PRIMA Ristorante Ratings and Reviews
The food was quite good, although the menu was rather small. We were seated in the front of the restaurant in the atrium section and as it filled it became increasingly loud in there until we had to focus to hear each other while trying to have a conversation. A bit too loud for my taste.
We went to Prima for my wife's birthday. The waiter was personable and very helpful. The food was delicious and the drinks were great too. We missed our favorite app. but the chef replaced it with a great and different item. Prima is a wonderful place for a date or a special occasion. We will be back.
We have enjoyed many fine dinners and the service has always been perfect. However, this time the bartender was also our waiter. While he did his best to provide us with good service he was really stretch between tables and manning the bar. Hopefully in the future this will not happen again.
Prima is an excellent choice for a special occasion. The chef - Peter Chastain - is creative, and a great cook! The staff is professional; service excellent; special requests accommodated (a quiet table, a combination of antipasti). Recommended without hesitation.
We had a wonderful time and enjoyed the food and the wine. We had assistance from the sommelier for pairing with seafood spaghetti and lamb and swordfish. It was a great super Tuscan . He also assisted with the grappa choice paring with lemon tart. We also purchased the House olive oil which is lovely. They never rushed us. We eat here at least once a year .😀
Fabulous lunch for my birthday. Great menu selection and equally magnificent wine options. We had an amazing pizza appetizer that was so light yet intensely flavorful - then a Calimari salad that was amazing. Had fresh shrimp grilled to perfection. The freshness relates to Chef Peter Chastain’s passion for intense freshness and flavor. Wonderful!!!
Food was excellent. Service was extremely poor. Waited 15-20 minutes for initial contact by our waitress. Had to chase her down multiple times during the meal. Very different experience from our first visit a few weeks earlier when we had an outstanding server
PRIMA is my favorite restaurant in downtown Walnut Creek. The Tasting Menu is always great and I love it that you can get half portions on the pasta dishes half pours on some of the wines. We had Angela as our server last time and she did a great job. It is also nice that valet parking is available.
Prima is consistently one of the very best restaurants in the Diablo Valley. Certainly the best Italian cuisine. Chef Peter never ceases to amaze with creative dishes, from pasta to lamb, and of course the outstanding Florentine steak. We went with friends the other night and received the usual expert service and wine recommendations from Prima's friendly staff.
