Pourhouse Restaurant is located in a building that is more than 100 years old. It features a 38-ft bar, gold leaf detailing and beautiful dcor throughout. It also offers up some excellent cocktails along with plenty of wines and beer choices.
Pourhouse Restaurant has some great starters including warm olives, bread & butter, albacore tuna Nicoise and rabbit terrine. Some of the main dishes to try include the steak & frites, the beef ravioli and the cauliflower steak. You could also opt for the veggie burger, spaghetti & meatballs or the Pourhouse burger when you come to Pourhouse Restaurant.
Took some out of town guests from California to a favourite vancouver restaurant and it was a big hit.
We ate food we never would have even thought of pairing.....really good and the drinks were fantastic. The server was so friendly, helpful, and sweet and the entire experience was a positive one.
A great selection of delicious foods and drinks- I recommend the Scotch Egg and the burgers.
We had a great time at this venue. The food and drinks were great, but what really made the experience just that much better was the service. Our server did a fantastic job with our group, recommending cocktails, and appies, and really staying on the ball. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to others.
Great food, always a couple of veggie options and super fresh. Their cocktails are delicious and bar staff are super helpful.
I found Pourhouse on Yelp. The menu was a little limited at first glance but in my opinion that's becuase rather than do a lot of things well they choose to do a few things amazingly well. Great alcohol selection. Super easy to find and a parkade right next door. The bone marrow was one of the best starters I've ever had.
a friend of mine brought me there and i have made it a point to make eating at the pourhouse a thing to do in vancouver every time
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our evening here-super cocktails, great wine, and interesting beer selection. The food was really tasty and unique-the Scotch Egg and the Devils on Horseback were neat, and the Creme Brule was large enough to share. Overall a fun evening and one that we will certainly do again when next in Vancouver!
great ambiance. food was really good. over 60 cocktails to choose from and local wines to choose from. our server was really friendly. overall would highly recommend.
I would definitely come back, just for the scotch egg alone. Service was friendly, but longer than anticipated waits between orders. If the servers could check in more frequently, I think I would enjoy the servers more. Otherwise, very knowledgeable and the food was great.
I've been to the Pourhouse a number of times. The food is always great, cocktails are superb, and they have a decent selection of beers. Be sure to have the Scotch eggs and Devils on Horseback as appys.
The food and drinks were great! The servers were knowledgeable and made good recommendations. I had such a fantastic experience that I will have to come try the lunch!!!
The group really enjoyed the casual atmosphere. The food was great. We had several appetizers and everybody was happy with their main course. The service was a bit slow at times but it didn't really matter as that gave us more time to chat and connect. We had a great time.
Loved the food! The marrow was outstanding and our oysters were super fresh! Great service, delicious food and superb cocktails! Will definitely go back to try everything on the menu.
The food was good and well prepared by the menu wasn't as imaginative as I hoped ... considering hope difficult it is to get a reservation. The Bar on the other hand is EXCELLENT! Wide variety, well stocked bar, great execution. Worth the wait to get seats. Yes, I will go back for the BAR!
The food was great, atmosphere and decor fun and charming. The service, not great, we asked for drink recommendations and was bluntly told, we have cocktails, beer and wine, as if we didn't know a restaurant would offer that.
Server wasn't able to recommend anything, maybe he didn't know their own menu.
Also mentioned there was a birthday that was being celebrated, which is why we were there, and he made no remark at all.
When the entre came, he brought the wrong food.
Tired of trying to engage and talk with him, we didn't bother sending the food back, even though it wasn't what we had ordered. At that point we just wanted to minimize interaction with him, didn't want him to spoil the birthday celebrations.
If we didn't get his bad service that night, the overall experience would have been great.
We would go back but would make sure not to have him again. If in the future we get stuck with him again, we would rather leave.
It was a Friday night, so I guess he was tired and couldn't recommend anything and other staff couldn't do anything to move us to a different section.
Thanks for making the bad service one of the most memorable moments for the night.
Wow. It's been a long while since we've been back to Pourhouse; not because it wasn't good the first time, its just that there are so many old and new places to explore that I just haven't found a chance to return. But, boy am I thrilled that I returned for Dine Out 2015!
We all got the Dine Out menu, but the food was so enticing that we could not help ourselves and ordered, dish-after-dish!
Service: Quick, friendly and attentive.
Ambiance: Boisterous! It was a standard Friday-night, after-work crowd looking for a few rounds.
Food: Just order anything on this current menu. You won't be disappointed. (Unless the kitchen staff is having an off day...you will not be disappointed).
We only wish we had bigger bellies.
Bravo Pourhouse! Keep up the great work!
Pourhouse is a great venue for lunch or enjoying that perfect cocktail after the day is over. The burger is worth all the rave reviews and the cauliflower steak is a personal favorite
We ordered of the dine out menu and it was sublime. The best food I have had in a really long time. My wife asked about cocktails and the server responded with asking her some questions about drinks she likes and that sort of thing, then asked if she could choose one for her... and it was wonderful. The wine pairing for both of our meals was perfect and in all it was a fantastic evening. Definitely be going back. The only glitch was a hiccup with the music (wrong playlist or something) but the waitress apologized and soon it was back to suitable selections for the environment.
Though the beer list changes and I miss the meatloaf lunch sandwich, regardless, I and everyone I've brought / introduced to the place for lunch has never left feeling underwhelmed, over charges, or otherwise annoyed as might find among some others of the newer generation of foodie & hipster inclined eateries. Devils on Horseback and Scotch Egg for the win!
