Small and cozy gourmet dining. Bar seats give an up close view of food being prepared. Kinda like an American version of a sushi bar.

Excellent food - well prepared and presented. Our server wasn’t visible right away so we had to ask for her and then varied between confident and nervous all night - partly due to the challenging table layout in the bar area with the high tops which have space challenges and some kind of “sticky” surface which causes classes to stick, etc.

We had excellent brut rose to start and then the cucumber soup, summer salad and snap peas with lobster. All were excellent!

For entrees, we had the sockeye salmon, skate wing, fried duck and lamb mergez. The duck and lamb were very good but the skate wing was under seasoned and the sockeye was supposedly with a shakshuka - pretty tasteless and the egg was more like a scotch egg than anything resembling shakshuka.

Present Company never disappoints. It is my favorite restaurant in the greater-Hartford area because of both the food and the staff.

Kitchen was very slow. Menu has some odd combinations which didn’t work well. Service was excellent despite this. The owner is present and attentive, and the setting is atmospheric.

Everything was great. The wine pasta was amazing. I had the lamb it was perfect . We will be going back to explore their menu .

WOW! What an amazing place! We set at the counter in order to watch the action and what action it was! Chef Jeffry, Jesse and Ben put on a great show, just by the professional "performance." The food on the chef's tasting menu was a little of this and a little of that from the main menu, which was perfect. We had the most amazing Salmon tartar appetizer and that was just the beginning! These folks rock! Lydia was our server and she was as polished as the kitchen! Go and sit at the bar! You'll LOVE it... I know we did.

Present Company has to rank with the best in the Northeast. If this restaurant were in Manhattan it would take a month to obtain a reservation. Absolutely wonderful.

We have been to Present Company several times. It is easily among then best restaurants in the Farmington Valley. Their vegetable dishes are particularly excellent — often better than their fish and meat dishes. Their ratatouille amuse bouche was amazing — I hope they make it an appetizer. And the cold cucumber soup was one of the best things I’ve ever had here. A wonderful restaurant.

Great value for money! Delicious food, courteous service. If you go on Tuesdays or Wednesdays, the Prix Fixe menu is the way to go!

Incredible food. I definitely recommend doing the chefs tasting if it's your first time there. Everything really is farm to table. They gave me a quick tour of their entire kitchen. Everything is tip-top. Also, the staff was incredibly friendly. The chefs explained each dish brought to the table giving every detail.

This was our third time here, and we were just as impressed as with the first two. Creative and delicious food, friendly staff, and a relaxing change from those noisy and frantic Blue Back/WHC restaurants.

If you told me last week that I would be eating a root vegetable tartare and loving every minute of it I would not have believed you. But Present Company was just that good! Food that is pretty, delicious, and surprising, definitely worth checking out if you haven’t been! Tip: request a seat at the kitchen bar to watch the action or one of the tables with the “plush seats” for a cozier experience.

A wonderful experience. We had the tasting menu with wine pared with each course, and I would highly recommend this culinary experience. It is well worth it. And sit at the Chef’s bar to watch the magic taking place as they design an excellent experience for you.

Relaxing atmosphere, extremely professional and knowledgeable staff, and AMAZING food! The Manager came over to check on everything and we felt very taken care of by our waitress as well. Definitely a place I would return to and tell everyone about!

Present Company was perfect for a birthday dinner with a friend, but I would come here anytime. The menu was inventive and the food was fantastic. The summer greens salad was to die for and the hangar steak amazing. We sat at the bar, which allowed us to watch the chefs in action.
Can’t wait to return to this special place!

We loved the food and the staff! Wonderful story about the chef's Dad who had grown the heirloom tomatoes we enjoyed throughout our meal. Hope to be back again soon.

Every taste was extraordinary. Each course was a surprise of exciting flavors that in their symphony still managed to feel like comfort food. I can't wait to go back and have something else off the menu. The place was cozy and we felt like we were in our old little world and yet the sounds of others around us made it such a pleasant experience. The place was full the whole time on a Wednesday night and yet never felt crowded or busy. Wait staff was pleasant and knowledgeable and never made us feel rushed. Loved that we could walk right over to the chef area and watch food being prepared and that the chef walked around to interact with guests. ONLY fault was that our table was quote sticky ! OVERALL LOVED IT and will be back. Soon!

I truly enjoy the food. In fact so immensely when we were there in December we literally had to eat with our coats on (no apologies from restaurant or any mitigation). Tuesday night so hot but bearable. Otherwise one of my favorites

Very hot and uncomfortable- did not appear to have any air conditioning. Food and service was very good. We were given a bottle of wine because we could not get the table we requested, which was very nice of the manager. We were put at a high table which was very uncomfortable for my husband and me, who are both 79.

This was my second visit to this restaurant. It just doesn’t have the culinary excitement that the former restaurant had. It’s just another high priced restaurant. One can do better at other restaurants in the area.

Pre fix menu for a Wednesday evening business dinner. Perfect balance of background buzz but not too loud so we could engage in our conversation. Staff was professional and I’ve always had excellent cuisine. Enjoyed Chef’s new menu. Overall excellent experience, bulletproof dinning that makes you look good as the host. Thank you PC!

This was our second visit since the restaurant changed from The Mill at 2t to Present Company. We were there for our 42nd anniversary. They gave us 2 complementary flutes of champaign, which was very thoughtful. My wife had a duck dish, and I had a lamb-wrapped-in-sausage dish, and both were superb, as was the flourless chocolate cake for dessert. (The was the tasting menu.) Our waitress was extremely friendly and attentive. Absolutely worth the 45 min. drive from where we live, even in rush hour.

Oh my, Present Company is spectacular. The food is "out of this world" delicious. We typically do the chef's tasting menu which is always awesome but we decided to deviate from that tonight as my husband had a hankering for the lobster roll. I had the chilled cucumber soup. Wow! You've got to try it. My husband had the tomato salad and said it exceeded his expectations. I had the salmon for my entree. Superb. My husband had the lobster roll and he said it more than hit the spot (thank you Chef for making it the hot version). We shared a chocolate cake dessert with a pistachio accompainment - so good! We sat at the bar and watched all the magic happen with our chefs. And Tom, the co-owner is always a delight to speak with. So warm and inviting to everyone. Everything is meticulously prepared. Something I love about this place is that Chef Lizotte changes the menu which keeps it very interesting. This is top notch cuisine at affordable prices. The entire way home, all we did was walk about how lucky we were to have a meal like that. If you haven't eaten here, you must. Thank you again Chef Lizotte, Tom and team for a delightful evening!

We ordered the swordfish and the fluke. Swordfish steaks were pounded to 1/2 inch then grilled, an odd preparation that rendered a dry dish. The fluke was very flavorful but salty. There’s a lot of creativity here and the vibe is great sitting at the bar, but in this case, food was only average.

Nice atmosphere, intimate venue (small), great service, knowledgeable servers (professional), the food was good and an overall good experience but in my opinion they should go easier on the salt. Most of the dishes were overly salty. But again, overall a good dining experience.

The muse bouche was outstanding, the scallop appetizer was ok but I found several of the dishes lacking in Chef Jeff's usual depth of flavor. The menu was definitely heavy on the fish entrees. I had the King Salmon and I found the texture to be off and again not up to the usual 5 star standard. Our server was excellent as was the atmosphere.
