Fantastic food, amazing atmosphere. Top notch service, and delicious drinks to boot! Absolutely will make another trip to Bentonville for this restaurant!
We sat outside on the street level patio. We shared 2 appetizers and both they and the meals were well presented and delicious! The service was also extremely good. Thanks for a great night.
Scallops were absolutely amazing
Menu changed. Got the sea bass - way over cooked and not a good vegetable pairing. Wish they kept the previous menu. Definitely will be a long while before we go back
We could not read the menu and our food was disappointing. Not what we expected for our 10th anniversary dinner. Jay Perkins
It was a lovely evening w friends, great setting, great food!!!
Loved the ambiance and the food is top quality, made with care and great flavors. Gluten free was icing on the cake and those that eat gluten won’t miss it in any way. Wow, can’t wait to go back.
Food was excellent as always! It is our favorite special occasion restaurant in Bentonville.
Fabulous food!!! Great service!
Architecture and antique building repurpose flawless!!! Even replacing the ecclesiastical stained glass with beautiful secular stained glass!
Be sure to enjoy ALL THREE levels!!!
Before dinner drinks in the Speak Easy basement and after dinner drinks on the rooftop in the rooftop bar!!!
A great WHOLE evening of drinks food and entertainment!!!
This was our first visit to The Preacher’s Son. The restaurant is beautiful located inside a church with white cathedral ceilings and stained glass windows making the space very lovely and light. The shrimp and grits with chicken chorizo is The Best shrimp and grits I’ve ever had! I also thoroughly enjoyed the Oregon Sauvignon Blanc. Can’t wait for my next visit!
We were very disappointed after dining here. The food was nothing special and the service was below average.
The atmosphere is pretty but there is a bar somewhere very close and so loud that music is heard through the walls and it’s hard to have a discussion with anyone at the table.
I order the gnocchi and it had zero flavor...the pieces of carrot did have carrot flavor at least. Everything was very plain and bland. Let’s just say we went elsewhere for dessert after our starters and meal and were very glad we did.
Unfortunately, I’d have to say this place was very over rated and had an arrogant feel to it. Very limited menu too!
Beets were the best I have ever had. Everything was fresh. Service awesome. Loved this place
Birthday celebration with friends.
The Preacher’s Son resides in a former church with a beautiful, modern reimagining of the space. The big, arched windows have been redone in sort of a Japanese screen style and are really striking. Our waiter was nice enough. That is the full extent of the compliments I can give this place. I could write paragraphs about how bad everything else was. I’ll just leave it with...Don’t go.
Restaurant is operating in full capacity even though with Covid regulations they should not. We were kicked out before we finished because they needed to seat the next table. While i enjoy their food this time around the experience was not good.
Preacher’s son is fantastic every single time. The wait staff, hostesses, bar tenders, etc are all wonderful. And the food...truly to die for! Brussel sprout salad and pork shank were the choices this time and I could go on and on about them! Will be back soon!
Great venue. Great service. Hidden gem
Another great meal with outstanding service. Our favorite date night spot!!
The atmosphere and ambiance were fantastic. The food was good. The corn cakes and eggplant fritters in the appetizers were a bit under seasoned, so could have tremendous, but were instead just good. The entree's were spot on in flavor, although we were a bit surprised on the elements in the dishes (not explained on the menu), which would have allowed us to make a special request we need. Overall though, very nice meal.
Amazing food. Good service. Loved it!
Lovely experience, all around! The atmosphere was wonderful, our server was fantastic, and the food/drinks were exceptional. My husband ordered the shrimp and grits which was, hands down, the winning order of the evening. The heirloom tomato and burrata cheese appetizer was also a highlight. For after dinner drinks, we visited the swanky and unique bar located in the "coatroom" of the basement (Undercroft Bar), but ultimately ended up at the rooftop bar to enjoy the cool weather and city views. Cannot wait to make reservations at Peacher's Son next time we're in Bentonville!
We really need good restaurants in NWA. Our hope in going to The Preacher's Son was disappointed by the lack of service, although our appetizers were good, the overall menu selection is small. We arrived a few minutes early and ordered three appetizers as we waited on our guests to arrive. Once everyone was seated the waiter didn't come back to ask our guests for their drink order, so we flagged down another waiter for assistance. The main entrees were served by someone other than our waiter, and the server didn't know whose meal was whose. My scallops came out basically raw. We asked the waiter if they could cook them a little bit longer so he took the plate back to the kitchen. Dessert was being offered and my scallops were still in the kitchen. I would recommend the server go back to the table and ask how the meal is shortly after being served. This may have alerted the server that I didn't have my meal.
