American
Rustic American restaurant in a historic church located in downtown Bentonville, focusing on local and sustainable cuisine. In 1849, John Ruskin wrote The Seven Lamps of Architecture which spread Gothic Revivalism across the western world. In 1904, that same style is used for the First Christian Church in downtown Bentonville. In 2015, Chef Matthew Cooper, son of a Methodist preacher, becomes the executive chef of this restaurant. In 2017, We proudly connect these moments to open The Preacher’s Son.

Great experience, overall, and the food was outstanding. We did have a negative experience when we expressed wanting to stay a while longer and enjoy our wine. The server made a beeline for the host stand and promptly informed us of when the next reservation is. While it was done nicely, it put us off a bit. And when we were leaving, there were many available tables so the comment seemed unnecessary.

Didn't like bench seating, too low to table too close to other guests, liquor pore was small.

Always delicious, the food is phenomenal, the service is top notch, and the location sets the tone. It gets fairly loud in the restaurant, so that was my only complaint, but it was busy and understandably so.

The Preacher's Son is one of our favorite restaurants anywhere. Great food and inventive cocktails that change regularly. If you can get Daniel as your waiter your evening will be set!

Preacher's Son is one of our favorite restaurants in Northwest Arkansas. We have eaten there at least 8 times and every time has been a fantastic experience. However, last Monday night they definitely did not bring their A game. It was not a busy night and even the service was not what we have previously experienced. My wife's rib eye steak was poorly cooked with a lot of fat and gristle. My pork shank, which is one of the best dishes, was smothered in a fruity sauce that was cold in places. My daughter had scallops and she loved the dish. We started with the shaved broccoli salad and the chickpea appetizer. Both were very good. But the very poor steak dinner along with the less than stellar pork shank really put a damper on the evening. The chef tried to compensate for the poor steak dinner with a free dessert. It was a nice gesture but wasn't necessary. When it comes to customer service, you are remembered by your experience at a that restaurant. If it wouldn't have been for the great dinner experiences we have had previously, I doubt we would return to Preacher's Son for a long time. So, come on Preacher's Son, let's step up your game. You are better than what we recently experienced.

What a treat! We felt transported as the atmosphere is so unique from the gorgeous stained glass windows to the interior design. Service was attentive with enough check ins to feel we were being taken care of. The menu is short, but packed with flavorful options. As an appetizer, we ordered the cauliflower to share and it did not disappoint with its size and roasted flavor, resting on a delightful chimichurri sauce. We order the Panisse, the salmon and gnocchi. I originally thought the gnocchi would be made of sweet potatoes from the way the description read, but it was actually herbed gnocchi in a bowl with the sweetest roast carrots and sweet potatoes served alongside. A white cheese that absolutely complemented it all swirled along the side of the bowl balancing the honey.

We loved this experience, which felt like a truly special occasion even on a regular night.

This is one of our favorite restaurants in Bentonville! Being gluten free, it is challenging to find amazing food and being able to eat ANYTHING on the menu is a bonus:) such a beautiful spot and the service was amazing.

My second visit to Preachers Son. Wanted to share it with out of town guests. It was another overall great experience. The only suggestion I would make is for the kitchen to go a tad easier on the salt.

Food disappointing. Duck over cooked; tough. Steak tough, too fatty. Third meal in party was Salmon and it was fine. My sister and I shared a wonderful Brussel sprouts salad. They did not tell us there was a $1.50 split charge- would have been ok if expected. A REALLY good salad. Nice service in a unique setting. Noisy.

I would like to have had one of the tall tables in the larger area of the room for quitter conversation. My wife and I sat at the tables along the wall and they were really too close for private conversation. I could hear everything 2 tables away were saying. Still really enjoyed the overall experience as always. Thank You

The entire experience was great. The food was excellent. The best meat we ever tasted and the salad was delicious. The atmosphere was calm and pleasing. Stuart was our server and he provided wonderful service. He talked to us about the menu and suggested a few things based on our needs and wants. Stuart also answered our many questions about the area. We highly recommend this experience.

Interesting venue; the beer and wine selections were adequate and the ordered drink was prepared correctly. However, the shaved brussel salad and the prime ribeye ordered were both way over-salted to the point where the salt detracted from the flavor of the food itself. A shame that such a good cut of meat, grilled perfectly, was ruined.
