We try to go here every couple months and it NEVER disappoints. We always do the five course tasting menu and even if there is something on the tasting that you aren’t excited about, they are willing to accommodate. Staff is very friendly, food is off the charts and it’s always a fun experience.
Anyone who doesn’t love this place is not to be trusted.
The menu changes twice a season, always a reason to return!
Excellent all round. Did the chef's tasting with wine pairings. The food was outstanding, the wines were good. Will go again.
Absolutely delicious! Truly a unique dining experience.
It was a complete dining experience; from the atmosphere, to the food, to conversing with the chefs, it was a fantastic evening out! Highly recommended to anyone who appreciates high quality food!
We have loved Present Company on previous visits, but our last visit of January 9,2019, we were disappointed that our food did not measure up to the exquisite level we have known on all previous visits. We hope it was just a "blip" to the superior quality we have come to know. Our next visit will be telling if Present Company meets the high standards of cuisine we once knew. Respectfully, Tom and Dianne Chauvin, of Simsbury, Ct
Prey fixed menu was delicious and the portions were larger than expected. Try to sit at the. Jed’s Table to get the experience of the cooking staff as they prep everyone’s meals. Great experience.
First time visit and not disappointed. Glad we had reservations! Popular spot.
We enjoyed the delicious cuisine. Loved the creativity. Perfect amount of food based on the selections. The short rib was the best I've ever had. The scallops w/mushrooms was delectable. The dessert was so good that I wish it had been a larger serving. The only criticism is the noise level -- the music was definitely too loud. The pastrami octapus and the venison were exquisite. Can't wait to go back.
Sarah was a great server and owners Tom and Jeff were super accommodating!
PCO never fails to impress! There are no words to describe how delicious the food is. Eating the foie gras and black truffle ravioli on New Years was a spiritual experience. Even though I was full after the second course, I couldn’t stop eating and made it through all 6 courses and of course, enjoyed every bite. My sister and I have spent the past two New Years at PCO and we plan to come back for next NYE and for all of our regular visits. LOVE this place!
New Year’s Eve tasting menu was excellent. Great pairings with something for everyone. Looking forwards to the next change of menu.
The setting is relaxed and friendly . The service and menu options are excellent . The atmosphere and ambience is comfortable .
Amazing in all ways. Great food. Great service. Great place to eat. I’m impressed.
Happy New Year!!
This was our third meal at the counter. The food was delicious with a great blend of flavors. The service is excellent with a welcoming and friendly atmosphere.
Excellent food in a beautiful setting. Highly recommend!
we had a lovely dinner there, the food was delicious and the staff was friendly and attentive. my husband felt his portion was small, but with a large salad first and dessert, it was a great evening we highly recommend, and will most definitely return
Present Company becoming our favorite place for excellent food and wine. We were a bit surprised that the menu had not changed since our last visit but we had no difficulty finding another great entree and first course. Potage and artichoke appetizers were outstanding. Poached swordfish was phenomenal as were the scallops and wild mushrooms. Portions could be a bit larger, but the meal and service were great.
Great food and great atmosphere. Great place to go to have something unique. Food is outstanding.
After doing a mediocre job celebrating my wife's birthday last year, I wanted to really make her happy this year. It was a huge success. From the moment we walked in the door, and for the entire evening, we were taken care of by a personable, professional staff, who clearly have thought about and care about the whole customer experience. We walked in the door and the hostess approached us and asked us for our name on the reservations. We were 15 minutes early and the place was full on a Wednesday night. She got us drinks to enjoy while we waited for the folks in our seats at the chef's counter to finish their desserts. The room is rustic, but setup in a thoughtful manner, and fitted with high end furniture and fixtures. It was decorated for the holidays a minimalist/tasteful way. When we were shown to our seats, the experience took off to another level. We both decided on the 5 course chef's tasting menu with the wine pairings. I would highly recommend anyone going for the first time to do the same. Chef Jeff, Ethan and their crew are well trained, talented, and obviously focused on becoming one of the top restaurants in Connecticut. I believe they have achieved that goal. The dishes are as thoughtfully prepared, as beautifully presented and as incredibly delicious as any fine restaurant at which I've eaten anywhere in the world. We will be back often.
