AWESOME FOOD-TUNA appie is to die for!!!! Great service as well !!!
Was there for buck a shuck oysters. We ordered appies along with the oysters. Everything was EXCELLENT! Will definitely be back!
Great service, ambience and fabulous food!! Highly recommend the white wine sangria as well. And I even received a complimentary dessert of choice for my birthday!
Friendly greeting, nice comfortable space. Had a nice table by the window. The cocktail and wine were both great. Highlight was the food. Lovely board of sausage, chicken liver pâté, among others. Huge wedge salad with croutons, tomatoes, and a nice blue cheese. Scallops were sweet and seared well. Sizeable portions so no room for dessert. Recommend for those who like creative and adventurous foods, but they also have fried chicken, fish and chips, steak, burgers for some classy familiar options. Will go back!
Excellent food, nice atmosphere and excellent service. An enjoyable experience, highly recommend.
We had never been here before. The ambience and the menu were attractive. The bread was slightly stale. The scallops were a bit overcooked. The sauce should have been deglazed more to eliminate the alcohol taste. The tortiere looked a bit seared as if it had just been warmed and got a bit scarred. The bottom layer of crust was rather firm. The filling was tasty but was a bit watery. The salad was very good. The music was anything but soft and French. We asked that it be turned down several times. We were told that it couldn't be adjusted. I suggested that they just turn it off.
We're not sure we should give the place another try. Are there things that are going to be improved now the restrictions have eased somewhat?
Great service. Menu had a good variety and food was very tasty and well presented.
A varied menu with many interesting choices. Quiet due to the current protocols but still a warm ambiance. Great service and the food itself was very good.
An awesome place to go on a night out with friends or family but also a great place for a special night out or a date night.
My friend took me out for my birthday and we had a fantastic time.
Food was great, loved the atmosphere, and service was very prompt!
Will definitely be dining there again!
Patio was lovely and quiet with a great ambience where you can watch the sun set. Wine special was great. Was a party of 4 with my mom and partner celebrating their birthday. Food was excellent for all, plates were hot, and desserts were a great ending. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Wine and water glasses were always quick to be topped up.
Good food and amazing oyster!! Also great service
Nice atmosphere. Good choices on the menu. Food was excellent, will definitely go back.
The disability buttons did not work, or were not existing.
The food is very good but expect to wait well over an hour for it. I would have given 5 stars all around if it wasn’t for the exceptionally long wait.
Loved the plant-based options, though wasn't able to try them all. I will go back, and yes, have already recommended based on the plant-based options.
We made our reservation two weeks prior to dining experience and yet had to wait 20 minutes past our reservation time because other customers were still seated at the table they chose for us. Poor planning.
Although they apologized twice, nothing was done to make amends.
Waitress was frazzled.
The food was exceptional! I highly recommend trying this restaurant if you haven’t already.
Different but delicious dishes. Good service. Well worth a visit
Had our first dinner at Preservation after seeing others rave about it. It did not disappoint! And they went above and beyond to make our Anniversary dinner special!
Music is very loud and when we asked them to turn I down they plainly defused. The food was nothing special for the price point and overall underwhelming experience. I will not be coming back.
Such complexity in every dish. Must try place if you haven't been yet.
The scallops in tarragon cream were delicious and expertly prepared and plated. The citrus couscous complemented the scallops wonderfully. The arctic char was heavenly. The green beans (a favorite) were nice and crisp and the polenta...unexpected, but a delicious addition. The oysters were were small, but fresh and tasty.
We found the noise level to be excessive. The music was very loud...maybe people had to speak loudly to be heard over the music? No reviewers have commented about noise, so maybe it was an "off night".
Thank you for a very tasty dinner.
We dined in the patio! Amazing! Food, service, overall experience! Oysters were so good we ordered more and more!
This was our first time there. We brought my wife's older parents, who we hadn't dined out with in almost two years.
The décor was beautiful, different, and classy. The serving person was wonderfully polite and professional.
My father in law who comes from a French Canadian background was thrilled to see Torchière Pie on the menu. He rarely orders it out because it never matches up to his memory of his Mother's recipe. Well, this time it did. Both my wife's parents had the same meal and both absolutely enjoyed it.
My wife and I both ordered the Pickerel and Chips and we loved it. The fish was battered beautifully - a rarity. The chips were hot and crispy - also becoming a rarity it seems. Overall they knocked it out of the ballpark!!
We are all very happy to have a new favourite restaurant to go to!
Locally inspired French food that is off the charts good.
Service was mediocre. Chicken needed seasoning.
Our dinner was delicious and the service was excellent!
The food and service are always wonderful. Looking forward to the next visit.
Excellent food and drinks. Service was amazing.
We had the duck and fish and chips and found both to be very tasty. Service was attentive. Great overall experience.
Wednesday night “buck a shuck” oysters and25% off sparkling wine made a good start to the meal. The complimentary bread basket was appreciated. Two of us shared the house salad ( very generous portions) and the seared tuna appetizer. The delicious lemon tart rounded out our meal.
The onion soup was salty and had a burnt flavour. The escargot was very good, as well as the scallops entree. The brisket was not exceptional but still good. The steak and frites was a disappointment as the steak was not hot (the pat of garlic butter on top of it did not melt). The Arctic char was over cooked. The creme brûlée was good, as well as, the pavlova. The lemon tart was good, but the filling was grainy (it appeared the sugar was not dissolved well).
The atmosphere was nice and our server was very pleasant. We would try the restaurant again and would order new menu items.
Service was excellent , food was amazing ,portions were perfect . One of the best patios in the city .
Excellent food and great service! We will definitely return for future meals and occasions.
Made a reservation, seated 15 minutes after that time. We came for oyster night, but they were out when we dined, without apologies from our server; she could have offered us an appetizer to make up for the only reason that we went there. Food was mediocre and the service was less than what you should expect from the environment that they are trying to create. There really should be mussels on the menu at such a place. There are better French-inspired restaurants to spend your money ...
I loved the place. Very nice decor. I had the mushroom bourguignon and it was too die for. Great flavour. Servers were very attentive.
A great new addition to the Winnipeg restaurant scene. Creative and delicious cocktails, an outstanding charcuterie board to start, and hearty and flavorful entrees. The brisket was to die for, the scallops and couscous was amazing and make sure you have room for dessert. Only disappointment was the Arctic char, which lacked seasoning and was a tad greasy.
Definitely will be back!
Delicious food and wine and attentive staff. Had Charcuterie, scallops and summer duck salad, all beautifully presented and generous in portions. Lots on the menu that we'd love to try.
This place is a true local gem. I have thoroughly enjoyed every meal I have ever had here, and recommend it to all my friends and colleagues!
We love the fresh food, the "Buck a Shuck" oysters are especially great! Salads always taste fresh and crispy! This restaurant is high on our go to list now that things are open.
