Preservation Kitchen is generally very good. The Bar area that was formerly Alehouse is a noisy space compared to the house.
Preservation Kitchen is one of the few restaurants in the area that offers well prepared duck. It is a real treat, since few restaurants in this part of the country do--although it is more common on the East Coast and Europe.
Great food and service! Love the atmosphere and staff. Too often we leave a restaurant thinking we could have made that meal better and at a fraction of the price, and not have to tip anyone for mediocrity. NOT HERE. We left knowing we may have spent a wonderful evening at the best restaurant in Bothell or anywhere nearby...and no, we can't recreate their lucious selections at home, so we'll just have to go back....soon.
Food was delicious and the specialty drinks were fantastic. I highly recommend the salad with ranch dressing, of all things, and the chicken chipotle sandwich. The chocolate kaluaha cocktail was amazing as well. Fun place, a little hidden gem in Bothell. FYI parking is very tight, so plan on taking an Uber, or if going in a group, all travel in one car. Also we had a reservation, yet had to wait for a table. After a few minutes, we just sat at an open table in the bar and it was great. Super fun and we did not have to worry about raising our voices when we were having a good time. I would definitely go back here again. Thanks so much.
First time coming here was absolutely amazing but the second time was a huge disappointment. When I came here with my sister and brother for a birthday breakfast last week we did not get our food for an hour, the server blamed it on the kitchen and then avoided us, and when the food came out it tasted horrible. Not worth trying again.
A local favorite!
We love the kitchen and our favorite menu items are the brussel sprouts appetizer, the beet salad and the wild boar ragout. It's very hard for me to order anything else, but their menu has regular favorites and seasonal varieties.
For cocktail-ers, they have infused liqours and their cocktails are great.
There's a great bar with lots of room and selections - we've eaten in the bar as well, and it's also very good. More casual and drop-inabble.
We've also been there for their summer shakespeare outdoors on the patio, super awesome!
It's hard to find so you have to look for it on the north side of the street, in a house on a hill, but it's in a great central location for folks like us who have friends scattered all over the area.
It's well worth it - we've introduced several friends and meet there frequently.
Old house turned restaurant, quiet enough for conversation & nice romantic lighting with a fire place. Our meals and drinks were delicious! Service was a bit slow to start, hostess appeared over whelmed.
Pretty good. Combined menu with ale house allows a wider variety of price points than before.
Great place for a date, thanks for a great night on Valentine's day.
Valentines date. I forgot to check the menu ahead so was a bit surprised to see the $80 four course menu.. the ambience is nice. Food is great, in particular the crab cake. But service is so so, pretty slow.
Wonderful device and amazing food. Definitely a top pick for a return visit!
Went for Valentine’s Day and had a great pre-fix menu. We both had the filet mignon and it was cooked perfectly. The crab cakes were awesome and both of our desserts were as beautiful as they were tasty. The restaurant is actually the residence of a previous mayor and I can see why they converted it into the quaint restaurant it is today. I had the Brown Sugar Bourbon after dinner, and it tasted just like Christmas in a glass! We will definitely be back here.
Expensive fixed price Valentines Dinner. Seated in the back of the ale house rather than main restaurant. Appetizer was stale. Salmon was luke warm. Salad with strawberries was fresh, but dressing was bland. Crepe dessert was the only good course. Wine pours were generous.
Won't return again.
This is possible the best restaurant in Bothell. The setting is an historic home and the ambiance is relaxed. The food is always spectacular and I would recommend the bread pudding for dessert. It never disappoints.
We were not rushed as we caught with with each other, even though we were there over 2 hours! The room was comfortable, the tables were not really close, so we could have conversation easily.
Atmosphere was amazing. So much history in the restaurant. Service was excellent.
I like the ease of reserving. This little adventure just put a new app on my phone for reserving with ease. Every fire place had a cozy fire going giving the place a warm home feeling while the cold rain fell outside.
What an amazing find! This restaurant is in an old converted house, so the dining room is really a series of rooms. This gives you a sense of privacy, while also having the ability to accommodate groups (and there’s a separate room for the bar area). There’s lot of little nooks and crannies for conversation, and the multiple fireplaces add an ambience of coziness and warmth to the place.
