Always a wonderful culinary experience. A bit of a lengthy wait before entrees were served. But, the food was worth the wait.
Great new menu! Fabulous experience 👍
Present Company has been a must for our family since it was The Mill at 2T. Scrumptious cuisine, excellent wines and chef flexibility with dietary needs. We always feel special as the owner brings our main course himself and is so personable. It is perfect for quiet dining.
Surprised about the pricing; food was ok, some good such as the halibut. I know for sure it wasn’t toasted chicken.
We had dinner reservations for a set time, but the restaurant did not take us until 45 minutes later. It did not look atypically busy to warrant such a delay in sitting. The menu offered a 3 or 5-course meal. My husband ordered an appetizer and two entrees. I ordered a salad, entree, and dessert. My salad arrived with my husband’s appetizer. His appetizer was good but not great. My salad was tasty. Then, my husband’s two entrées arrived about 25 minutes later. By 10pm, I had only been served a salad and my husband had already completed his meal. His entrées were covered in cream and lacked flavor. When my cod dinner finally arrived, it too was covered in cream despite the fact that I told the waitress that I cannot eat cream. By that point, we just simply wanted to leave. My chocolate cake dessert was packed in a to-go carton, we paid our $172 bill for two people, and left. Later the next day, I tried my dessert. It did not resemble a chocolate cake in the slightest. This is the first time I have ever thrown a dessert away in my entire life. We will not be back. It was an awful experience.
The chef specializes in sauces that compliment the dish. Our first time at the restaurant and we are already planning our next visit.
The food was amazing! The flavor combinations surprised us and eat bite we got a hint of a different favor that really came together. This is a true dining experience and the food is meant to be tasted, savored and enjoyed.
Chef Jeff and Tom are the reason we dine here whenever we have the opportunity. The food, service and ambiance are consistently excellent.
Some highs and some lows. Super appetizer was sugar snap peas, with cold lobster. Excellent presentation, bright flavor, and various textures. Swordfish kebabs were also excellent. Beef entree was order medium, was delivered well done while the accompanying vegetables were under cooked. All in all more highs than lows, service was good but not exceptional . Friendly, but I’d say could have been more engaging. Certainly think this is one of the more creative menus in the area and will return (menu changes seasonal) but recent meal was a bit uneven. Our first visit was more consistently top quality, but the restaurant was not as busy as our latest Saturday night visit. Would still highly recommend.
We had a fantastic anniversary dinner recently. The staff was remarkable and incredibly attentive. Our server was fabulous, offered us a sampling of a delish eggplant appetizer. They gave us complimentary prosecco for our celebration. The food was top notch and the portion size was perfect. I actually can’t wait to come back to the present company. Our experience was definitely 5 star ⭐️
This was my second time here - spectacular. Needed a special place to say thank you to my new in-laws. We knew this would be impress folks who don’t aren’t normally foodies. The flavors throughout the entire meal captivated my party and left everyone very impressed and appreciative. I can’t wait to go back.
Have been here several times and the food is always good and the service is amazing.
The noise level was a bit high as the evening wore on but the ambiance, food and everything else make it worth it. Highly recommend this wonderful place.
Good overall. Had lamb but the sausage wrapped around it is too fat to the point of upsetting your stomach. Great wine, the waitress was extremely friendly.
I would certainly go back and reffer my friends.
Small and cozy gourmet dining. Bar seats give an up close view of food being prepared. Kinda like an American version of a sushi bar.
The food was superb. A great way to spend an anniversary.
Excellent food - well prepared and presented. Our server wasn’t visible right away so we had to ask for her and then varied between confident and nervous all night - partly due to the challenging table layout in the bar area with the high tops which have space challenges and some kind of “sticky” surface which causes classes to stick, etc.
We had excellent brut rose to start and then the cucumber soup, summer salad and snap peas with lobster. All were excellent!
For entrees, we had the sockeye salmon, skate wing, fried duck and lamb mergez. The duck and lamb were very good but the skate wing was under seasoned and the sockeye was supposedly with a shakshuka - pretty tasteless and the egg was more like a scotch egg than anything resembling shakshuka.
Present Company never disappoints. It is my favorite restaurant in the greater-Hartford area because of both the food and the staff.
Kitchen was very slow. Menu has some odd combinations which didn’t work well. Service was excellent despite this. The owner is present and attentive, and the setting is atmospheric.
