Preservation Kitchen offers the elegance, warmth, and comfort of celebrating any occasion with the ease of feeling at home with family and friends, but without you doing any of the work. We went to this restaurant to try Seattle Restaurant Week fixed dinner, and I ordered Red Snapper for main dish. Our table (just two of us) located in group table? So that noise level is high. Wish we could to sit down more quiet area. Servers were very busy, who does not remember correctly for each of requests. We received To Go Box even if we didn’t request, and received wrong deserts :( its beautiful big house, they have a big, group tables so that ‘group’ is good for this restaurant but probably not for just table for two, or date night.

The service here has declined quite a bit in the last couple of years. This time it was clear as soon as we sat down that the waitstaff wanted us in and out as soon as possible. Our drinks were never refilled, we were never asked if everything was good, and we were never offered a dessert menu. The food was okay, but for their prices I expect a much better overall experience.

The reason we lucked out to get the last parking space in their parking lot is because Preservation Kitchen was crowded when we visited. It is a popular, cozy restaurant with a real fire in the fire place when you enter. Despite being busy, our server provided good service. All the dishes we had were done well. My friend had the mixed salad for a first course and the snapper for the second. It said the snapper came with spaghetti, but it is a thicker tagliatelle noodle. I enjoyed the mussels for a first course and the pork chop for the entrée. The pork chop was not dry at all. The chocolate panna cotta was a nice end to our meals. The portions at Preservation Kitchen are good sized so you will not leave hungry.

Service was beyond slow. It took over an hour to get our entrees after ordering. We saw 3 different tables who came after us - one of them WAY after us - served before us, finish before us, and leave before us. The brussel sprouts appetizer was amazing, but the entrees and dessert were blah. Not a lot of flavor. Poor quality for the price.

Really nice. The restaurant is housed in an old Bothell mansion which has been very tastefully refurbished for the venue. It's warm with fire places, and feels like a trip to the country. Very nice. The food was so-so, nothing very special, but not bad either. Desert was really good, we liked the soufflé. Parking is a nightmare, with a small, cramped lot.

I had the Wild Ragu in the past and it was great. The last 2 times were bad. It seemed like it was rushed and last time I had to send it back bc the ragu was too doughy. That is the first time ever I have sent a dish back.

Historic home made into quaint fine dining. Bathroom upstairs and creaky floors complete the home vibe. Unique upscale dishes and attentive staff keep us coming back.

Great food! Really fresh and local. Went during restaurant week and ordered from the Restaurant Week special menu (fixed price) and the value was phenomenal. The server was knowledgeable and the atmosphere was cozy, like sitting in a house next to the fire. It was a really enjoyable evening.

Family was trying something new for easter dinner. This restaurant had really great reviews. It is a really cute place but was just not for us. My dinner the cioppino was very good but I ended up getting very sick, my brothers steak was extremely undercooked though asked for medium rare and asked for a sundae for desert and the smallest amount of ice cream had been brought out. My brother had not complained but when we asked about the sundae all the waitress said was oh sorry. The service was decent but in the end we all felt very rushed. For the overall cost I am extremely disappointed and really wish I could give a better review but cannot.

At first, there was confusion about my reservations. I made them for Easter Sunday three weeks prior. My daughter, as well as myself, called to confirm. Both times they said there was no reservation for us. They were filled that day. Reservations were for 12 noon.
I called one last time at 7 pm the night before Easter. Whoever answered, said we did have reservations. No phone call to let me know.

As far as the food, everyone at my table liked what they were served.
I found my Vegetarian omelet very tasteless. No seasoning. I had to load pepper and salt to give it flavor. I only ate half of it.

Our server was wonderful though, I must say.

We had our family in for Easter Brunch and quite frankly it was pretty disappointing.
While the service was fine and the atmosphere OK, their food was not up to par at all.
With their perceived reputation we were anticipating a GREAT meal, but is wasn't even in the same league as a lot of even lesser known restaurants.

Don't think we'll be going back there. Sorry!!

Easter brunch. Staff appeared unorganized.
4 out of 6 drinks and plates were served with missing items (sugar for coffee, olives not in Bloody Mary, missing bacon, wrong toast served).
Food was average. Duck was dry.

We were seated at 9:30am and the room was not full. Our waiter asked if we would like coffee cake or beignets to start. We ordered beignets and 1/2 hour later, that order had not arrived. Had to inquire about its whereabouts as our waiter did not return to check on us. Watched other tables that had arrived after us get served before us. Our meals came 45 minutes later (unacceptable for any meal but especially breakfast) and the potatoes were cold. The waiter was also very inflexible. We had overheard the waiter and the next table offer to ask the kitchen about a modification but our waiter insisted there were no modifications. We were also not offered a children's menu even after our daughter had asked about modifying a meal to make it more 'kid friendly'. Had to go inquire and obtain a children's menu from the hostess and revise our order. Our table was also cleared while my husband was still eating...very rude. The whole experience was disappointing.

