Prepkitchen - Little Italy Ratings and Reviews
My friend and I met up for dinner. We shared the chicken piri piri and the sweet potato and kale lasagna. The chicken was moist, full of flavor, and came with these crispy potatoes. The lasagna was comfort food without being too heavy. The service was very good.
Excellent service from our server and the food was delicious! Came for dinner with family who was visiting from out of state. I ordered the chicken fried trout - amazing and a tad spicey which I love. My boyfriend got the pork chop which was also cooked perfectly. We’ll be back!
Bummed that you couldn't look out the window and people watch. The Charcuterie board was amazing, but wish the olives were seedless. There wasn't enough veggies on the menu or varieties of non-meat, non-spicy, non starch. The cocktails were awesome! The dessert was very yummy.
I would come here again for cocktails and drinks and go somewhere else for dinner.
Loved the servers and hostess!
Still excellent! We first visited Prepkitchen in Little Italy 2 years ago and I'm writing this review sitting in another Prepkitchen property, Whisknladdle in La Jolla. This entire restaurant group knows what it's doing. Contemporary styled, farm to fork casual restaurants with excellent food and exciting takes on comfort food classics. We still need to try Catania and Milagro, and we can't wait to do so!
The Prepkitchen was the highlight of our trip and they made our anniversary very special. Their food is incredible, the best tartare and muscles you can find in San Diego. Hands down the best restuarant for a date. I will definitely recommend The Prepkitchen to people or couples looking for a great place, great atmosphere, amazing staff, and decadent food.
It was surprisingly quiet for Sunday brunch, but no complaints because the restaurant is beautiful, and the food was amazing. We had the french toast, and friend chicken sandwich - both really good. Beautifully designed spot, feels good in there. Would definitely go back again.
When I booked this reservation I requested a window seat. When we arrived, apparently no record of my request. The waitress offered a complimentary salad. We ordered and it took FOREVER. Not only did the waitress recognize the issue with the kitchen but bought a round of drinks for the three of us. Further, the waitress continued to check on us throughout our meal which was delish! We then waited for her to come by with a desert menu which took FOREVER. She recognized the delay as they were packed on Saturday night and bought our deserts. Talk about customer service! We shall return!
Lovely place in Little Italy. We went for Sunday bruch. The windows were open with a nice breeze. The service was excellent. The food was a mixed bag.
We started with the butterscotch muffin - which sounded yummier than it was.
The shrimp avacado toast with poached eggs and hollandaise was delicious. Perfect poach on the eggs. The shrimp was lost in all the other flavors. They could leave the shrimp off and it would not be missed. The dressing on the greens was light and delicious. The potatoes were nice and crispy, but had no seasoning and were bland.
The french toast was disappointing. It was thick-cut and had not soaked long enough in the egg mixture so it was simply dry bread in the middle.
Worth a try. Interesting menu.
when making the reservation I wrote that it was a birthday - when they called the verify that morning they noted it was a birthday dinner. The hostess did not tell the waitress, so we did not get anything until I brought it up literally as we were leaving. The waitress was wonderful, but the front desk was snippy with me and said "well we are human and make mistakes" - then they blamed the waitress and it was not her fault. How hard is it for the front people MANAGEMENT to follow thru with this when the waitress was busy and they were not!
This is actually the third time you've been to Prep kitchen. The first two times the food was excellent. This time the food was sorely disappointing. One of the persons in our party ordered the pasta Bolognese. The pasta was definitely under cooked and hard. And believe me we like pasta Al dente. Another person got the whiskenladle burger. It was ordered medium. Medium to me is pink. The burger was severely over cooked and dry. The only thing we enjoyed in our meal was the Caesar salad. That was excellent. The service was fabulous. Our waitress was extremely accommodating and very lovely. We did not complain about our meal while we were there. As far as value is concerned I found this meal extremely overpriced. Our total bill with tax was $131 for a hamburger, a bowl of pasta, two Caesar salad's and the beet salad and two cocktails. Although the service and ambience is lovely I don't believe I will return here for dinner.
