American
Rustic American restaurant in a historic church located in downtown Bentonville, focusing on local and sustainable cuisine. In 1849, John Ruskin wrote The Seven Lamps of Architecture which spread Gothic Revivalism across the western world. In 1904, that same style is used for the First Christian Church in downtown Bentonville. In 2015, Chef Matthew Cooper, son of a Methodist preacher, becomes the executive chef of this restaurant. In 2017, We proudly connect these moments to open The Preacher’s Son.

Great Valentine’s Day dinner with my husband. The Monk fish was wonderful and the Chocolate Molten cake was so good and rich.

The food was excellent. I had the steak fritas with Chimichurri. It was some of the best steak I’ve ever had. My wife had the Chickpea Panisse. It was also very good. We enjoyed all the food, from the appetizer to the dessert. The entire menu is gluten free, which is specifically why we chose to dine there. The atmosphere was a bit loud for fine dining, but service was good and the food was great. We’ll definitely go back.

The Brussel Sprout Salad was so very delicious!!! I highly recommend. The pork shank with grits was also divine. The restaurant itself is so beautiful. The speakeasy in the basement was so crowded after dinner that we didn’t stay, so I’d recommend drinks there first and then dinner.

This is a lovely restaurant. The interiors are beautiful. The menu is limited but diverse. We shared generous appetizers, beets with smoked cashew butter which was unusual and very good, and grilled cauliflower with a chimichurri sauce which was done just perfect, tender but not mushy. Salmon main course was very nice. The only disappointment was a the sweet potato gnocchi. The gnocchi were regular potatoes and very dense, not fluffy the way they should be, served with sweet potatoes and carrots. Because we didn't eat them, they took them off the bills which was considerate. The waiter was attentive and knowledgeable about the wine list and notice that we weren't keen on the gnocchi.

The food was rich and there were only two dessert offerings, a bread pudding and a something else that we thought was too heavy, so we opted to go elsewhere to satisfy our sweet tooth. It would have been nice to have a sorbet or something similarly light. All in all a good dinner.

Had 6pm reservations, so my wife and I went to Undercroft prior for a drink. Really cool vibe down there and was perfect for a pre-dinner drink. Our experience at Preacher’s Son was fantastic, from the food to the service. We had the chicken meatballs with Hanna grits for an appetizer and they were melt in your mouth delicious. For an entree my wife had the chicken schnitzel and I had the smoked chicken pasta. Both were phenomenal!! We will indeed be back!!

Just excellent in every way. Great food choices for all, including vegan. Great atmosphere in a refurbished church building. Airy and fresh. Even got to meet the chef when he came out to our table to ask about our food restrictions. Very comfortable restaurant and delicious food. I can’t say enough good things about this place!

Not only did I enjoy a beautifully presented, delicious meal in a lovely dining room, I was also given the night off from being "that" person. Knowing that the chef genuinely understands what gluten-free means to someone with Celiac Disease gave me the freedom to relax and simply enjoy his delectable creation as well as my handsome date (another Preacher's Son who understands me). I am so grateful for this wonderful restaurant.

One of our favorite places in Northwest Arkansas. Ambiance is fantastic and food is truly amazing. Highly recommend the pork shank and risotto however you really can't go wrong with anything. Great rooftop bar when weather permits and a very cool speakeasy type basement bar that rocks later in the evening. A must visit if you are in Bentonville.

Great staff!
The venue is quite unique offering a great open area with a high ceiling.
We had the chicken schnitzel which was cooked perfectly. Good wine selection.
Also visited Undercroft which is the lounge in the basement. Intimate setting. Very nice.

Preacher's Son has become a favorite for me and my wife. I have a gluten and dairy allergy and they are easily able to accommodate (the whole menu is completely GF). I can always trust that the food will be made safely, it will taste delicious and it will be worth the price. The service is excellent and the drinks are always made well. Great for a celebration or for a nice night out. We always bring our friends here when they come to town.

First time I have eaten at the restaurant, love the architecture. Waiter was very good and everyone loved their food. We came early so the noise level was pretty low but by the time we left it was getting louder. Definitely going to eat at this restaurant again.

Loved the atmosphere. Wonderful transition from a church to a fine dining restaurant. Excellent job of retaining so much of the original architexture and features.

Food was very good---nice presentation---a definitely upscale from most other area restuarants.

Server was friendly and attentive.

We will definitly be coming back again.

(If I had one suggestion to make, it would be to add a small portable heater to the original entry/bell tower area. It was a cold night when we were there and it was a little bit chilly there.)

Some food was good some was not. Potato soup, fried artichokes, fig salad & white bean ragout were tasty. Steak sandwich was subpar: bread was crumbly and steak was chewy with too much fat. Tuna tacos were average. Service was terrible. We did not receive several items ordered. The waiter was not attentive. We had to ask to have our beverages refilled...including water. And he forgot to bring my husbands coffee after being reminded twice.
