Prego at the District Ratings and Reviews
We enjoyed the restaurant until a loud party came in, although we'd been told that there were no parties happening near our seating area. The service was slow, too - once we ordered our food, it took some time for the meals to arrive, and I had to request refills on iced tea.
This was my first time here and I was well impressed. The restaurant itself is visually pleasing to the eye, and I understand that they will be relocating. I only hope their next location will be as lovely as this one. The food was delicious, I really enjoyed the complimentary garlic bread that they give you. I started with the caesar salad which had the right proportion of dressing to the amount of salad. Next I had the bruschetta misto which was good, then I had the spinach ravioli which was very enjoyable. I wish I would have had room for dessert but that was not the case. I look forward to their next venture wherever that may be.
Our valentine's dinner was amazing and perfect at the patio. Nice music, service and really good food! We are both vegetarians. He had the 4 cheese with mushroom and tomato pizza and I had breaded eggplant with cheese on top with spaguetti al pomodoro. Both very delicious! Will come back :-)
Our meals were fantastic, but the service was extremely slow. We weren't seated until almost 20 minutes after our reserved time. It took about 45 minutes to get our drinks after being seated. Our appetizers and entrees were also very slow to come out. The food was delicious, but we were disappointed with the speed of the service.
i chose this place for Valentine's Day because i had great experience during business lunches and dinners a few years back. This time around the service and the food were absolutely horrendous. Confused staff, wrong/cold food, late service, overall subpar restaurant experience. Sorry, I'm not going back any time soon.
We truly enjoyed Valentine's Day at PREGO RISTORANTE. Our first visit to Prego was over 30 years ago. At that time we were single and dating. Fast forward to 2017 and we returned with our adult children to share Valentine's Day with them as we have visited through the years the menu the service and the overall experience has continued to be excellent
Food and service is always terrific. The one exception was the swordfish was just ok! We went during the day and while they have valet parking, it just is time consuming to wait for one valet. I tried to self park in the lot for Irvine Towers, but many of the spots were coned off for the valet. This was in addition to all of the marked VALET ONLY spots. Ended up parking in the other lot instead.
Prego is one of our favorite restaurants in Irvine. Fernando is the best server EVER, and we always request to be seated in his area. The food, atmosphere and service never disappoint! If Chef has his special halibut with roasted tomatoes, don't ever pass it up!!
food was great, but service was not. sat at our table for at least 10 minutes before anyone offered water, bread, or asked if we wanted a drink. Table next to us had 6 people and looked like at least 3 people serving them, not one of which even looked to us to see if we wanted anything....service was very slow....but the food was good. Was probably just an off night
We visited on Christmas Eve. The candles were not lit on the table and only after we asked were they lighted.
The food was alright, but not nearly as good as I remember it. My entree in particular - a carne ravioli in mushroom sauce, was cold and under cooked and the presentation was unattractive.
Finally, the coffee was cold and the tiramisu was still partially frozen.
The Corkscrew Pasta was not properly done and mushy with minimal meat and other added items noted in the menu . Sauce was bland/inadequate and pasta too dry . Asked for a "few anchovies " to go with a the Cesar salad and got a plate (full contents of a can )and an extra charge that was not expected.
This was a favorite spot years ago when we lived in California but the quality is not the same .
Prego has been my favorite area restaurant for over 30 years. Superb, friendly service (many of the staff have been working there for 30+years), the food is always perfectly prepared, and I love the ambiance. It is a large restaurant but somehow is able to create an atmosphere where each group of diners can carry on a table-focused conversation without competing with restaurant noise or other tables.
I hadn't been to Prego's in several years. It's an elegant upscale restaurant in a large office building complex. Marriott close by. Lunch menu offered many good choices. Specials sounded great, but not on the menu. $28 for seared ahi with a mango chutney (delish), mashed potatoes and (undercooked) crunchy brussel sprouts. Seemed pricey, but large dinner-sized portion. My dish was like warm as it was waiting for the pizza. My friend had a large $17 pizza, which looked good. Also more food then needed for lunch. Service was excellent. Four of us ate for $110, with no alcohol and two waters.
