   William waa our server - he thoughtfully explained our dining options & made useful recommendations. What a beautiful dining space, truly design perfection. Light, airy, & plenty of space between tables. Make sure to visit the Rooftop Bat & basement speakeasy.

   It was a really strange crowd eating here. It didn't look like a crowd that would enjoy the type of food on the menu. When it become "okay" to wear ball caps in a nice restaurant? It basically ruined the experience of the coolness of the setting and the great menu. "Smart casual " listed as the dress code for this place should mention no ball caps, tee shirts, athletic attire etc. We loved the experience, but wouldn't dine here since the crowd looked like they should be in a sports bar!

   3 out of 4 meals were excellent but the 4th entree not up to the Preacher’s Son standards. The mussels were sandy. So wish the acoustics were better, too, but it’s still a fun place to dine.

    We shared the beet salad. Lovely fresh strawberries and a tasty dressing. Then we had the mussels. Outstanding. And the mahi mahi. Delicious. The passion fruit pie was the perfect ending. And our friendly server was spot on with wine suggestions.

    If you enjoy a little space to yourself when you eat and do not like community seating or people watching you eat this place is not for you! Food was top notch however! Drinks very pricy. $15 for a regular gin and tonic. $20 with tax and tip.

    Very nice setting. Well decorated. On the noisy side. The large open room had an echo. Food was very good but my pasta was not very warm. My wife had the chicken which was very good. Aaron our server was very knowledgeable and attentive.

    We had three cocktails, and each was a home run. Imaginative, complicated and well-balanced. Kitchen was also great. Fresh New Brunswick oysters on the half shell. Mussels cooked in a bouillabaisse were fantastic. So many places over cook mussels. These were perfect - sweet, plump and moist. Good wine list with affordable options. The setting in an old church is quite striking. The prices are towards the high end, but appropriate for the quality of food, service and ambiance. Will go back the next time I’m in town.

    We have dined here twice. Both times the food was a mix of pretty good and not so good. Last night the wife liked her endive salad and pork rigatoni a lot. My beet and strawberry salad had a very sour pickled onion mixed in with the good stuff. And the entree was a piece of seared but otherwise raw mahi-mahi floating in a bowl of watery peas with some potato chips on top. Not real appealing.

    A truly unique setting for a wonderful meal. From start to finish - this was truly a great dinner. The hostess and wait staff was attentive, the food was delicious and ambience was perfect. We will definitely be back!

    Both our appetizers were flavorful and especially fulfilled my desire for different textures and strong flavors. The rigatoni, again, checked the boxes of different textures and full of flavor. My husband, who is quite the fish connoisseur, thought the whole branzino was cooked to perfection with the sauce being just right with the capers. To end the meal, the coffee chocolate pudding was the perfect size to share and was especially creamy.

    Charred carrots (appetizer) a must! Beet and strawberries excellent too. Duck dinner was great, not the best I’ve had but still great. Amazing service and atmosphere. Def worth the $$!!

    Preachers Son is truly one of the most exceptional dining experiences I’ve encountered. Every time I go I am floored, absolutely blown away. It’s the only place I’ve been that I’ve paid give or take $100/person that I’ve thought was worth every penny. I’m a foodie and if you are too, it’s a must.

    Finally got a reservation to eat here. The food was outstanding!! We started with the spicy pork crepes. It was tasty and just enough for two. I had the mussels in a fish bouillabaisse. Some of the best plump and fresh mussels I’ve has in our land locked state. My husband had the rigatoni which was also fantastic! The restaurant is located inside a old church with a speakeasy bar below and a rooftops bar. Reservations needed.

    Loved the little speakeasy downstairs. Service was great, food was fun and well prepared. If you like a lot of activity and bright atmosphere you will love it. If you are looking for low key and quiet, maybe stop downstairs for drinks and appetizers. Beautiful space!

    Our party of 4 had a lovely time as first time diners at this restaurant. Our waiter, Fabio, was very helpful and accommodating. All of us enjoyed the dishes we chose (beet and strawberry salads, Bibb lettuce salad, duck breast and mahi mahi). The only negative was the high noise level. With the wood floors and wooden seats there was no real sound proofing. Other than that, we had a nice dinner.
