Romántico

Pranzi brings something a bit different than the typical Italian places in Chicago’s River North area. Classic is great, but innovations can make for something truly special. The elevated dining space can seat up to 150 people making it a great place to hit after work with coworkers, clients or your family. The décor at Pranzi is quite handsome with custom chandeliers and a “Rat Pack” feel – you might even hear a Sinatra song while enjoying a signature shot or drink special at the bar. Plenty of things on the menu are going to tempt you, but the most popular is the double D pizza, a unique pizza with two layers of crispy dough with a stuffing of mozzarella, Italian beef, giardiniera peppers and sauce. It is easy to see why Pranzi has been a Chicago favorite for over 25 years.

Delicious food. Great entertainment with jazz singer Toni Callahan and others. Nice find for a special night out. Pizzas and pasta are tasty. Highly recommend.

The food was great. We loved the pizza. The service was also great. Good bartenders and waiters. They were both very helpful about what to order. The band was great too, just a little too loud.

I went on Valentine's Day. They had live music and tasteful decorations. The food was outstanding. It had a great, cozy, warm but modern atmosphere. Next time I would try having a drink first at the bar too, which the bar looked nice.

I thought the atmosphere was very cute. But will not be returning due to the "eh" food and service. I got the octopus pasta (the pasta was good, but the octopus was way too big and firm. Ended up chucking most of the meat and just eating the penne). My husband got a thin crust pizza, which was ok. The gnocchi was good -- light and flavorful. The tiramisu was all cream and very disappointing.

Second time having pizza here/first time dining in. The recommendations by server proved to be true! The beer choices were good as well.

So welcoming! The hostesses and bartenders were great! Such nice people. A very slow night- hardly anyone there- but the bartender took great care of us- gave us an app and dessert on the house! Food was average, and I would probably go back, but they need to do some advertising or something so people know about it. It's hidden down the street and maybe some ads would bring people in? Good luck to them!

Nice place. The food was great. Big portions for a decent price. I highly recommend the veal parmigiana. We enjoyed the music video screen which featured Dean Martin performing every other song along with a good mix of standards, soul, and rock & roll in between. Also a number of other screens showing college football games, all while we were chowing down on good italian food and sipping on wine. Can't beat that. We will definetly be back to Pranzi!
