About this restaurant

  • Romantic
  • Good for special occasions
  • Neighborhood gem
Preservation Kitchen celebrates sharing a good meal with friends and family. We believe that all great things begin at the dinner table.

Preservation Kitchen preserves the traditions of regional cuisine and drink. The Northwest seasonal menu supports local producers, and uses sustainable, organic ingredients when possible to create the perfect “fine dining comfort food.” Pair your food with a drink from the extensive book of Wines & Libations to complete your meal.

Preservation Kitchen offers the elegance, warmth, and comfort of celebrating any occasion with the ease of feeling at home with family and friends, but without you doing any of the work. The restored historic 1916 Kaysner Estate was formerly home to Bothell's mayor and is located in a woodsy naturalistic setting. During the summer the outside patio is a relaxing area to grab a cocktail for the daily Happy Hour while enjoying the sprawling grounds.

No parking, no one at front desk, slow service, absent waitress, my chicken was raw, sent back & it was raw again. I didn't eat it! My bill was adjusted (?) they said. Did not seem correct. I gave up since it took so long & just left. Nothing good about the experience.

Service was excellent and food was delicious. There was a wedding reception so the noise level was probably a but louder than normal otherwise everything was perfect for a date night with the wife.

It has changed since we’ve last been (approx 1 year ago). The ambiance wasn’t the same, we were all crammed into one room. It was very loud. The food wasn’t as good as we remembered

I've been here twice for their brunch and have been pleased with the food while it wasn't a knock my socks off experience taste wise. They do have a beautiful play grotto for little ones well stocked with natural toys such as sticks and pine cones as well as pots and strainers. My kids had a GREAT time and it allowed the adults to enjoy our conversations. The service was a bit slow and cold. We were sitting on the patio during a not so busy time and expected that the service would be more attentive since we were a large party. Overall, I would go back again for the option of letting my kids explore the play area but would certainly order some different dishes and wish for more friendly and prompt service.

I do want to go again to this place to give them a second chance. Our daughter & her boyfriend loves this place and their food. We went for Sunday brunch. They were short staff we were told. Service was bad & the meals were bad to so-so. Mixed up the orders. Eggs were suppose to be over easy, but came basically hard boiled. One person asked for bacon, but didn't get it. One asked for English muffin and got it at the end of her meal. It was just little things like that but when it keeps adding up you get a little fed up. Had to asked for 2nd refill on coffee. Nothing special .. and kind of disappointed with the place. We will go again for dinner, just hoping it was all wrong because someone didn't show up for work that day.

This is our first time for breakfast. I thought the food was good. Everyone at the table had something different. The price was good along with the service. They have outside seating which is a plus on a great day.
