Always a good place for food and margaritas
The best southwest food I have ever had we will be going back !
Michael is a great waiter. He has been working there for years and delivers the best service anyone can ask for. Mushroom soup was excellent as usual.
Not as good as they used to be. The salsa, chips and guacamole were bland. I haven’t been there in a few years and things have changed. The booths were dirty. The place needs a makeover and a good cleaning
The scallop and shrimp quesadilla is outstanding, a generous portion and very reasonably priced. the beers also: $4 for Founder's Centennial IPA. The key lime pie was also excellent. The corn chips and salsa are an appetizer in and of themselves... at no charge!
Great food. Excellent house-made salsa. Loved the NY strip quesadilla. Short staffed this visit so seating/service was slower than usual. We'll be back.
A very busy night and the food was EXCELLENT! One of our favorite restaurants!
We love Prickly Pear Cafe!!
Great service and delicious food!
I've enjoyed Prickly Pear every time I've eaten there. The plating is so colorful. The restaurant is cozy.
My husband and I are vegetarians and we found the menu to have many options. We do eat fish and seafood. I was disappointed in my squash Enchiladas. They were very bland and messy. Next time I would like to try the Sheimp Fajitas. Saw some being served and they looked and smelled wonderful. May even split them with my husband as they looked plentiful! Service was great and very friendly! We will be back.
The duck and chicken enchiladas verde were exceptional. The verde sauce was especially good and citrusy.
Prickly Pear had for a great evening for a double date. A booth was comfortable for four of us, but overall the place is snug. We were surprised by the value of the margarita pitcher - expecting it to service ~4 drinks, it actually was 7! I really enjoyed the cheese in the quesadillas. The complimentary salsa with chips is on the sweeter side, but delicious!
We very much enjoyed dinner here and are very excited at how fresh and tasty the food is. It is very obvious that the chef makes everything from scratch and the are no additives in the sauces or food. Everything was seasoned well. The chips and salsa were exceptionally good as were the desserts. And we cannot leave out that the mushroom bisque soup was the best we've ever had, incorporating portabella, shiitake, and button mushrooms. The entrees were also great. We will be returning here and highly recommend it.
Love that they were donating 10% of all alcoholic beverages to Food Gatherers. We've been to Prickly Pear in the past and they never disappoint. My favorite is the shrimp and scallop quesadilla.
I specifically asked the Waiter if raw onions were on the chic relleno, as I am unable to eat this w/o great discomfort. He advised No - but I felt bad all night, then looked inside the portion I brought home, to find much chopped barely-cooked onion. Unfortunate he dn follow-up w the chef! 2/4 in our party really liked their meals, the other 2 just fair. Restaurant week / birthday choice. Squash soup consistently delicious through the years.
We went for "Restaurant Week" when they had special 2 people dine for $28. Great value for that price. On a regular night most dishes are around $20. Overall the food was very good and the portion sizes were surprisingly large. Salsa was also fresh and tasty. My only complaint is that the flour tortillas that came with my meal were super crispy which made making fajitas a little challenging. It seems they were heated up and then just left to sit for a while. But the rest of the food itself was very good.
Prickly Pear always hits a home run with the scallop and rock shrimp Quesadilla! I'd like to try something new but this dish is just so good...always.
Food was delicious 😋 atmosphere is cozy. Staff is very pleasant Will be back
Scallop salad was delicious but my scallops and chicken meal had the driest chicken ever! Still love the place.
Visited during Restaurant Week 2019...food was delicious and margaritas were fantastic.
Food and service were great. My only complaint is the with the front door. Every time it opened as new people arrived it created a very cool breeze which made you feel cold through the meal.
Great food and service.
Had not been in several years. Had a great meal and service.
We always enjoy this place - unique choices, authentic cuisine. The restaurant is small but cozy. Service was excellent. It was quiet the day we were there, but it was mid afternoon. The seared cheese appetizer is a family favorite! Everyone very happy with their meals - from a variety of roll ups (jalapeno chicken, habanero skirt steak) to burrito and chimchango, applause all around! Will definitely return!
Little gem downtown ann arbor. Food is fantastic. Soups apps and dinners.
Great Drinks, Amazing menu (will have several return trips to sample more), wonderful atmosphere!
Love this little place yet it is way too cramped. Booths are tight and tables close together. That’s my only concern. Otherwise very good.
Atmosphere was wonderful and relaxing. Service outstanding. Fajitas delicious and most of all the margaritas were PERFECT! This is our go to place when in town. Highly recommend :)
Food is always amazing here. Can’t go wrong.
Reservation was not helpful- five people smashed into a table barely big enough for three. Hostess was a bit clueless. Food which used to have wonderful fusion is basic Mexican fare. Not worth the price but have to pay the rent on A2 Main Street. Go to Tios- way better in every way.
Had reservation for 7 and didn’t get seated until 7:45. Very unorganized, hostess was actually going to seat another party even though we had been waiting before them. Will not be back.
One of my favorite restaurants. Unfortunately the margaritas weren't as good this time....
Very cold air every time the door was opened. Customers waiting we’re overlooking our table.
Prickly Pear is such a great escape, especially in the winter. The margaritas are very good as is the food. We love the small, cozy, warm, intimate atmosphere. It always feels like a special occasion in Prickly Pear.
The food was good, as well as service. The prices are reasonable. The place is small and very crowded though. Became very loud when a group of students came to sit at the long table at the center. Made it hard to talk.
Very cramped and noisy. Slow service. Waited 20 minutes after requesting the check. Food was average.
Brunch? Not really. Our reservation was for 11:45am on Sunday, and we were given dinner menus. We asked for brunch menus and were told 2 of the 7 brunch entrees and were no longer offered. Same for 1 of the 3 small plates. The "Southwest Chicken Hash" was literally a (dry) chicken fajita with some large chunks of potatoes added to it. Disappointing experience.
Fabulous food at reasonable cost with great service. Can't wait to return!
One of my favs. The food is always delicious and affordable. Mushroom quesadillas are excellent.
