Pozzi Coffee Wine Bar and Bistro
Second visit to Pozzi, just as good as first. Love the onion soup, a whole sweet onion in delicious broth. Giant rib-eye steak could have fed two people, was cooked to perfection. Husband had catch of the day, cobia in a brown butter sauce, said it was fabulous. Shared the awesome coconut cake for dessert, yummy. Great wine selection. Looking forward to next visit!
Great little place. Food excellent. Friendly ,prompt, courteous service.
Awesome experience, great service and dinner! Recommended restaurant for Fernandina Beach.
we live in Beaufort SC. Took a chance on Pozzie's on Ash st. while visiting. Had a most enjoyable meal. The B&B at Ash and S. 7th added to the scene. We found the three day weekend very relaxing and returned home refreshed. A good respite. Ruth and Rob McBrayer
The food was excellent, well prepared and well presented. My wife and I ordered two wedge salads and one order of two "large lump crab cakes" to split. The owner came to inquire if we wanted to split the sides too or to have two full sides with the split entre for a $10 upcharge. We chose to split the sides thinking the crab cakes would be big enough to fill out our meal. Turns out the crab cakes were large lump crab meat in very small crabcakes... Way too small for a $39 entre price, in my opinion. I thought the wine too was over-priced. It's a lovely restaurant with a nice menu, but the pricing is not competitive with other fine restaurants in the area.
The best crab cakes within 2,000 miles!!!
Great wine selections.
Always a fun evening here.
Candy and Steve are gracious hosts. Having grown up on cold-water lobsters, I am so happy they routinely have them on their menu. Their filet mignon is also terrific.
So glad to find Pozzi open Sunday evening after very favorable review from a couple at our B and B. Great location in historic area, near water and within walking distance from our B and B made for a good start for our evening meal. The place was quiet, nicely appointed and had Gene Kelly on the screen above the bar. Nice! The food and wine were divine. One of us enjoyed the 1/2 lobster offering and the other the steak salad. Yum, yum! The wedge salad was sooo good, too. We would love to dine again at Pozzi next time we are on Amelia Island.
FIrst visit with friends. The menu is a bit limiting; the mains are a bit on the "high side" for the venue; the crab cakes were excellent but small. The people who own/manage it are very nice
Three words; excellent, excellent, excellent. Highly recommend.
Excellent service and attention to detail. High quality food and ambiance
We had dinner at Pozzi last night, and overall it was a very pleasant experience. The restaurant is lovely - it makes you feel as though you’re dining in an intimate European restaurant, transformed from its daytime coffee and wine bar atmosphere with crisp linens and attentive service. The owner was our server and he was very knowledgeable about the menu and wine selections.
The menu is limited, which we thought was smart. They try to do a few things well in their small open-air kitchen so you need to go in with the right attitude. We shared a charcuterie and cheese platter, and our friends had the filet, which they gave 2 thumbs up - while we enjoyed the crab cakes. The sides included risotto and slim green beans. The crab cakes were absolutely fabulous, and the reason we’ll be back. They were jumbo lump crab with little more than a light sauce holding them together, and cooked perfectly. Compared to the bready, minced crab cakes we’ve had elsewhere on the island there’s no contest.
Couple of little things they could work on. First, the special of the evening was Osso Bucco, but it was only offered as part of a 3-course meal. Our friends love Osso Bucco but didn’t want the other courses - the request was refused. There was nothing special about the other courses included in the meal - they were all offered a la carte, so there was really no reason our friends couldn’t have had the meal they really wanted. This lack of flexibility was a missed opportunity for Pozzi and left sour taste for the guests. The second thing they could take another look at is the risotto. Since it’s the standard side, it needs to be awesome. It tasted okay, but I don’t think they used the proper rice because instead of the typical creamy, smooth texture, it was very starchy/gummy. Easy fix.
We’ll definitely be back to Pozzi, for afternoon coffee or wine, and for dinner. Keep it up guys - there’s nothing else like you on AI and you have a good thing going!
Knowlegable host. Food was served timely with all of the ambiance and attendance to presentation.
Love this place. Fabulous food, good service, great access to the owners and chef.
Good food and service. Expensive
If you are looking for white tablecloths and candlelight, this is not your place. If you want really good food paired with interesting and reasonably-priced food, though, check this one out. We tried the charcuterie board followed by the lobster entree, and both were excellent. The crab cake also looked really good. We will definitely go there again. The place is small, so I recommend making reservations.
First time visit and was impressed. Food was excellent along with wait staff. We would return without question.
Only criticism was the limited menu . Hope for more offerings or frequent changes to menu.
Would recommend only to try once. Very expensive, limited menu and food not special.
Excellent food. Intimate setting. Friendly service.