It really felt like the right hand didn't know what the left hand was doing. Finally, the noise level is very high and the restaurant could use some ambiance. Sadly disappointed in our experience with The Preachers Son.
The food was outstanding and we will visit again.
We were disappointed that we had to eat on the rooftop due to the restaurant having a private party inside even though we had made a reservation at least 10days prior to travelling from Little Rock.
Excellent food and service, beautiful dining room. Our creme brûlée didn’t quite have the crust it should have, but it was delicious. Everything else was perfect. We also enjoyed the rooftop for drinks after dinner.
Excellent best meal in a year!! Creative, innovative and healthy!
Highly recommend this restaurant. Housed in what was once a church, it offers both indoor and outdoor seating. The lovely, yet understated deco, pays homage to the building's previous life as a church. . The menu offered a very nice variety of options. Our meal was excellent as was the service. In this time of COVID 19, there was generous spacing between tables. The wait staff wore both masks and gloves.
We really have enjoyed our visits at Preacher's Son. This particular evening was for my wife's birthday and it was an early reservation. It was quiet and really allowed us a chance to chat without having to shout. The server was extremely knowledgeable. My pork belly with black-eyed peas and rice and my wife's gnocchi with beet fromage were both delicious. We topped off the meal with chocolate mousse and our only complaint is there wasn't a bucketful of it. It was great.
Yes this is gluten free but dairy dominates the menu. So beware, we couldn't even have desert. So if you like many others have problems with gluten and dairy this is not a good fit.
Such good service! Perfect for a date!! Can’t wait to go again!
After all I'd read, I was really prepared to like this place. The service was attentive and the space is very pleasant. But the food was almost inedible due to excessive sweetness in everything I ordered. My martini had so much vermouth I couldn't taste the premium Plymouth gin I requested. An arugula salad was drowning in a sweet, creamy goat-cheese dressing; so sweet I couldn't taste the arugula, beets or cheese. Eggplant fritters looked beautiful, but sugar completely drowned any eggplant flavor. They tasted like sweet oversize hushpuppies. Oysters on the half shell were great quality but tiny. Even the New Zealand sauvignon blanc I drank with the meal had a sweetness unusual for such wines. The tab for 3 appetizers, one cocktail, and one glass of wine was close to $100 with tip. This would be fine for a consistently stellar meal, but I left hungry and disappointed. I should have sent everything except the oysters back to to the kitchen. I expressed my disappointment to the manager as I left, and he was courteous. But I headed straight over to Hive restaurant where I enjoyed some perfect pasta and and wine to end my evening on a happy note.
Our waiter was great and the food was incredible. Highly recommend the shrimp and grits for an upscale play on a classic southern dish.
So yummy! Never disappoints me
Everything about this restaurant was outstanding! Our server, Daniel, was super helpful with the menu and so attentive throughout our dinner. My 13 year old grandson was doubtful he would find anything of interest on the menu. However, with Daniel’s aid, he was more than thrilled with his meal. We split the shaved Brussels sprout salad and it was incredible, even for my grandson. I had the shrimp and grits, which I would give a “10” if I could!!!! One of the best dishes I’ve ever had. My grandson had the gnocchi and loved it. The special and unique touches the chef put on each dish were noteworthy, especially the mousse-type cheeses. After dinner, we headed to the rooftop for dessert. Just a wonderful dinner experience I would recommend to everyone!
The food was amazing and the service was excellent!
Combined, the two of us tried seven dishes and enjoyed every one. Service was professional and attentive. We will be back.
Food was great, well seasoned, scallops came a little cool but remedied by a trip back to the kitchen. Will definitely return. This is the best restaurant in Bentonville. The old church has been beautifully converted, Dombeck windows are perfect.
Very nice table in a unique setting. We tried the restaurant and the speakeasy but did not make it to the rooftop bar due to the number of people and limited seating. The food is outstanding and the wait staff great. We would recommend this restaurant for any occasion.
It was a great dinner
