excellent. Service was timely and attentive, nicely decorated for Xmas and reasonably priced.
The food was excellent (pasta with chopped clams and clams, and lobster tail with saffron, spinach and shrimp risotto and spumoni for dessert) and our server was wonderful. She was attentive and very friendly. Tables are close to each other, so you do hear others' conversations. Then again, it depends on which table one is sitting at.