Great food in a small m, intimate setting. The owners and the chef were accessible and friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Pozzi Coffee Wine Bar and Bistro - I just wish it had a different name. The "coffee" in the name leads my friends to think its a coffee shop. I arranged to meet a friend for lunch and she said "i didn't think they did lunch - thought it was coffee and wine bar". We went for lunch - the tuna salad was very nice but we were the only patrons. After I recommended it for lunch for another friend heard a complaint about having to pay for refills for iced tea. She said - "definitely not Southern"
We made reservations for dinner the following week and I worried all week that we would be only patrons again - but - nice group of customers and the owner hosting and running the dining room made the evening wonderful! Good food - great ambiance.
We went to Pozzi for the first time last night and definitely will be back. The steaks were melt in your mouth & the lobster was delish and beautifully plated. The owners and staff were delightful. We’ll be back soon!
A unique and appealing atmosphere. A limited but delicious menu - the presentation was nice and the flavor delicious! And the crab cake was authentic Maryland with Old Bay seasoning - a first for us in Florida. The proprietors are personally involved which is a very nice touch. A little expensive so not a weekly dining destination. But we enjoyed it much.
Food was outstanding. Our table had the lobster, a filet, and the daily special - hanger steak,
Whole meal was amazing. The crab cake reminded me of the crab cakes I use to have in Maryland., no filler. Staff was very friendly. Great wine list. We will definitely be back.
A very good Valentines dinner. We will be back to try their breakfasts.
This is definitely our new “go to” place for an overall excellent experience. Owners and staff are delightful, and the food outstanding!!
Restaurant is small & cozy. Limited entrees but food was very good. Good wines with excellent service from start to finish.
We truly enjoyed our Anniversary dinner at Pozzi’s. The food was phenomenal and the wine selection was amazing. The number of good bottles of wine available for $30-$60 was impressive. Most places only offer a few mid priced bottles to choose from. And if you don’t recognize the names just ask owner and he will be happy to help you find a great one to go with your meal. Limited dinner menu but there was something for everyone. And the food was amazing. Not just the meat, but the potatoes and green beans might have been the best I’ve ever had. Can’t wait to go back.
A wonderful new restaurant and wine bar in Fernandina Beach. Pozzi’s is a real gem! The owners, Steve and Candy are on site, and are very gracious and open. Steve is very knowledgeable of Italian varieties and other nice selections of wine.
We had the large charcuterie plate, which was outstanding with a variety of fresh Italian meats and cheeses . My partner had the filet mignon, which is as good as anything we’ve ever had, tender and seasoned just right. We can recommend this restaurant with five stars. We will be back again soon.
Service was fast and friendly and food was well prepared. Strong international wine list.
Surprised that the owner was wearing a white polo pullover with a big red wine stain on it.
When I looked at the regular menu prices my impression is that they are too high and inconsistent with the ambiance. The place is a cafe and very stylish but the menu prices are closer to David's, where there are white tablecloths and well dressed wait staff. I think the coffee is good, wine was good, staff was nice, and the old movies are a great touch, too. I think this restaurant size and comfort level is suited to small plates of delicious fresh pastas, antipasti, soups and mouth-watering desserts. We enjoyed our steak and salad from the restaurant week menu.
Bob- Thank you for your feedback. Being a new restaurant that is how we improve. While we are not a white table cloth restaurant, we take pride in offering the best ingredients we can. Our Maryland crab cakes are made 100% from Jumbo Lump, Lobster is from New England, Filet mignon is center cut and aged 45 days, our Rib Eye steak is USDA prime corn-fed Nebraska aged beef, and our prosciutto is aged 600 days and shipped from Parma, Italy. Sorry about the wine spill. It was a busy week!
New restaurant in Fernandina. Nice casual place. Very good Restaurant Week menu. We will return and try their regular menu soon!
We enjoyed the restaurant week menu. Lovely owners go above and beyond to provide a great experience. Loved the unique onion soup. Presentation added flare to the meal. Small restaurant so make a reservation to guarantee your table.
The food, service, and owner attention were excellent. The filet was so tender I could have cut it with a butter knife and was perfectly prepared to my “rare plus” specifications. Only two small issues and that were that the asparagus was a bit over cooked and I went home smelling like the kitchen due to the small space. But I can tolerate these when we have such a wonderful addition to the restaurant scene with attentive and fun owner/operators and great food. Thank you Steve and Candi for such a nice night. We will be back soon!
This is a charming place with good food and friendly owners and waitstaff. It is an intimate setting which I enjoyed. I did think it was a little pricey but I will definitely go again. I think it is a great neighborhood addition. Wine recommendations spot on!
The seating is a bit tight, hard to have a private conversation. The staff was friendly but felt like they were rushing us. The food was definitely the highlight and we will go back.
Great new addition to Amelia island. Excellent service and food. I had filet, wife had crab cakes. Both were cooked perfect. Wine menu also top notch.
The food and staff were wonderful! The staff was very knowledgeable about the menu and wine list! We will be back.
Excellent food! Owners were great. A little pricey though.....
