In 1849, John Ruskin wrote The Seven Lamps of Architecture which spread Gothic Revivalism across the western world. In 1904, that same style is used for the First Christian Church in downtown Bentonville. In 2015, Chef Matthew Cooper, son of a Methodist preacher, becomes the executive chef of this restaurant. Food was great, well seasoned, scallops came a little cool but remedied by a trip back to the kitchen. Will definitely return. This is the best restaurant in Bentonville. The old church has been beautifully converted, Dombeck windows are perfect.

Very nice table in a unique setting. We tried the restaurant and the speakeasy but did not make it to the rooftop bar due to the number of people and limited seating. The food is outstanding and the wait staff great. We would recommend this restaurant for any occasion.

We had a fabulous dinner, you will not be disappointed. Besides the excellent service, the food was divine. Be began by splitting the shaved brussel salad - it was rich, delicious and more than enough for 2. For our entree we had the striped bass and the seared scallops and both exceeded our expectations. The church itself is well-done. Loved how they handled the stained glass windows by removing the original ones and giving it to a church and then having an artist make the windows, bringing the outside in. It was a delightful experience.

This is our absolute favorite restaurant! I’m celiac, and I love that I can eat everything on the menu without worry! Plus, the fried artichokes we had at lunch were the best thing I have ever eaten!! Thank you for all of your attention to detail!

The beautiful church could be better displayed with softer decor...table cloths and candles for sure. We love trying new dishes and like most things, however we felt the food here was overrated...too pricey for the level of taste. Overall we were disappointed.

Great service, food, and overall experience for dinner. We arrived early and checked in expecting to have to wait but we were seated right away which was nice. They were able to easily accommodate my food allergy and provide good suggestions. This is one of my favorite places to go for date night.

Four of us dined together. Had a couple of appetizers that were very flavorful and filling. I had the shrimp and grits for the main course, very tasty. The other three ordered stripped base for entries. Fish was served with skin on. Under the skin was very little white meat. The majority of the flesh was fatty bloodline, which is typically removed before preparing. All three serving were inedible!! Very disappointing main entree experience. Waiter made excuses, no communication from management. I told them I didn't expect or want the items removed from the check due to the extreme downturn restaurants have experienced from COVID-19. They did provide complementary desserts. Hopefully they fix this particular issue so I won't mind recommending Preachers Son to others.

Great atmosphere, loved the bar and the roof top as well...The menu due to Covid was limited and didn't include much that we wanted so we didn't have a big dinner as we planned, but would return at another time when things are back to normal.
Thank you

I got the steak for dinner and it just wasn’t great. For a $45 steak I expected a much more flavorful cut of beef. We also noticed the waitresses/waiters were dressed VERY casually. For such a beautiful, pricey restaurant we expected more. Our waitress was very sweet, though! And we enjoyed our cocktails.

The steak bavette and gnocchi were a little dry but the service and wine were great! I love that the staff was taking covid precautions seriously and the outdoor space was set up accordingly as well. We'll be back!

Atmosphere is unique and fun. Eclectic menu; local suppliers. Our appetizers were excellent; wonderful oysters on the half shell with ramp dressing, really awesome. Our scallops were in a roasted red pepper sauce which was good. However, the dish was served lukewarm at best, very disappointing! Asked to warm, but returned barely warmer, and just the scallops were heated. We had been there one other time and was very pleased then, so hopefully this is just an off night.

the food at this restaurant is the best we have had in a very long time. My wife and I ate there on two successive nights because it was so delicious. We had the eggplant, pork belly, stripped bass and scallops as well as the oysters. What a treat!!

One of the coolest restaurant environments I've been to - very modern, open, and eclectic. There's three levels, but we sat on the main dining level. Our server Shadow was very attentive the whole entire time and made our experience even better! We had the roasted cauliflower as an app, scallops and sea bass as the entrees, and ricotta and fruit as the dessert. There was a lot of complex flavors with recognizable ingredients that made it very easy for us to enjoy everything. Overall, I would definitely come here again the next time I'm in town. Although it might be pricey to some, I believe that you're paying for more than just the food here, you're paying for an experience at The Preacher's Son.

Staff was unfriendly and rushed us out because we were not going to get entrees, just apps and drinks. Food and drinks were overpriced and disgusting. The cast iron corn bread was dryer than a desert.

Beautiful space, great ambiance, cool window etching, great service (thanks abbey!) and amazing food. Obviously, I cannot say enough great things about The Preachers Son.
After having a few drinks on the rooftop patio, we headed downstairs for dinner. Even though it was a Thursday, I strongly suggest making reservations as every table was taken.
For a party of six, we ordered the following:
Crab fritters
Mushrooms
Beets
Roasted cauliflower
Cast iron cornbread
Mahi Mahi
Mushroom risotto
Lamb fusilli
Smoked fried chicken
Pork shank
Strawberry cake
Lemon turmeric sorbet

EVERY SINGLE dish was delicious! Because we left feeling like we were all pregnant, we did not get a chance to enjoy the speakeasy located in the basement, but when we are back in town, we will make sure to save room for after dinner drinks.

I enjoyed the Chef's Creativity with mixing Spices and Flavors.

We ordered the Lump Crab Fritter
Apple Beet Salad served over Fresh Greens Feta, Candied Pecans with Basil Vinaigrette
Smoked Fried Chicken served over wild rice
Pork Shank over Mashed Potatoes with Pork Au Jus
Gnocchi with Carrots served over Honey Fromage.
Peach Mint Ice Cream.

The Old Church Decor was very relaxing.
If the Church Bells are still working softly ringing them on the hour would be Cool.