The menu is wonderful. Not large, but instead focused on quality ingredients made with care. The food was delivered to us with pride, and it showed.
The service was exceptional. Fast, polite, prompt, friendly, attentive.
I’d highly recommend this place. Whether it’s with a group for drinks, with the family, or or on a date, it seems to have something for everyone.
The food was excellent! We enjoyed the family dinner. The food choices was nice, something different for everyone.
I had a very enjoyable time at the Preservation Kitchen! I went there for the first time, on a Sunday evening. It was my girlfriends birthday, and she loved it, and enjoyed the cheese tray! ( It was great). I had the boar for dinner and it was delicious, it was in a pasta dish, but truly great! The serves was great, always there to help make decisions for you, as well as making sure you are stocked up on drinks and food. Friendly staff! Will go back again.
It was a great place to have Sunday brunch. The food was tasty and the service was great!
Beautiful meal, enjoyable evening! Nice mix of casual and fine dining experience. Looking forward to coming back when the weather is better!
Great food. Great service. Love the fireplaces. Wonderful time.
Love the overall menu and offering.
The kids meal probably was some of the best kid meals grilled chicken and fries our kids had.
Attached a picture of the duck breast I had.
Mussels rival Langley Inn! Very good experience fo us.
I've come here for quite a few anniversarys over the years. Every time, the food, ambiance, and service are exemplary. They always treat us as special guests though I suspect that is just how they do things. This place deserves every praise I can sing.
The menu was a little confusing because it didn't line up with what was online or what I was served but it was still really good.
Food presentation was good, steak was inferior quality, very grizzled meat, unable to cut with knife which dissappointed good presentation.
We always really enjoy the grapefruit sparkler cocktail, and the brunch dishes are reliably good. The sausage gravy on the "Mount Baker" was heavy and a little floury, but the Classic Eggs Benedict and Herb-Ricotta omelette were very good. Excellent potatoes.
Enjoyed except the very noisy party that was going on
We made reservations at 6pm for our anniversary. We were seated right away. But we sat and did not get fed until 45mins later, not even bread, just water. And their was no offer by the management of a concession. However the food was really tasty. We had the broccoli appetizer, duck, steak and mash, green Caesar salad, house salad, tiramisu, and chocolate silk. Mixed drinks were the virgin pomegranate and the ginger lime. The food was really the only good thing about the experience. We will probably not go back.
The restaurant was pleasant. The staff were all friendly and attentive (hostess, backwaiter, server). Suggestions were made in a very helpful way, questions answered, and service was prompt. The food was on the better side of average, but did not WOW. Instead, it was a nice experience that did not spark a strong memory. The establishment was fun and cozy, though table spacing left fellow diners fairly close. This was a fun and relaxed restaurant that my friend and I enjoyed.
We were visiting from out of town. They were so amazing!! The entire experience was awesome
Looking forward to first time eating out on Thanksgiving. Expected from the price and reviews a white table cloth experience. found instead a casual, family style setting with average service, average food and a noisy setting that made talking to my wife difficult. For the cost > $200, we should have had one of the local grocery stores make us dinner. Would not do it again. Would recommend the place to go for seahawks games if you had a crowd and weren't worried about the cost
Beautifully prepared and served, delicious meal, as always.
We went on Thanksgiving and enjoyed it. Being a holiday, the menu was limited. We opted for the traditional turkey 🦃 dinner, but the other were tempting as well. Service was excellent and the food was of very good quality. The ambience is romantic and cozy. We plan on returning to check out their lounge.
My turkey dinner was ok, the turkey was not cooked well. My friends had the filet and they really enjoyed it. We felt rushed, they didn't give us a lot of time between courses. Staff was friendly but seemed a little scattered with the bigger thanksgiving crowd.
Everything was great
Requested the most “peaceful” table & flowers @ reservation time & when we got there they didn’t seem to even recognize this request whatsoever.
Glad to find this place! The setting was great for having dinner with a friend, and we both enjoyed our food.