Present Company is the best restaurant near Hartford. The menu us always exciting with options for anyone's taste. The small scale of the dining rooms makes it perfect for small, special occasions. Jeffrey Lizotte is dynamic and creative. It is truly a special place.
The food was excellent, the menu full of very unusual dishes, we'll be going back to try other things.
The wait staff was top-notch, we could not have asked for better service.
The space is a little tight, and there was one very loud group that should have toned it down.
Prices were very reasonable for the fare.
Can’t wait to go back. Food was extraordinary. Coffee was the best I had in years and the dessert was out of this world—like nothing I’ve tasted before.
Foos was great. Good variety to chose from..
Just amazing, food and wine pairings along with the mix of flavors outstanding.
It was a great place to have dinner with friends. The night we went it was a Prix Fixe menu. The selections were diverse and wonderful! The service was awesome. We had a very enjoyable evening
He great customer service! And a complementary dessert from the Chef! Love the open kitchen style!
Service and food are always excellent. Food is out of this world. Can’t go wrong with anything you order. Great place to try new food you normally wouldn’t. The warm atmosphere makes you feel like you are eating dinner at a friends home. And it helps that the staff is amazing across the board, always making you feel welcome and at home.
This is a very good restaurant with great ambiance. The menu is a little different with small entree portions, but we were able to have both a meat and a fish entree as part of the 3 course prix fine menu. The amount of food was ample and in hindsight we probably would have preferred a soup, a salad and one entree. You can also choose a dessert as on of the 3 courses. The price of $45 for 3 courses was reasonable. The sauce on one of the fish courses was barely warm and should have been hotter, but that was the only short-coming. The Sancerre wine was excellent and the staff were very nice. Great decor also.
Start to finish, a perfect evening at Present Company. The meal was perfect. We were a party of 6 and everyone was thrilled. A special place, worth the drive from anywhere.
We’ve dined at Present Company several times, and once gain it did not disappoint. Probably one of the best meals you can get in CT. Love the atmosphere, open kitchen, friendly professional service and staff. Highly recommend!
This was a great meal!
My husband and I went and did the tasting menu paired with wine. Our server was wonderful, she was very knowledgeable on the wine and food and extremely attentive. The food was phenomenal and you could tell each dish was well thought out and paired appropriately with the wine. We look forward to returning and highly recommend checking out present company!
Absolutely delicious, a delight and unexpected, LOVED it!
Excellent food, once it arrived. Nearly two hours for a 3-course dinner is way too slow.
Noise level was oppressive; 80 to 85 db, way higher than "busy traffic, vacuum cleaner, loud music) and not far from "diesel truck, power mower". Having to shout over dinner made dining experience very unpleasant.
The experience is as great as the fabulous cuisine!
Our first time to this respected restaurant and where we brought dear friends visiting from.of town. The next day, all four of us said we could go back again today and order the same meal. I can’t recall ever feeling that way before.
The restaurant is intimate; the staff operates as a cohesive team and project really appreciating the management and working there. Savanah, our server was perfect, anticipating our needs and answering any questions. Both owners, the chef, Jeff and front of the house manager, Tom visited our table.
But the meal... the 3 course prix fixe menu , our choice, offered a choice from each section - “ from the Farmer, from the Butcher or From the Sea. We all chose a selection from two categories and the third dessert. Our server chose the order to serve each portion that was the size of large tappas. Several of us had an amazing roasted carrot dish followed by short rib with Rouboucon (sp) prepared potatoes. Each dessert was excellent from the pear, apple or chocolate that we ordered.
Bottom line: we look forward to returning and highly recommend this fabulous restaurant.
Amazing food, and perfect experience for foodies
friendly staff and attentive to details, excellent food, original wine selection!
you can't go wrong here!
