I have eaten here several times. Always been wonderful. Bacon wrapped dates are a personal favorite. Everything is exceptional. Highly recommend. You’ll be glad you came to prep kitchen

I had the butternut squash ravioli, and my hubby had the chicken soup. I love the filling and the sauce of the ravioli, but I prefer their agnolotti version—the agnolotti pasta was thinner and/or less al dente than the ravioli. Still tastes delicious though! Hubby didn’t love the soup. May just be a personal preference thing, though. We also had the carrot cake for dessert. It was just OK (the frosting had a weird consistency—seemed like it sat near a heat source before it was served). Missing the chocolate budino on the menu! My pinot noir was very good. Service was very attentive. Great neighborhood spot. Reservations recommended.

Our team had a very enjoyable lunch here, sat outside on the patio and received prompt, friendly service and delicious food. Everyone enjoyed their meal.

This is a great restaurant and we eat here frequently living walking distance. We were a little disappointed on Sunday night as we made reservations looking forward to their great steak. They were all out of steaks!! Our waiter was a little snooty which has never been the case before. I'm sure we will be back but hope it is up to the previous excellence

Enjoyed the cozy indoor dining area. The service was very good, expedient and friendly. I had the fish stew which was outstanding. I would definitely recommend Prepkitchen in Del Mar over the La Jolla location.

Had a wonderful dinner during restaurant week. Each course was generous and delicious. Had leftovers enough for another meal. Really enjoyed the bacon wrapped dates, the chicken and fabulous desserts.

DelMar prep kitchen is generally good. Unfortunately the food does no measure up to the food quality, preparation and innovation of Whisknladle in La Jolla - too bad!

Food and drink was really good. I had the beef ravioli and my wife had a shrimp salad. Don't sit outside though. Lots of traffic noise and they allow non service animals. Guy next to us gave his dog a bowl of some just add water dog food that looked like chunky black sludge. Made my pregnant wife nauseated. Also, the white napkins had an insane amount of white lint flying off them that got all over everything, so don't wear a dark shirt or dress if you go here. It was okay but I wouldn't go here again.

Neh, not much food on the plates for the price. Very loud, even outside. Amount of wine in the glass was puny. Food was good. My friend with food allergies got the wrong plate of food that had to be sent back. Not a place for an intimate quiet dinner. Could not have a conversation because of load, drunken tables around us. And it was a Thursday night. I might recommend to kids who need the volume up, the drinks thin and don't mind being ripped off.

We enjoyed a lovely dinner started with chicken liver pate.
It was served with a delicious toast, fresh apricot and cherry or honeycomb spread. Next, a wonderful Caesar salad that actually tastes like it should.
Our entrees were delicious as well.
But here's the best part. Our server, Dana. She was proud of the food. Enthusiastic about where it came from and how much of it was house made.
She admired the folks with whom she works who make it all
happen. None of this was over the top. It was honest conversation. If I could, I would create a job for her. She's a great employee.

Appreciated patio seating so our little poodle could be with us for our anniversary dinner. I added that it was our 32 anniversary but I don't think the restaurant read my additional reservation comment.