Everything was great. The wine pasta was amazing. I had the lamb it was perfect . We will be going back to explore their menu .
WOW! What an amazing place! We set at the counter in order to watch the action and what action it was! Chef Jeffry, Jesse and Ben put on a great show, just by the professional "performance." The food on the chef's tasting menu was a little of this and a little of that from the main menu, which was perfect. We had the most amazing Salmon tartar appetizer and that was just the beginning! These folks rock! Lydia was our server and she was as polished as the kitchen! Go and sit at the bar! You'll LOVE it... I know we did.
Present Company has to rank with the best in the Northeast. If this restaurant were in Manhattan it would take a month to obtain a reservation. Absolutely wonderful.
We have been to Present Company several times. It is easily among then best restaurants in the Farmington Valley. Their vegetable dishes are particularly excellent — often better than their fish and meat dishes. Their ratatouille amuse bouche was amazing — I hope they make it an appetizer. And the cold cucumber soup was one of the best things I’ve ever had here. A wonderful restaurant.
Creative and delicious menu with great presentation and ample portions. Always unique choices with seasonal ingredients.Everything was made perfectly and with care
Food and service were exceptional, as was the ambiance, and the music was perfect! Highly recommended
Great value for money! Delicious food, courteous service. If you go on Tuesdays or Wednesdays, the Prix Fixe menu is the way to go!
Incredible food. I definitely recommend doing the chefs tasting if it's your first time there. Everything really is farm to table. They gave me a quick tour of their entire kitchen. Everything is tip-top. Also, the staff was incredibly friendly. The chefs explained each dish brought to the table giving every detail.
The chef(s) are outstanding. Appetizer, entre and dessert were 1st rate. Bravo to the chefs.
This was our third time here, and we were just as impressed as with the first two. Creative and delicious food, friendly staff, and a relaxing change from those noisy and frantic Blue Back/WHC restaurants.
If you told me last week that I would be eating a root vegetable tartare and loving every minute of it I would not have believed you. But Present Company was just that good! Food that is pretty, delicious, and surprising, definitely worth checking out if you haven’t been! Tip: request a seat at the kitchen bar to watch the action or one of the tables with the “plush seats” for a cozier experience.
A wonderful experience. We had the tasting menu with wine pared with each course, and I would highly recommend this culinary experience. It is well worth it. And sit at the Chef’s bar to watch the magic taking place as they design an excellent experience for you.
The food was wonderful and the service great. I love the open kitchen where you watch your food being prepared. The employees are very personable and attentive. We'll be back!!
Present Company continues to impress...
A restaurant that does it all - service, personality, fabulous food that is seasonally changed and a cozy atmosphere that makes this our favorite place! Bravo 👏
Relaxing atmosphere, extremely professional and knowledgeable staff, and AMAZING food! The Manager came over to check on everything and we felt very taken care of by our waitress as well. Definitely a place I would return to and tell everyone about!
Present Company was perfect for a birthday dinner with a friend, but I would come here anytime. The menu was inventive and the food was fantastic. The summer greens salad was to die for and the hangar steak amazing. We sat at the bar, which allowed us to watch the chefs in action.
Can’t wait to return to this special place!
Excellent meal. Fresh ingredients, unique preparation, always memorable.
Excellent meal, Chef Lizzotte is on to something here! Our server Amanda was great! Look forward to our next visit.
We loved the food and the staff! Wonderful story about the chef's Dad who had grown the heirloom tomatoes we enjoyed throughout our meal. Hope to be back again soon.
Present Company has easily become my favorite local restaurant. Creative, inspired cuisine in an inclusive environment with approachable staff makes the experience truly outstanding.
Every taste was extraordinary. Each course was a surprise of exciting flavors that in their symphony still managed to feel like comfort food. I can't wait to go back and have something else off the menu. The place was cozy and we felt like we were in our old little world and yet the sounds of others around us made it such a pleasant experience. The place was full the whole time on a Wednesday night and yet never felt crowded or busy. Wait staff was pleasant and knowledgeable and never made us feel rushed. Loved that we could walk right over to the chef area and watch food being prepared and that the chef walked around to interact with guests. ONLY fault was that our table was quote sticky ! OVERALL LOVED IT and will be back. Soon!
I truly enjoy the food. In fact so immensely when we were there in December we literally had to eat with our coats on (no apologies from restaurant or any mitigation). Tuesday night so hot but bearable. Otherwise one of my favorites