The staff was friendly and helpful, service excellent, food very good and ambiance perfect for our foursome. The bar atmosphere was very pleasant, and the bartender most accommodating. The only glitch was finding no parking in the small lot; it would have been most helpful had there been a sign indicating we could park next door. But the evening went so well, we will return.

Our experience unfortunately was not great. It began with them seating our party in two separate places even though we were under the same reservation. How many reservations for Ashley party of 4 at 11AM can you possibly have?? Thus continued the lack of professionalism with our server I believe his name was Logan, who was very obviously high on something. He slopped coffee all over the table and didn't even bother to wipe it up. We went and grabbed a napkin from another table when he didn't come back. When the food came, my french toast was raw. How do you screw up french toast?? The bread was still dough in the center and then it was coated with uncooked egg. Gross. My husband had maybe 5 tiny pieces of potato "hash" to go with his omelet. Portion size was not great. Our friends were equally unimpressed with their eggs benedict selections. Again it took the server so long to come back and check on us that everyone else had finished their meal, and I was still sitting there with raw food. At that point I was completely over the experience and I went home and made myself food, rather than wait for a remake. It was our first and last time eating here. Bad food aside, the service was even worse. It's a pretty neat building but needs to be taken over by people who know what they're doing.

Preservation Kitchen was recommended to us by our best friends as a comfortable venue with good food. We arrived early and discovered a corner table near the fireplace in the dining area near the bar. We started with the polenta fries, pomegranate vodka spritzer and a bubbly called Glass Royale. The fries were crisp and very tasty with the spicy aioli dip. It was difficult to choose what to pick for dinner from the eclectic menu. Everything sounded goof! We decided on the vegetarian Stuffed Squash and a Cod and Shrimp seafood platter. The seafood plate included shrimp and three large pieces of cod, crisp fries, coleslaw, and Caesar salad. Both dishes were generous portions and delicious. To end the meal we had the Lemon Soufflé. It was light and airy.

What made our evening special was our server, Alli. She was welcoming, personable and professional from start to finish. Alli cheerfully checked with the chefs to get answers to our questions about ingredients that might have caused an allergic reaction.

We’ll be back! And definitely want the same table and server!

Preservation Kitchen is one of the few restaurants in the area that offers well prepared duck. It is a real treat, since few restaurants in this part of the country do--although it is more common on the East Coast and Europe.

Great food and service! Love the atmosphere and staff. Too often we leave a restaurant thinking we could have made that meal better and at a fraction of the price, and not have to tip anyone for mediocrity. NOT HERE. We left knowing we may have spent a wonderful evening at the best restaurant in Bothell or anywhere nearby...and no, we can't recreate their lucious selections at home, so we'll just have to go back....soon.

Food was delicious and the specialty drinks were fantastic. I highly recommend the salad with ranch dressing, of all things, and the chicken chipotle sandwich. The chocolate kaluaha cocktail was amazing as well. Fun place, a little hidden gem in Bothell. FYI parking is very tight, so plan on taking an Uber, or if going in a group, all travel in one car. Also we had a reservation, yet had to wait for a table. After a few minutes, we just sat at an open table in the bar and it was great. Super fun and we did not have to worry about raising our voices when we were having a good time. I would definitely go back here again. Thanks so much.

First time coming here was absolutely amazing but the second time was a huge disappointment. When I came here with my sister and brother for a birthday breakfast last week we did not get our food for an hour, the server blamed it on the kitchen and then avoided us, and when the food came out it tasted horrible. Not worth trying again.

A local favorite!
We love the kitchen and our favorite menu items are the brussel sprouts appetizer, the beet salad and the wild boar ragout. It's very hard for me to order anything else, but their menu has regular favorites and seasonal varieties.
For cocktail-ers, they have infused liqours and their cocktails are great.
There's a great bar with lots of room and selections - we've eaten in the bar as well, and it's also very good. More casual and drop-inabble.
We've also been there for their summer shakespeare outdoors on the patio, super awesome!
It's hard to find so you have to look for it on the north side of the street, in a house on a hill, but it's in a great central location for folks like us who have friends scattered all over the area.
It's well worth it - we've introduced several friends and meet there frequently.

Went for Valentine’s Day and had a great pre-fix menu. We both had the filet mignon and it was cooked perfectly. The crab cakes were awesome and both of our desserts were as beautiful as they were tasty. The restaurant is actually the residence of a previous mayor and I can see why they converted it into the quaint restaurant it is today. I had the Brown Sugar Bourbon after dinner, and it tasted just like Christmas in a glass! We will definitely be back here.

Expensive fixed price Valentines Dinner. Seated in the back of the ale house rather than main restaurant. Appetizer was stale. Salmon was luke warm. Salad with strawberries was fresh, but dressing was bland. Crepe dessert was the only good course. Wine pours were generous.

Won't return again.
