We were terribly disappointed after waiting a long time to come to this restaurant. Our service was fine - not fabulous - but efficient. Service was Way too fast - we were in and out in 50 minutes and the meal came right on top of the appetizer. The restaurant is beautiful (albeit very loud and difficult to talk), and that was the best part of our experience. My husband's meal of short ribs was inedible and I don't think it was short ribs. It was a large hunk of meat, completely black on all sides with tough membrane in the middle and the taste was terrible. He sent it back and got mushroom risotto instead, which was fine but had no seasoning and cost $30 for a very small portion size. The server only brought salt to the table when we asked for it (no pepper) and we couldn't find her to get the pepper so he doctored it up with salt and was able to eat it. I ordered the pork shank which was tender and should have been delicious but again, had absolutely no seasoning. I could not salt it enough to cover the very bland flavor. It was served on top of mashed potatoes that were literally swimming in demi-glace (but the demi-glace wasn't bad. It was at least seasoned"
We had the mushroom appetizer which was fine (no seasoning) and a very small portion for a "shareable" dish.
Our check was $175 with tip. I never mind paying for a great experience, but this was anything but a great experience. Too many other options in the area to give this place another chance.
Great atmosphere. Local food sourcing. A little on loud side.
Excellent food. The artichokes were amazing! Corn bread delicious! My son has a severe gluten allergy so finding a gluten free restaurant with delicious food was a treat!
Our reservation was for 11:30 lunch. We were seated a few minutes early. Our waiter was Stu and he was very knowledgeable about the building and the food. We enjoyed our meal and our time spent here. I will definitely recommend this place to my friends traveling to Bentonville. Linda
Outstanding food. Went for Sunday Brunch.
Excellent dining experience. Staff was very friendly and answered any questions we had. We’re already looking forward to our next visit. Thank you for a wonderful meal.
Went here for our anniversary. Great space. The prices are not cheap but you definitely get what you pay for. Everything was delicious if not a bit salty and the portions were adequate. Would definitely return the next time we are in Arkansas.
Loved the short ribs, cauliflower and squash. Cocktails were delicious! Very friendly service and ambience. Looking forward to returning.
Ryan is a great server!
Table was ready on time and the food was outstanding
Preacher's Son is our favorite restaurant in town. My husband and I have now celebrated three anniversaries here, and regularly come back to enjoy all the dishes on the menu. The service and staff are the best, and the food is amazing. You have to try Preacher's Son for lunch, dinner AND Sunday brunch!
The Mixed greens with chopped apple roasted beets and goat cheese heavily caramelized pecans and sweet vinaigrette was fabulous and what I had for my meal. For an appetizer with drinks we shared the Grotto Misti squash. It was the best thing I’ve had in awhile. Cubes squash, firm and crispy with a tempura kind of coating. Delicious!! Husband had the shank. Service was good, waiter knowledgeable. No complaints. Would go back!!
The old church setting was fabulous and the selections each person in our party made was great
Would highly recommend if u r in Bentonville
Your designer(s) have done a good job with the interior, Overall Old Church ambience retention, and a superb site/landscape design.
HOWEVER...………….noise levels are way too high, due to completely insufficient sound-absorbent vertical plane/overhead plane material to absorb these way-to-high noise levels. Suggest you need to work with an appropriate Architect or Engineer who specializes in the matter of noise suppression.
Otherwise, I give you very high marks
Such a beautiful restaurant with a fun atmosphere! The food was absolutely incredible!!! I would say this place makes my Top 5 List and we can't wait to come again next time we are in town!!
Excellent! We were visiting from out of town and went two nights in a row because there was so much on the menu that we wanted to try. Our waiter, Stew, had great recommendations.
The Preacher’s Son was absolutely amazing. Everything from the beautiful bar downstairs to the gorgeous windows upstairs to the amazing food. It was an incredible experience. We will be back in May with 12 of our friends and family.
My husband ordered gnocchi which instead of being potato dumplings was just a bowl of potatoes with crepe freche . I ordered the Mahi which I had to send back because it was undercooked. They were very nice and comped the fish entree and the second one was cooked well but I didn’t like the combination of flavors that can with it.
Food was good, service was good, table is too small to accommodate our food selection.
Great food and excellent service! Would definitely go again.
My short rib was so tough that I could not cut into it. I didn’t want to complain about it because we were with out of town friends but they should have noticed and done something about it.
Luved it as well as the speakeasy below
Great food and ambience
Great service and very good food in this old converted church building. Only drawback - it was really loud in there which made conversation virtually impossible unless you were a good lip reader.
Wonderful food as always. One of the absolute best restaurants!
The grilled sweet potato (brunch) was outstanding. Flavor profile was spot on. This restaurant is a must visit whenever we are in town from Chicago. In fact, I might consider travelling from Chicago just for that brunch again. Perfection.
The concept seems great, the food was reasonably good, but the atmosphere feels a little empty. It's a beautifully renovated space, but lacked 'warmth'. They also accepted our 9 PM reservation and then informed us after they served us drinks (930ish) that the kitchen would close at 10, so it seemed rushed. Chicken meatballs were great, but service was a little standoffish (unusual for the South), so overall I would not rush back.
I would recommend the downstairs bar and the rooftop- not so much the food at the main restaurant. Expensive for mediocre food.
Started off with cocktails downstairs at Undercroft. I had a great Sazerac riff. At the time of our reservation, we were promptly seated and greeted by our waitress. I started off with the cornbread and panisse, followed by the walnut and squash salad. For my entrée, I had the lamb bolognese. Everything was excellent. My highest recommendation.
We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Preacher’s Son. It was our first visit and won’t be our last. We had the cast iron cornbread and roasted cauliflower appetizers which were both excellent. Our entrees were the mushroom risotto and smoked fried chicken. I am a huge risotto fan and this was wonderful. My wife had the smoked fried chicken. It had a nice smokiness to it and was fried but not breaded so the skin was crispy with a great taste. The service was unbeatable. Can’t wait to be back in Bentonville for another night here.
Fantastic food. Very eclectic menu, but everything was outstanding. Great job Chef Cooper!
Risotto was much too salty and I enjoy salt. Also, just not nicely done. Some of the mushrooms had to be cut. Any other taste did not come through.
Disappointed in this meal , especially since I had read the menu and expected much more.
The ambiance was great, but the food was overpriced for what it was. Service was just OK.
I loved the atmosphere and they were very accommodating with all of my food allergies. The food was wonderful and the service was top notch.
Not gonna find your standard menu items here, but you may find some new favorites! Vibe was relaxed, friendly and fun.
The food was amazing. Best grits ever! We loved the venue also.
Lunch was amazing! We had great service and really enjoyed the soup and salad combo. The atmosphere is great for a break from the work day.
Excellent service, food, atmosphere. Exceptional facility with most impressive basement speakeasy and rooftop bar. The Interior of main dining room was breathtaking with those exquisite windows. Beautiful and well designed renovation. Wishing this must-dine establishment much success.
It was great❣️
Awesome experience! Great food, service, and beautiful building. Very Accommodating to dietary restrictions. So excited to go back! Please go and try
